This mod was originally on Shunsq's BerryMapper topic and also part of Mortael's Project Lionheart. All credit should really go to those projects since they were the starting points. I've simply helped expand upon them. Now due to the increasing size, the mod has been moved to this thread. This will make it much easier for people to help contribute, point out errors, and just make things simpler overall for everyone. And please remember that this mod is still in beta, so bugs are going to occur.

Now, as stated, the goal of this mod is to replace the main character's textures. And perhaps NPCs and lesser characters if we get that far. :D As it stands, the character's replaced so far are Squall, Rinoa, Zell, Selphie, Quistis, Irvine, and Seifer. Though, some of the uniforms and Rinoa's party dress aren't completed yet. Laguna, Fujin, and Ultimecia are only partially done. All the various character textures you'll see are originally made by Magochocobo. So all credit to him for that!

Directions:

1.   Download Tonberry v1.61 or later http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=15945.0 (http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=15945.0)
2.   Install Tonberry and all of it's components
3.   Pick your preferred pack, unzip the folder provided, and place "ch" into the "textures" folder.
4.   Place "RebirthFlame_hm" into the "hashmap" folder.

You should be good to go after this.

Note: There are a few versions of Squall(low poly and high poly) within the texture folder. You can pick and choose which ones you like by renaming them.

Make sure to disable the Steam Overlay to prevent any crashes.

Known Bugs: Possible disappearing NPCs, party members, objects and reverting textures. If any are found, please let me know so I can fix it.

Thanks! I kept putting it off because I got too obsessed with hashing. :P Thanks for the offer! Though, I'm sure you're busy with your own projects. As it stands, I really want to obtain all the hashcodes for the current characters we have. Which will probably be the longest process of all this. I'll work on other characters codes if any artists make textures for them.

Nicely done and congrats, also nice picture what system do you play on?

About the hashing.... are you sure you need all of those hash codes?   Can you pm me the original bit maps? Im going to test through all of the objmap codes and on any collision,  I'll try to find the colliding texture and fix the issue.  (Maybe even just upscale it) i think we might both be able to dump our hashmaps for this mod and lunar cry.  (Do you have the matching "eyes closed" bitmaps?)

I can't say for certain, actually. I do know they yield less glitches. Except for a few exceptions. But those are easily remedied. But the debug process is quite painful to sit through for those. While I can fix disappearing NPCs for the objmaps, I haven't found a way to fix the disappearing party members. Er...I don't have the original bitmaps for the objmap since my computer upgrade. I could probably gather them all back up tonight, though. Especially since that's much easier for me to do. If you could come up with a solution and we could dump them, that'd be great.

Try this for the missing party member:

Go to the location where the glitch is happening.

Oh, no, I get what you're saying. And, you see, you'd think that'd make sense... But because objmap codes extend over a big chunk of areas for the low poly characters, it fixes some things while causing problems with others. Like, if I use the way you suggest, it fixes Zell and the guards are no longer kicking the invisible man. But in doing so, you end up with things like this.

And you can't really fix that because both areas share the same objmap code. So they can't be separated...I don't think. It could be because of this odd texture setup, too.

It's funny you should mention Bugs, I actually came across one late in my evening when I made it to Disc 2.  During the D-District Prison when Zell is your main character, he is both missing when "Mean Guy" is kicking him (which was absolutely hilarious) and also while running around the various floors as your Party Leader, you simply see his shadow.  Battle Field was unaffected and functioned normally.

Yeah... That's one I've been wracking my brain over to figure out. For the most part, I think I have a solution to most disappearing characters. But there are a few exceptions...and that's one of them right now. Just let me know if you come across any more spots where characters disappear on you. That way I can try out this method in those spots to see if it solves anything.

Had it happen again, but only briefly during the Galbadia Missile Base.  While Selphie is your Main Character and in disguise, upon completing all the objectives in the base and walking up the stairs to the control room (still in disguise).  Selphie is missing, but still casts a shadow.  As soon as they take off the disguises she reappears.

It's fine if people want to edit them for personal use. Granted, they give credit to the original artist if ever given out. Though, it would be nice to see what they could do or even help out. But hey. To each their own.

got a question on the pack, you said we could use which ever squall we want, low or high poly, well im kinda new at this so i am wondering if you could tell me which one is default (which on it uses when i just put the files in the folders) and what i need to do to change it to just use one? i noticed you said to rename them, but i dont know which one to rename XD (been having a glitch where squalls textures pop in and out, like its using the old ones and then switchs back to new ones, so i think this might be the issue)

The default ones always end with "_13". So, all you need to do is have the one you like end with that and name the ones you aren't using with some other number afterwards like "_131, _132, etc". For consistency, you'll need to pick the matching textures in all the Squall folders and set them to default "_13". Except for the world ones. As for the blinking textures... That shouldn't be happening. Is it only Squall that does this?

If anyone is having trouble with certain character replacements, it may be due to the objmap.csv file I accidentally included in the Tonberry 2.03 release. This file was from an early pre-release version of Rebirth Flame and contains different texture names than the newer versions. If both objmap.csv and RebirthFlame_obj.csv contain duplicate hash codes, the former will take precedence and prevent the latter from loading.

If you have a file called 'objmap.csv' in your \tonberry\objmap directory, it should be deleted!

Edit: no longer an issue with Tonberry v2.04

yes, i think i figured it out by completely uninstalling and reinstalling the modes. so i think it was just me having a mod in there that was conflicting and didnt remember. but now im running into another issue, when squall does his blasting zone it freezes the game and i have to force close it. the only mods i have is the ones that mcindus (probably spelling his name wrong :P) mentioned in the tonberry enhanced forum (http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=15945.msg223951#msg223951 (http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=15945.msg223951#msg223951)) and this one. so ive gotta figure out which one is causing the problem now ><

EDIT: seems like all of his limit breaks are doing it.... time for a fresh install with no mods to see if it does it :'(

You don't need to do a fresh install. I'd wait for the next version of Tonberry to be released to see if that fixes the problem. This seems to only happen when you're fighting certain enemies. Like a Tonberry.

Please try Tonberry 2.04 that mavirick just released and see if that fixes the crashing problem.

You shouldn't feel stupid, this was not a part of the Known Issues list until the release of 2.04. Yes, I added it on there with the strikethrough :P There had been some discussion of the Limit Break problem in several different places but we can't expect everyone to go digging through dozens of comments just to see if someone else has had this issue. Normally I would have added it to the Known Issues bit earlier but since I don't own that thread it's not easy for me to update the first post...

In any case, I'm glad 2.04 seems to have fixed this issue for you  ;D

ok so far i noticed if you have irvine and rinoa (rinoa in the third position in menu) in the party and you go to bridge on balamb garden to control it, rinoa disappears, used zell and she reappears, she also disappears in the space scene before you get on the ragnarok, and also some parts when shes on the ground (havnt tried it with irvine not in my party) in space........

also wanted to let you know the spaced suits apparently have the skin of one of the characters instead of the normal white color..

(ill upload a youtube video if my shadowplay ever works)

Disappearing characters and NPCs are a known issue. As for the spacesuits, it should be Zell's textures overlapping due to matching codes. I hope to have most of this fixed by Monday.

Hey, no, it's fine. I know about most now. So I guess the objmap will just have to go once I'm able to release a decent hashmap. Thanks. Honestly, I know invisible characters must be an eyesore at times.

And sadly, it's taken me longer than I hoped to get it out there. :P

I don't make the textures. But I do move and fit them to work with the low poly models and the uniforms that haven't been made. I'm working hard to make sure this doesn't die out. :)

I just got to the part with the spacesuits... Seeing Zell's eyes staring at me from riiiight at crotch level is pretty freaking hilarious. ;)

Just takes a little learning and trial and error. Couldn't do this without Mago's textures and Shunsq's BerryMapper tool. And the support and help from others. :)

Yeah... It's funny to look at. And maybe a little disturbing for some. ;D But luckily, with the coming release this will be fixed...mostly. Just have one more scene where that happens and I hope to fix it soon.

To add more options, or boredom at times and wanted to change things up for my own playthrough, I decided to add Mortael's gunblade texture to the low poly one. Not too bad I think. But I do need to find a way to give the barrel/trigger more shine. Whether people use it for themselves in the later release is up to them. I also wonder if he ever finished the other ones he and Crestian were working on. They were looking pretty great.

This will be fixed in the next release that I should have up by either Sunday or Monday. What you can do for now is move rebirthflame_obj to the disable folder in Tonberry to disable the mod. Get through that one scene, then move it back out to turn it back on.

I've decided to finally release a new version of this mod. So I now present v1.1. This version should fix almost all disappearing objects in the game. A tradeoff is still a few textures reverting. But no where near as bad. There are three ways this might happen... One, certain areas where you go into battle. Afterwards, they might revert. Please let me know the areas where this happens so I can fix it. Two, using the Magical Lamp to fight Diablos. Since you can fight him at almost any time and in any area the textures are numerous and will take quite some time to collect. Three, a certain party combination in a certain area I missed. -A couple altered costumes. (Some still need some tweaking.)
-The rest of the weapons for the Student Uniform battlers. (Nothing will revert back now.)
-Tweaked textures.

You no longer need the objmap for this mod. You can either delete it or move it to the disabled folder. But I'll leave the 1.0 version up for those who still want to use the objmap if they still feel unsatisfied.

Edit: Corrected a few names in the hashmap (Irvine's battler which uses Ulysses). And, to the best of my ability, upscaled the weapons better.

Just stopped by to say I tweaked the pack some more. All weapons have been properly upscaled. Or...rather...they don't look like crap anymore. I've also fixed default Squall's eyes on his low poly model so they don't look so big. I plan to fix the costumes later on. Like the hand placement on Quistis and Selphie in their SeeD uniforms and also try to take a crack at properly upscaling the uniforms as well. Oh, and actually finish the low poly Ultimecia.

See? Seifer's weapon actually looks like a weapon and no orange tint like on the last one.  :-P

As for code gathering... I'll probably resume that by the end of this month seeing as how I'm in the process of moving. Time is a little short this month. But I'll continue to tweak things as I do that.

Did you put the textures in the texture folder? I didn't see it in your post. The textures for mine are named "ch". If you haven't, put that folder in the textures folder that should've came with Tonberry.

Yes, I put those in the textures folder along with all the others minus the hash2map.csv and collisions.csv, those are in the tonberry folder. The only things that I can think of is the C++ when i tried to install that, it said that I had a newer version previously installed on my computer and the prefs are not setup

As long as you're up to date, you're fine. I don't think messing with the preferences will do much. You could always try to reinstall Tonberry. Because as it stands you did all the steps right.

You put put Tonberry and its components along with the texture folder in your FF8 directory. Put the collisions and hashmap2 in the Tonberry folder. Put the textures in the textures folder. Hashmap and objmap in their folder. Unless I'm forgetting something it should work.

I got it working! I realized that I had the incorrect hashmap file to tonberry version. Once I replaced them I was able to run the mods. I appreciate all your help Fated. You guys have some fantastic graphics and coding, I appreciate everything you guys did.

Do you mean how to install this mod? There are directions on the first page along with a link to Tonberry which also has directions to install it. If you mean what you need to mod it yourself, like editing textures, you can use Tonberry to debug to pull some textures in which you can upscale and or paint the textures yourself.

You might try reinstalling your game. I also know of one person who said he fixed the same issue you had by copying the .dll that's missing from another Steam game he had. Though, I haven't tried this myself.

Hm... Did you remove the character replacement before using RF? You'll need to do that so nothing conflicts. All RF is is Shunsq's and Mortael's work but more updated so to speak. And when you updated Tonberry, did you replace/update all the files? That could also be the cause.

I've tryed again, deleting all the oldfiles and putting the updated ones (before i've updated again tomberry), and nothing, Xbox360 CB and SeeDReborn still working fine.

Lunar Cry is for have in HD the enemies (59 of 59 enemies are done), but not the Bosses.

Does Lunar Cry work for you? Because it should all work the same. If they all work but mine then perhaps something is wrong with just RF? No problem. Just want everything to work for those interested in this mod.

I'm curious about the prison part... I've gone through there multiple times and haven't had that happen. At what point did her texture do that? Also haven't had the Caraway Mansion disappearance happen since I've stopped using the objmap. What point in the game was that?

I should also ask if you're still using the objmap. Because if you are, that alone causes a lot of disappearing textures. If not, maybe I've corrected a few things lately that I've been working on without knowing.

The prison, it was soon as you were free of your prison cell. I'm way past that now though.

In dealing. It was literally each time you left the house. Inside the mansion she would be there but when you start following General Caraway so he can show you the route Eden takes in her parade, she doesn't show up until you reach the clock tower under passage. Then you go back to the mansion and the scene where Quistis has a go at Rinoa, she there, but as soon as you leave the house to get into position, she disappears again until you reach the clock again. Once youre locked in the house and find the secret passage, she's dissappear as soon as you go down the ladder underground for the entire time. I might have a clip of this. I'll check when I'm home.

My map did the same thing. I've taken the liberty of fixing the rest of that myself and haven't an issue with that since. ...Should probably send that file to Mcindus now that I think about it. :P Haven't messed with TT in awhile. Could probably gather the rest of those codes too if I knew all the places it reverted in the game.

Hey guys im having an issues with RF, no matter how i install it, it will not work. i have tonberry 2.04. Lunar cry works great along with all the other mods. ive also tired RF 1.0 but that hasnt worked either. when ever i put the hashmap inside the hashmap folder none of the mods work. but outside the folder just inside the tonberry folder they work fine with the exception of RF. The ch files are definitely in the texture folder. idk what the deal is, and i cant screen shot while in game running off a mac unfortunately. And i cant attach the screen shot of the folders for whatever reason. :cry: Thanks.(http://)

First off, thank you for your hard work on updating these textures. It makes playing the game much easier on the eyes these days.

This is scarier than the Omega Weapon.

It's totally playable of course. The problem I'm running into following this scene in space is "catching" Rinoa. She never appears. It's maddening! Consider this an error report. :)

I'm going to try to remove the textures folder and see if I can get by this section of the game.

On record, here are my hashmap and objmap folders with Tonberry 2.04:

I wouldn't be surprised if I screwed something up. I honestly just threw what I thought should be in each folder. The files were gathered from various places all over this forum.

You're still using the objmap. If you're using v1.1, you don't really need it. And it causes the problems that you saw.

Does this include the weapon textures from the berrymapper thread?

If you mean the most recent pictures posted, then no sadly. But I'd love to have them in game.

It's odd how all seem to work but RF. You're putting the "ch" folder in the textures folder right? You're running it off a mac? Are you using Wine? Not sure if this would screw up how the directories work or not.

IT WORKS! what i did to fix it was uninstalled ffviii(wasnt necessary) then erased Tonberry and texture folders. re created tonberry folder and re un zipped mods back into tonberry. if i had to guess it mayve been due to deleteing the disable folder, not sure why that'd prohibit anything but it works now. Your textures look AMAZING! now i can giddily play FVIII!

Just wanted to post something to show I'm still working on this. Still looking for areas with disappearing textures and bugs. Although, I have managed to fix one thing that was annoying me since I got the PC version of the game. That was the instruments for the concert. I know, very minor thing, but I like that scene.

Some instruments looked like this.

Turns out some of the instruments were pulling the textures from the wrong area. So I managed a workaround by placing the correct one there. Still testing to see if it causes any issues. Once I'm confident it doesn't, I'll update the pack.

Did finally update v.1.1 for the instrument fix. Couldn't find anything unusual. Also added more codes to the hashmap for reverting textures.

I've also tested other unrelated things but feel like posting them here for now as food for thought...

I've seen people using the Waifu upscale and wanted to try it out on a few things in FF8(I actually reupscaled the instruments with it, too).

Small update to the pack. Fixed up a Zell and Selphie for the world map. ...I know you only use them once for it...but consistency!

Also fixed Selphie's flail weapon. Looks as it should now... Funny how a few pixels can mess that up. :P And also added more codes to the hashmap for other reverting textures. Thanks. Just a simple waifu upscale is all. It doesn't appear that way, but you never know. Guess I could give it a shot for those that want an upscaled vanilla experience. Though, I think some backgrounds have animations which might restrict some things. So far I'm up to 93 backgrounds collected. I've been collecting things and upscaling them for my own personal testing, like bosses.

It's probably the objmap causing all of that. If you're using the hashmap at this point, then you don't really need the objmap. Take it out and see if it fixes your problems.

Thanks FatedCourage for creating this awesome mod, i have a problem though. At the end of Disk 1 and now on Disk 2, i noticed that Squall in battle, the textures change back to normal, other characters work just fine. Any suggestions on this problem? Thanks again for the awesome mod.

: I fixed the problem, don't have to worry about it anymore, it was the weapon Squall used that caused the problem, it was cutting trigger, switch to the other fixed it for me. Thanks

Thanks for letting me know about that. Turns out I messed up the Cutting Trigger name in the hashmap. :P Fixed it now and tweaked a few of the textures. I've also upscaled the remaining battler characters with the waifu program.

Thank you. I'm aware of this problem and will be fixing the hashmap soon. Though, you didn't have to delete it. Just simply renamed it to "char_special_17". But like I said, I'll get the hashmap updated soon since I've added more codes anyway.

Updated the hashmap to fix the disappearing Chocobo problem. Hoping that's the last of it.

Edited a few of the textures(including adding some filtering to the ones I upscaled using the waifu program).

Changed up Squall's weapons a bit. If you dislike it, I'll put the old ones back in if you liked the uniqueness. Or, make a copy of your current "ch" folder. Fixed the hair on Squall in his student uniform.
 
Oh. And I fixed the coloring of Squall's hand on the Devina edits for those of you that use them.

Back in March, Devina released an image slice that replaced Quistis's fisheyes with FF/KH style ones. A few weeks ago, I took all 6 Quistis textures from the pack, and replaced the eyes with Devina's new ones. I think i got where the problem is coming from
the game, instead of taking chocobo´s texture form char_special_17.png is taking it from char_special_25.png (where there´s nothing on that spot)

edit: yeah i copied the upper part of char_special_17 into char_special_25, so to see how it works, and the chocobo appears (despite the white parts that should be transparent, since paint doesnt support transparency)

Edit: Okay, it's up. Be sure to replace/delete the old textures and use the new ones. And use the edited hashmap as well. Hope this sorts out all the problems.

That's actually the game causing that. It happens without the mod as well. The only other time I've seen it is with Squall in space. It bothers me as well... Maybe eventually someone can find a way to fix it.

Finally updated Rebirth Flame to v1.2 after a long while. Perhaps too long... But hey, my fault. Life can be...fun sometimes.

What I've done:

1. Tried my best to update low poly Fujin's textures. Though... The bad UV makes her face look...terrible.
2. Everything else (that being Kiros, Ward, Edea, Raijin, and Rinoa's party dress) have been upscaled.
3. Reupscaled and updated a few textures.
4. Added Devina's version of Quistis and added low poly versions of that as well.
5. Updated the hashmap more.
6. I've split Mago and Devina's textures into two packs. That way you can pick whichever one you like. (I've updated the front page with some pictures.)

There might be more...but I can't be bothered to remember. I'll add it later if there is.  ::)

Thanks for sending the textures for me to incorporate them. Oh, definitely. With all the codes now in place, any artist can now paint any of the main characters they want and they'll work right away. But i don't see any eyes blinking when they should (ie Quistis and Squall during theyr animations after a victory, or when summoning a GF, etc). Did i mess up something while installing? (Although the models seems to work perfectly apart for the blinking).

They don't blink at the moment. That requires two things for it to work. One is for Tonberry to give more accurate hashes because at the moment it can't tell the difference between open and shut eyes. Two would be for the artist of the textures to create the textures with their eyes shut. At the moment some are and some aren't.

One thing I forgot from the last update was that I changed Zell's face to the more serious look across all models for more consistency. I might reupscale a few textures later down the line, but I'll see.

On an unrelated note to this project... Some people are curious how the FF8 backgrounds would look with waifu. It is something I'm working on as well. Just a long and very, /very/ tedious project. So if you want to see, here is a video with some. I'll upload more as I continue with this and getting battle effects/magic upscaled and looking all pretty.

Hello ! how are you? im new here so i will try to explain my problem the best i can(excuse my bad english) i just installed RF v1.2 and i tought everything works perfect but is not... in some parts of the game the squall body and face looks bad, and in other parts it looks fine. i have been testing and changed some names in the ch folder and it seems that the problem is in the "char_sql"and "char_sqlt" folders, because i changed the name of the pictures in that folders, and the result was that in battles and in some parts of the game squall looks greats but the most of the time it looks like a squall without mods, how can i make it work all the game? thanks!

Sorry for not responding faster... By bad, do you mean back to the original textures or is there overlap? Or do you mean his model changes detail? Because the second one is normal since the game does that. A screenshot would be helpful.

Yup! That's all normal. That's just how the game is. The quality of textures/models change depending on the field. The other characters are affected as well. So all is good. :)

The reason this happens is because the UVs in the game are off.  It seems that everything is scaled too much and cuts off a pixel at the texture seams. this causes strange issues, and in the lower poly models, the issue is much more obvious.

There is a way to sloppy-fix this, but it would be much better for an overall UV patch for FF8 Steam

The reason this happens is because the UVs in the game are off.  It seems that everything is scaled too much and cuts off a pixel at the texture seams. this causes strange issues, and in the lower poly models, the issue is much more obvious.

There is a way to sloppy-fix this, but it would be much better for an overall UV patch for FF8 Steam

Small update: Fixed up Irvine's legs so they are more consistent. Added a few more hashcodes to the fray. One thing I forgot from the last update was that I changed Zell's face to the more serious look across all models for more consistency. I might reupscale a few textures later down the line, but I'll see.

On an unrelated note to this project... Some people are curious how the FF8 backgrounds would look with waifu. It is something I'm working on as well. Just a long and very, /very/ tedious project. So if you want to see, here is a video with some. I'll upload more as I continue with this and getting battle effects/magic upscaled and looking all pretty.

I have the Project Eden mod installed and it does a fine job in refining most backgrounds i've seen (i've seen just the initial part of the game tho, and even found a couple of glitches; no big deal, i'm not complaining ofc, it looks amazing).
But i wonder: is there something wrong with my Project Eden installation, or, are the differences in the 2 screenshots normal? Is all thanks to waifu? If that's the case, wow, so looking forward to that.

So, it is definitely doing its job. But yeah, i got some pixelations here and there but i thought that was normal. Now you're making me doubt.
EDIT: I just realized this is mostly Project Eden-related. I'll go post in the appropriate thread. Sorry for the unintentional off topic, but the news about this waifu stuff were very interesting.

Might be a collision with a hashmap due to him using the Italian Version... or could just be a lack of collisions.csv and hash2map.csv

OH! That's your problem.  Get rid of hash1map - it's the original tonberry hashmap and will cause collisions.

I think part of why the video screenshot is washed out is due to the recording and rendering software I was using, too. It wasn't playing nice during this. Looking at your screenshot, it appears that the area you're in is missing a hashcode. Getting it should fix the problem. I've been grabbing all the missing hashes for English as I do this since it's missing hashes as well. But I assume Italian has it's own set of codes?

I believe this is an issue with SOME problems with ProjectEden - and some missed collisions, etc.  Also - this may be an issue with the language you're using.  I'm not sure.  It should be able to be fixed, but it's an arduous process and I have no time to help, currently.

And I digress - I don't want to flood this post with any more eden stuff.  Sorry, FC :)

Nah, it's cool. It's nice to see the conversation for FF8 start back up again. ;) Once I make more progress, I'll make a separate thread regarding the waifu fields.

Hello there.

I've noticed that when a character is petrified, textures get reverted to their unmodified status.

It's funny to see the transition from HD to 1998 graphics when a character gets turned into stone and back, but I was wondering if there is something that can be done about it. Any ideas?

Besides that, as a personal preference, the clothes shouldn't be petrified, I think, when a character is petrified, just the "flesh". Can that be done too via mods?

No problem. :) They just have their own set of codes. So, unlike effects like aura, it has it's own unique set of textures. Which means I need to make the HD textures to appear to have the same effect. Like stone and dark green.

Thanks. :) It's not too complicated. You just go into the Tonberry folder and remove the zero from the "debug" folder. Start up your game, best in windowed mode, and just go into the areas the textures aren't replaced. They'll show up inside "nomatch", I think the folder is called? Use Berrymapper to hash the textures and put the hash codes in the RF hash map making sure to put the correct name/for the corresponding texture in front of the code.

Everything looks right to me... Unless I'm missing something. The game switches between low poly and high poly models is all. So models change depending on the areas you're in.

I believe you can make it all high poly, but no guarantee there aren't glitches and I never tested or made a hashmap for it.

But know that using the upscaled textures will show some UV errors that even non-upscaled characters have. You can see what I mean with the pictures I've added to the download page.

I've also split up the textures into different downloads rather than one big one. Just to lessen the file size to download. I've also touched up some other textures. And...that should be it, I think.

Sadly not... I tried, but I ran into collision problems. Some codes with Petrify, Zombie, and just the normal textures are duplicated. Meaning some petrified textures will show on Zombie and vice versa. So I had to abandon it for now. :( If Tonberry ever gets updated again, I might be able to pull it off.

I was thinking this same thing.  I might give my own artistic skills a go at this one and update all of the faces and 'redraw' them based 100% on the original textures.. more like a re-creation than an upscale, but with the 'feel' of an upscale.

I can definitely help out with this.  I have several texturing programs, and if I could get my hands on a good obj of the characters, then I could easily retexture them... however - the obj's available out there all have UV's that are offset. (outside of the normal UVW range) - and if the UVs are off, then my texturing process is borderline useless.  That being said, I can always help whip up a 'mix'

FYI - just tossed an 'uncensored' version of Gerogero to FatedCourage!  I hope it makes it out for the next release of Rebirth Flame!  I can always drop it here if that's more convenient.

I looked at references and tried my own hand at the recolorization, using the GeroGero in the latest mod, seeing as how I can't seem to find the japanese textures for him. lol.

Also, got Noesis up and working, with all game folders unpacked, etc. - and I'm going to start reskinning the models immediately.

Updated Rinoas model a bit, made her more pale, her blue outfits lighter and a new texture for shooting star

Yes I will post them tomorrow, just been messing with one set of textures for now until its perfect, otherwise I have to keep redoing them each time

Okay!, i really like the new skin color (more pale  ;D), and the lighter blue outfit, about the shooting star the one of the mod was too dark, but yours it's completly white, any chance to make it look more like the original one?

Mmh, not like that, i mean like the mod one but a little more lighter! , don't know if it's a more complex work, in that case you can always release the shooting star from the original mod but with the improved color skin and dress :)

Edit: anyway i've done a search on google images and most of the cosplayers use a completely white shooting star like yours, so i think it's okay!, do the improvements at your liking, because it's your "edit" after all, it's good for me like the one in the first image, looking forward the complete release tomorrow :lol:

How can I fix this?

Whoa whoa whoa I don't think this file is good to use to fix the intro.  I would get rid of it if I were you, guys.  There are some issues with collisions for other languages, etc.

It was meant to be a quick fix for this guy. I didn't think it'd show up here. :P It will work on English, but I can't say the same for all languages.

That actually happens with Lunar Cry in use. But it's really my fault because that means I missed a hashcode for Irvine there that would prevent that. :P

That's why we've got to either have all objcodes or all hashcodes :/ -- objcodes work for the entire game unless overridden by other objcodes.  hashcodes are the same way, but they vary per scene/disk/language.  not sure if objcodes are the same for all languages, but lunar cry seems to have the least problems replacing textures out of the box, but because of it's determination to ALWAYS replace a mesh ID unless told otherwise, made it really hard to work with until this point.  I think if we had all objcodes mapped (characters, npcs, enemies/bosses) that we could reduce the amount of actual codes we use by a LOT, which will also make getting new codes easier when tonberry gets its update (i'm working on trying to get people involved).
Maybe it's time to get the objcodes working???? Message me on twitter or discord and let me know when you might have time to live/voice chat so that we can sort some of this stuff out.  I was even thinking of getting some documentation together.

I have a question...it's a small thing but I want to ask you. I installed the Upscaled version of the textures, everything works but the texture is fixed, in the sense that in the original, sometimes, the characters blinked their eyes. With this mod it doesn't happen. How can I solve it?
