Hi there guys, I've been looking for an image for a while now that I'd like to use as a reference for a tattoo design. I'm looking for a large or line drawn (Kusanagi concept style) image of that one famous panning shot of the Shinra Headquarters tower.

This one:

I need a larger version of this image, if there is one. Or a line-drawn concept version,a Kusanagi Studio artwork of the scene, if there is one.
Here's an example of what I mean by that:

I'd like to get to work on this as soon as I can, so I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks, guys.

Oh wow, okay. Sounds confusing though, might be tough for me, but I'll give it a try.

Before I attempt that though, I should ask; can I use my game save files in the unmodded Steam version of the game? Just until I get into Disc 2, then reinstall the mod and continue from there?
Is that worth trying?
Or, maybe someone could take my save file at the end of disc 1 and play it through a little into disc 2, save it, and send it back to me?
Maybe I could try that if all else fails.

Also, thanks for putting up with me guys. I'm sure this is a little frustrating for you aswell. But hopefully I'm revealing some easier/simplier ways of assisting other newbies who might come along asking the same stupid questions that I have been.
There will be some more clarification I'll need from that last post later, too. Sorry.

EDIT:
Ohh, ohh! I got it to go past disc 1! I think I might've forgotten to run Kompass63's converter.

So I got into disc 2 and saved on the world map, the game was windowed and alot of mod stuff wasn't running. So I've gone into Bootloader config and set up my old setttings, started up the game and...
"Please insert Disc 2".
And now I can't get it to run again, even after i run Kompass63's converter. So I'm going to reinstall everything again, see if that works.

uh, okay. So whats this Kranmer thing and where do I get it? Yeah, actually- I don't understand any of these instructions.

Quote
There are two different versions, one of DLPB (90 kb) and one of Kranmer (4 kb).
DLPB's needs a subfolder "DLL_in" in which other DLLs are there.
Kranmers needs a subfolder "LOADR" in which other DLLs are there.
Copy missing DLLs best in both folders ...

So that DLPB thing I download, I need to create a "DLL_in" subfolder inside? Shouldn't I be extracting files from it and putting them in my FINAL FANTASY VII folder somewhere?

Other DLLs and other DLLs? Best in both folders?.. What?

Okay, I removed that old DLL file.

And now I've noticed that the FAQ instructions have been updated. I still didn't need to follow them, the FF7anyCDv2.dll was already in the LOADR folder.

On thing that was changed in the FAQ: Place "Mult.dll" into the root folder.
Is this still right?: (F:)/Games/Steam/FFVII/SteamApps/common/FINAL FANTASY VII >>(I put them here)<<
Or does it go into the DLL_in folder?

AnyCD.dll in Multi? Isn't it "FF7anyCD.dll", not "AnyCD.dll"? Are you saying that there's supposed to be a "Multi" folder I'm putting AnyCD.dll/FF7anyCD.dll into? And how would I go about "loading" Multi.dll?

Uh, not sure I really understand that one. So here's what I've done according to the FAQ:
Quote
    Download DLPB_Tools.zip
Done.
Quote
Extract the "DLL_in" folder and "Mult.dll" to your game folder.
Done, hopefully. I put those files here: (F:)/Games/Steam/FFVII/SteamApps/common/FINAL FANTASY VII/>>(I put them here)<<
Quote
    Download FF7anyCDv2.dll.
Did this, although I already had it to begin with inside the DLL_in folder*.
Quote
Place "FF7anyCDv2.dll" into the "DLL_in" folder.
*Yep, did this. Here's whats in my DLL_in folder now: FF7anyCD.dll, FF7anyCDv2.dll, Hext.dll, Hext_Reademe.txt, Multi.dll
Maybe I have to remove FF7anyCD.dll?
Quote
    Add the line  load_library = Multi.dll  to ff7_opengl.cfg.
Did this, and I didn't need to- it was already there. It says:
     # Load Multiple DLLs
     load_library = Multi.dll

Okay, so I went and did that, restalled everything. And it worked!

But... now there's a new problem.

I can't continue playing on Disk 2.
Even after following the FAQ's instructions, which were unnecessary anyway, it wont work.

Unhhhhhhghhhhhhhh...

Oh, a complete uninstall? I really don't want to do that.. I was lucky enough to get the game working the first time, I don't want to undo that incase I can't get it working again.

Yeah, that was the first thing I tried. That doesn't work, Mode switching can't be disabled that way.

Okay, so now I'm really stuck with that bug. I can't beat a made-up Hardcore boss even with Invincibility on.

Are you sure there's no way to turn this off or fix this? I don't want to fight any of these new bosses. Is there some way I can disable Mode Switching or whatever else might be causing this game breaking bug?

I couldn't reinstall without Mode Switching for some reason, so I just selected Invinsibility in Hardcore Mode and beat the boss, then switched back to normal without Invinsibility Mode on. I'll keep it like this incase I come across this problem again later on.

So is there no way to get around the 65th floor chest bug? I've reinstalled several times, unselected Mode Switching, and tried that UNLGP+LGP tool thing, but nothing works.

Maybe I'll just have to to level grind for a few days and try to beat that Hardcore Mode boss to continue.

Ah yes, if I turn on the hardcore difficulty the boss appears. So cool, until I can get that to not happen I'll have to grind until I can beat that hardcore boss and move on.

Ah, okay. Cool! So I did that but it doesn't seem to work. Do you think it's fixed, but my save state is still messed up? Will I need to load an earlier save or start all over again? Or maybe I'm not installing it correctly..?

I've come across a game breaking bug. I'm on floor 65 of the Shin-Ra building and after assembling the Midgar model puzzle I go to open the last box containing the next Keycard and BAM, battle! Boss music?.. aaaand, nothing. Just a black screen and a semi-frozen computer. Also, just before this I noticed that Cloud's EXP didn't go up after winning a fight on the same floor.

And now I've noticed that I get an error message:

   Oops! Something very bad happened
Wrote crash.dmp tp FF7 install dir,
Please provide a copy of it along with APP.LOG when reporting this error.
   Write emergency save to save/crash.ff7?

So, uh.. yeah?

Sorry about that, I never got around to a 7H version for HD Cid. Like Kaldarasha mentioned you can just add ".lgp" after every folder name and it'll work, though I suggest using an iro instead of a regular folder it seems to slow the game down some. I'll post a 7H HD Cid in a bit.

Uhh, sorry- could you please try explaining that again? I have no idea what that means.

Like, which folders? I have the file 'HD Cid.7z' and inside that file are Battle, Field, Chocobo and World folders. Do I add .lgp to those folders through renaming them, or what? And how would I get 7th Heaven to import them?
I don't even know what it means to 'unpack' and 'repack' and stuff, is that like Extracting the files?

But if you're just going to make a .iro of that Cid file then nevermind, that would eliminate any need for these questions because it'll run just as easily as the Tifa one, right? Oh, but then I've somehow gotten some other mods to work, like the HD sewer one. Through 'modpath' or something, a folder I think I created.. I don't even remember how I got that to work.

Quote
For FF7Music just find the exe in the Run Also option and 7H will open it too.

And this here, I really don't know what any of this means. I know that there's a program that is open when I play the game called FFVII Music, but I don't know about 'Run' or 'Also option', and how do I get 7H to open that? I don't know which exe file I should be looking for or where it would be, and even then I wouldn't know how to get 7H to run it.

I'll make a guide sometime when I have the time. It's not difficult to learn.

Yeah, that would be great for me and probably a bunch of other dumb newbies just like me. I'd really appreciate it.

Okay, that sounds really cool! So how can I:
Quote
set 7th Heaven to run an alternate program alongside it, so have it run FF7Music to get your music back.
..? Something somewhere in the 7thHeaven's workshop-settings thing, maybe?

And yeah, I really do need to study up on all this. Like how to install all these amazing textures that I've downloaded here.
Is there a beginner's guide thread out there somewhere that I should be reading? I'm finding it a little difficult to navigate these forums.
For now I'll go looking for that 7thHeaven thread, though. Thanks for the help!

you can paste the folder to your iro files.

Sorry, I don't understand what this means.

Also, now I'm coming across an issue where if I start up the game from 7thHeaven the game's music won't work. If I start up the game from the Bootloader the music works again, but the stuff from 7thHeaven won't.

Thanks, that worked out great!
I also managed to get cmh175's Red XIII model working in the 7th Heaven program, too.

I've downloaded a bunch of other graphical mods from the forums here, but those are the only two that seem to work in this program. Does anyone have any reccomendations for more .iro files that can work with this? I'd really like to get a new skin for Cid- as Cloud, Tifa, and Cid are usually my main characters.

And, is there any more kinds of programs like 7th Heaven that I need in order to get all the other mods I have working?
Like, I have a file; HD Cid.7z that I would also like to use, but when I open up the folder it has a bunch of folders inside like Battle, Chocobo, Field, World- but no .iro versions. Is there another way to get these kinds of files working, because I don't think they're meant for the 7th Heaven program, right?

Uh, how do I install this? Like, all kinds of cool stuff like this, where do i put these files? Or is there a thread somewhere about how to add all these custom graphical mods? I'm assuming that these will work in BFE.exe if I place files along with the rest of the files I got from Tifa's Package, but I don't think that'll work. Maybe there's a mod manager I'm missing, i dunno? Sorry if I'm being dumb.

I have a new problem, no music.
This is the error message I get:

Access violation at address 00000000. Read of address 00000000.

I did copy some music files earlier, but I didn't mess with the original files. Maybe I need to reinstall them or something?

EDIT:
Okay, I fixed it. I just dumped all the files back in the FFVII folder. But I might have more updates, like the screen resolution thing. So instead of constantly posting and adding to the length of this thread I'll just update this post from now on.

Bit of an update regarding my issue with screen size from yesterday. It seems that the screen size and positioning can be fixed if I hit the windows key and click the 'show desktop' button, then restore the FF7 game window. I'm glad that I have a way of fixing this, but I'd rather not have to do this every time I boot up the game, so I'd still very much appreciate a solution to the problem altogether.

But yeah, so far I LOVE this mod. My favourite game remade the way I want it to be, prettying up the graphics and not messing with the story or how/what the characters say.
When I first played this game in 1997 I loved it, but I didn't know of anime back then. So Advent Children, Crisis Core, etc. kinda ruin Final Fantasy 7 for me. I'd much prefer to imagine how the characters act and speak for myself, rather than how they would in an anime- which comes across as bizarre and alien to me.

I love and enjoy this game like I would a book, with how I can narrate and interpret the character's small gestures as I see appropriate. And I think a full and official remake would completely ruin that and utterly break my heart.

Any voice acting or awkward and untranslatable facial and bodily expressions would transform the game into a betrayal of how I interpret and enjoy the game.

If Cloud were to smile like he did in Advent Children, or laugh like Titus. If Barrett were to get an offensively bad Mr.T voice. If Aeris were to become a ditzy and fragile flower girly-girl face-palmfest like in Crisis Core, or if Yuffie began to act like a kawaii Japanese schoolgirl rather than the sardonic/sarcastic almost-4th wall breaking rebel jokester of a character as I've come to know her as.. I would die.

So yeah, this is perfect, thank-you so much for doing this.

I'm having an issue where when I start the game the screen size is all wrong. It's all zoomed in and placed up and to the right for some reason. I've tried to mess around with the screen resolution and selecting and unselecting the 'Preserve Aspect' option in the FF7 BootLoader OpenGL Configuration, but its always the same; the wrong size and placed up and to the right. Even in a smaller windowed mode.  Also, the safe settings locked up my computer completely and messed up my desktop.

My screen is 1920 x 1080.

But, when I hover my mouse cursor over the taskbar the little preview window shows the game centered and sized up correctly. Maybe it's from having two screens? Maybe my screen resolution settings are somehow wrong or messing it up? Maybe it's the toggle fullscreen option I selected at some point? I have no idea.

Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong here? Any fixes for this problem?
