Bug report

Excelent work on the res change! I'm astonished, I must say.
That being said, I dunno if this is a problem with my system or a general problem with this patch. Whenever I quit the game, it doesn't quit. The window closes, but the process remains (I have to kill it by hand via CTRL + ALT + Del). My system specs:

Semprom 2800+
WinXP Professional
ATI Radeon 9200 AGP (running FF7 as nVidia TNT with compatibility with win98/ME)

I figured this could be an unhandled exception caused by my board not being compatible with nVidia's TNT. But then again, I believe you changed the routines to non-specific cards (or else I don't think it'd be running), so, I don't relaly know what's going on ;).

Thanks in advance for any fixes in this, and keep up the good work!

Becuase Ultima is the pirated version of it with missing files and all that crap.

If you lost a disc you should have backed up ISO's on your HD like what I did.

Thank you for this patch. I don't really notice the blocky backgrounds so much, so it's not really a problem. Though it would be nice if you got that other 'hack' working correctly.

My game looks really good now, with FSAA and everything. I couldn't do this with my old Geforce 6200.. I can now, moved to a Radeon X1600 pro. Great card. :)

Can you please go into more detail

You should include:

Your system Spec
Patches you've installed.
Also What do you mean by ff7 doesn't startup. Do you get an error message or a blank screen. In the latter case have you tried just presing enter a few seconds after starting ff7, this normally brings up the new game menu.

Does your monitor support 1280x960 resolution? Did you set the appropriate video mode in FF7Config?

If it's anything higher than 17", it should support 1280x960.

Besides, I'd imagine a "Out of Range" kinda message to come up if it's not supported.

This patch looks mighty good - I'll apply it when I get home. I bet the backgrounds are pretty blocky, being double the pixels and all, right? They're bad enough on 640x480!  :-D I wouldn't dream of turning on FSAA though. I have to turn it off every time I wanna play F.E.A.R. which looks turd with it on.

yup
Set your screen resolution to 1280x960 and make a screenshot with your control panel open (the easiest way - press the "Print Screen" key, open MSPaint and paste the image from the clipboard). Post it here (the link to image) or send it to me via email. I'll link to a possible fix then :P

Yeah. I'm puzzled why the image resolution is 800x600, but whatever. I assumed you were using a 5:4 LCD (which you aren't using apparently), and thought that it's just a not supported resolution problem.

You might want to check the 1280x1024 fix for HiRes (small chances that it will work :P) or running FF7 in a window ( search for Cetra) - set a color depth to 16 bits before running FF7.
