Hardly... it's an error I (and everyone I poked) hadn't seen before, so sharing your solution helps us all:)

Glad I could help, then, and thanks so much for poking people on my behalf lol - much appreciated.

7th Heaven / Re: 7th Heaven 1278 Error - HELP! (Fixed)
« on: 2019-08-29 02:53:22 »
Think I found the answer to my own issue - just posting it in case anyone else has a 1278 error NOT solved by changing the resolution in the FF7.exe file.  I changed my Aali driver settings from 'Full Screen' to 'Windowed' and entered my full screen resolution size manually so I'm not losing anything as far as actual screen size goes... so far this seems to have fixed it.  Hopefully I didn't jinx things by sharing :).

7th Heaven / 7th Heaven 1278 Error - HELP!
« on: 2019-08-28 10:43:28 »
I'm afraid I'm a bit desperate for help getting Final Fantasy 7 and 7th Heaven to work CONSISTENTLY - I'm able to get it working, and working beautifully, with every mod that I want, even, but then at some point randomly I'll end up getting a weird error and everything STOPS working even with zero mods enabled.  The error I'm receiving:

System.TimeoutException: Unable to wait for injection completion at EasyHook.RemoteHooking.CreateAndInject(String in EXEPath, String InCommandLine, Int32 InProcessCreationFlags, InjectionOptions InOptions, String InLibraryPath_x86, String InLibraryPath_x64, Int32&OutProcessId, Object InPassThruArgs)
at EasyHook.RemoteHooking.CreateAndInject(String in EXEPath, String InCommandLine, Int32 InProcessCreationFlags, String InLibraryPath_86, String InLibraryPath_x64, Int32& OutProcessId, Object InPassThruArgs)
at Iros._7th.Workshop.fLibrary.Launch(Boolean varDump, Boolean debug) in C:\Users\TurBoss\Projects\7h\7thWorkshop\fLibrary.cs:line 1278

I did some Google searching for that error and came across the recommendation to set the FF7.exe file to 640x480 resolution and to run 7th Heaven as Admin - this did not work for me (the resolution part, was already running 7th Heaven as Admin).  I then uninstalled the entire game and ran the registry cleaner, and re-installed the game, then re-installed 7th Heaven after running the game converter, etc.  That DID work for me... for a day or so.  Then said above error returned.  I'm completely out of ideas on how to fix this and could really use a hand, or at least a point in the right direction.  Thank you so much for your time anyone who's read this far - and please, if possible, HELP lol.

McMindus - you are my hero.  :)

So - tried GeDoSaTO, but it and Vista did not seem to like each other, as I got bizarre kernel32 errors as soon as I installed it.  I was playing Full Screen the whole time, so I tried Windows just in case- that did not work, of course.  I'd already tried administrator, so I gave Windows XP compatibility a shot but no - no luck there either.  Graphics drivers were already up to date, and up to Directx11.  I actually started downloading Directx9 to see if I could downgrade when trying your processor idea, because to be honest I just didn't see how THAT would do anything... how would giving it LESS processing power make it better?  I'm honestly asking, because as you probably guessed from the happy START to this reply - that fixed it.  I don't get HOW that fixed it, but as soon as I loaded it with just the one CPU enabled it was running faster and even looked clearer.  Got up to the glitch point - and past the glitch point - and then an HOUR past the glitch point... well, I think it's safe to say that seems to have done it.

Thank you SO much - it's very much appreciated.  And my computer appreciates not being thrown out of a window, as well.  But - seriously... how the heck did THAT fix it?  Inquiring minds would like to know.  :)

My computer does not like Tonberry Enhanced.  I've done every trouble-shooting step I can think of to get things to work, and a few I was sure would NOT work, and no matter what I do the game ends up crashing with "unknown exception" errors.  I made a post asking for help in the 'Graphical Mods' section, because at the time I wasn't ENTIRELY sure it was Tonberry, but now - well, I'm sure.  It's definitely Tonberry.  And I don't think it's a fixable issue, at least not by me with my current level of programming skills.

HOWEVER...

Pre-Enhanced Tonberry and my computer got along GREAT.  I got up to disc two using it and the mods at that time, a little over a year ago, I believe.  I actually stopped playing because there were so many great mods in progress and, darn it, I wanted to be using them.  So I figured I'd wait awhile and go back to it when said mods were done.  There is some irony there, alas.  LOL.  SO - to circle around my long-winded way to the point - exactly how complicated would it be to take the current hashmaps, and convert them BACK into one file for old Tonberry to read?  Is it a matter of copy and pasting, i.e. something I can accomplish on my own?  Or are we talking major re-writing of said hashmaps and I'd be better off just waiting another year until I can actually afford a new computer?

Troubleshooting / Re: FF8 Mod/Seifer Issue
« on: 2015-11-22 12:09:23 »
And the mystery continues...  My sister and I share an apartment, so she has her own log-in name on my computer.  I went to start weeding through the mods one by one as you suggested, only she was still logged in.  On a whim I figured I'd try it from her name instead of mine and, what do you know? It worked. LOL. Ofcourse  this isn't the name I INSTALLED the darn game under so why it would behave on hers and not mine is beyond me.

Oh well, the important thing is I can get back to enjoying everyone's awesome mods in peace, I guess.  And I know to switch names if I get any more "unknown exceptions".... yeah.  I don't get it.  *sigh*  But thank you very much for your help - it's much appreciated.  Though it doesn't really matter now: yep, it's the English version of the game, and no, I didn't intentionally delete the "debug" folder - must've gotten lost somewhere in the upgrading from 1.4 to the latest Tonberry.  I'll put it back where it belongs - and if I encounter any problems that CAN'T be mysteriously solved by my sisters Windows log-in I know where to go.  :)

Troubleshooting / Re: FF8 Mod/Seifer Issue
« on: 2015-11-21 13:52:48 »

Thanks so much for the quick reply, but unfortunately none of your suggestions fixed the problem - I'm still getting "an unknown exception" error the moment Seifer is supposed to show up.  I took screenshots of the relevant folders to see if you or anyone else can pinpoint some glaring installation error that I'm missing.  *crosses fingers*

In the "objmap" folder of Tonberry I only have your "LunarCry_obj.csv" file and nothing else, so I didn't bother with that one.  Any ideas would be appreciated since at this point the only thing I can think of is to disable all mods until I'm past this scene... but if it's an issue with Seifer in general and not just something about this scene in particular that won't really help.  Thanks for your time either way - and I absolutely adore your mods. :)

Troubleshooting / FF8 Mod/Seifer Issue
« on: 2015-11-21 00:54:36 »
I'm having an issue with a Final Fantasy 8 mod... I think it may possibly be RebirthFlame that's the culprit, but I'm not positive.  I'm not far into the game at all when the problem occurs.  Squall goes down to the lobby to meet Quistis before the first Seed mission, she introduces Zell then tells them both that Seifer is going to be their squad leader.  As soon as Seifer is supposed to enter the scene I get "an unknown exception" error.  I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the game and all mods, since I definitely had an old version of Tonberry to start out with, but that didn't correct the issue.  Any suggestions?

They're not dead. Omzy has a very busy life of work, but he always reappears when things die down. He's been active since the beginning of time here, so it's just a matter of being patient. Plus, we can't expect one man to find every file location for every texture and do it in a timely fashion. When he released Tonberry, he asked that we help him find those locations and send him the information accordingly. Then he does his part with Tonberry to make it compatible with a modders textures. It's all about the community working together.

Okay... so I'm absolutely in love with these character mods.  They must be in the game, darn it.  :)  I'm thinking of tracking down the needed file info, but I wanted to check first - is there anyone who's working on this yet?

I'm not having any game issues - yay! - so this isn't a very important question.  I was wondering if there's a way to install Grimmy's Tifa upgrade manually without having Yuffie installed as well, since Yuffie causes issues/game crashes.  And if not, is there an upgraded Tifa and Yuffie that isn't done by Grimmy somewhere?  I only ask because before I had the Yuffie issue I absolutely adored the Tifa upgrade, and I miss it.  It just seems wrong that Aerith and Cloud look so fantastic and poor Tifa looks like, well, she came from a game done decades ago.  :)

I had the same problem a couple other people have reported, with the game starting to load and then immediately shutting down without any error warnings at all.  After I won the game I'd uninstalled the game/mods and then re-installed with more mods selected and that's when the problems started.  So the first thing I did was the obvious step - uninstall again, re-install with the mods I knew had worked fine last time.  However, the same thing happened - shut down, no warning, as soon as I tried to play.

I finally managed to get it working again by doing a system restore, then uninstalling again, and removing *everything* left over in the game folder.  I also removed the bootloading program itself.  I then re-installed the game, made sure that worked, then unzipped the bootloader program again and re-ran it with the settings I'd used the first time.  That fixed the issue - for me, at least.  Don't know if it'll help anyone else, but I figured I'd share just in case it does.  Good luck, all!  :)

Thank you so much for the fast response, it's much appreciated.   So far kicking Yuffie from the party seems to have done the trick - will see if I can squeak by without using her until I finish my first play-through, then re-install.  Even if I can't, I'm glad it's a simple fix either way.  Thanks again.  :)

Looks like I may have spoken too soon on that "everything is running perfectly" thing.  :)  I am hoping this is a very simple fix, however, as everything HAS been running absolutely beautifully up until now.  I'm on disc two, and I need to climb the great glacier.  I get up the glacier, and into the cave.  As soon as the game has to load a fight scene in the cave, however, I get a crash error message.  I've tried a couple things to fix it, which I barely managed to undo, so I figured I'd best ask the experts and give up on trying to do it myself.  :)

I'm on Windows Vista.  Below is a copy of the app.log:

Don't know if that helps or not, but figured I'd include it just in case.  Any help would, of course,  be extremely appreciated.

I'm currently in the middle of playing FF7 for the first time.  After playing the game without any additions for the first few hours, I was pretty much dying for an upgrade and a friend linked me here.  I have to admit, at first I was a little uncertain - that many mods?!  In my experience the more mods you have on a game, the more you can expect it to crash.  I figured I'd give it a shot, though, and just back-up my saved games so I could reinstall after the inevitable disaster.  So you can imagine how delighted I was by the fact that there was NO disaster.  Everything installed quickly and beautifully with your mod-manager program.  The game looks a thousand times better, and I haven't had a single solitary glitch.  Of course, that could change as I am still playing it - but either way, I'm impressed and so very, very grateful this management program is here.  It allows those of us who are not experts at mod-installation to get everything working quickly and easily, and it's freakin' fantastic.  So thank you SO much, both for making it, and for keeping it up to date in the face of dead links and disappearing files.  It's much appreciated.
