Title: FF9 Fields Viewer
Post by: Zidane_2 on 2008-11-04 14:37:17
Ok, I really finds structure of fields data for viewing
(http://img61.imageshack.us/img61/7088/zzzzzzzzzzzzzjz8.jpg)

And we can name field files.

Program for viewing fields:
http://zidane_games.webhost.ru/tilemaps_0.5.rar (http://zidane_games.webhost.ru/tilemaps_0.5.rar)

With viewer in arch i put FF9_img_extract tool, for splitting FF9 img file.

For view fields:
Start program and select any file in folder "4" (extracted from FF9)

arrow keys for change position of field image
space - screenshot
enter - select other file
1,2,3...0 - change tile set, if presented more than 1

Zidane, you're the one who added what's currently on FF9 wiki I guess?
If anyone can edit then I should add some stuff from my old documents that I have... if I can find time for the sometime :o

Good work on this tool btw ;)

Well now that you asked ... try FF9 Models: How did Zande go about viewing them? (http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=7168.0), and Zande also added some information to ff9.img directories and files (http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=5481.0) and you can forget FF IX Stuff (http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=3058.0).
There you go.

I see that you can view a field's various tilesets and that the various states cycling over and over (EX doors opening). This is cool in seeing the states being animated but I wonder if it's possible to either freeze the animation in place or to select each state individually, toggling it on or off like with myst6re's Makou Reactor or Deling viewers.

Either that or to extract a field's entire corresponding state collection to .bmp.

Zidane_2 has not logged in for about six months, and this thread hasn't been active for about four and a half years. I'm gonna go ahead and close it. I'll reopen it if I get a PM from Zidane_2, but otherwise it's going nowhere. ~Covarr
