Got a link to an article, web page or YouTube video you'd like to share, but which probably doesn't justify a thread of its own? Post it here.

Maybe don't buy it for now. (http://store.steampowered.com/eula/39140_eula)
Or do. But that EULA seems to be pretty new, so maybe they're bringing it to Steam? Without SecuROM? *crosses fingers*
edit: Or the fact that the game's Steam Registry entry (http://steamdb.info/app/39140/) was updated just yesterday. It was one thing when it was sitting untouched; I just assumed they'd planned on a Steam release and changed their minds. But this is current activity.
-
.
-
Well, when the 2012 version was released, it was after they'd not touched the steam entries for the game for like a year. Right now, it's clear they're actively doing things with it; they added achievements to the steam version just last month, something I doubt they'd do if they didn't plan on actually selling/releasing it. It's downright wasteful to throw man-hours at updates for something nobody has that you don't plan on selling.

I share it because I am currently listening to it ;) Great song, which imho makes a surprise in this day and age. Didn't realise it made N1 in US too.
"One minute I held the key, next the walls were closed on me, and I discovered that my castle stands upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand."

Don't let me stay, don't let me stay, my logic says burn, so send me away.
Your minds are too green, I despise all I've seen, you can't stake your lives on a saviour machine.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-AMec7yr7c
I think this is one of the most underrated of Bowie's songs. It tells the story of a machine that was created to take the place of all major human decisions, but it soon gets bored and begs to be shut down. It threatens that if it isn't, it will deliberately give faulty decisions to harm mankind.
President Joe once had a dream
The world held his hand, gave their pledge
So he told them his scheme for a Saviour Machine
They called it the Prayer, its answer was law
Its logic stopped war, gave them food
How they adored till it cried in its boredom
'Please don't believe in me, please disagree with me
Life is too easy, a plague seems quite feasible now
or maybe a war, or I may kill you all
Don't let me stay, don't let me stay
My logic says burn so send me away
Your minds are too green, I despise all I've seen
You can't stake your lives on a Saviour Machine
I need you flying, and I'll show that dying
Is living beyond reason, sacred dimension of time
I perceive every sign, I can steal every mind

David Bowie is a phenomenon. Have any of you guys ever seen him in the movie "The Man who Fell to Earth"? 1976... Slightly creepy. He is fantastic in that film, in my opinion. It is so artsy it would probably make most people vomit, but I like old strange things. ::) Was shocked a pop star was capable of such depth when I saw it. Then I got into more and more of his music. His career, his style, his voice--unique.
Other pop stars who make surprisingly good actors (subjective so yeah, some of this is crap probably and I have bad taste):
Cher - "Moonstruck" - Nick Cage is good in this. He lost the edge somewhere later. Also - "Mask", good performance from the singer, but inevitably mellow-dramatic film.
Mark Wahlberg - Can't recommend "The Basketball Diaries" unless you already know a little about heroin or Jim Carroll (early 80s punk song--"People who Died"--he did in 2009) and Marky Mark is barely in this, but Leonardo Di Carpio is surprisingly authentic in his role as Carroll. Did Wahlberg maybe buy an extra soul to work with somewhere between "Boogie Nights" and "The Fighter"?
Tina Turner - "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome" - Well, she's had it pretty rough, guys. She was friends with Ayrton Senna and that's enough for me.
Sting - Despite his rather lazy and disinterested performance in "Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" one can never forget his appearance wearing a Batman-style speedo in David Lynch's "Dune".
Iggy Pop - Considering he is famous for being impossible to work with, this guy is super busy on the American TV scene. Personally I think he deserves a mention simply for having a credited cameo role in "The Color of Money", a film that helped solidify Tom Cruise's career not just as a pretty face, but a methodical actor.
Barbara Streisand & Bette Midler - Together because they are fantastic on screen, in the studio, and on stage. It's a bit unfair that Barbara is now probably known by several generations only as Grandma Focker, and that Bette is probably hardly remembered at all, although she was Johnny Carson's last guest and sang him a lovely farewell. Midler is pretty unforgettable in "Scenes from a Mall", if you can stand Woody Allen's movies.
Ringo Starr - Failures like his title role in "Caveman" can not possibly take away from the undeniable success that is sure to be "Powerpuff Girls: Dance Pants R-EVIL-ution", which is soon to be released. But we shouldn't overlook his role for 20 episodes as Mr. Conductor of the Shining Time Station show.
Prince - Purple Rain. Please. Dude was definitely in his prime and the performance is stellar.
Tom Waits - Not exactly a pop star, not exactly a serious actor, either. But the camera likes him even if his face is worn, or maybe because of it. "The Book of Eli" is made more interesting for adding his characteristically hoarse voice. If you look close, you may catch him in an uncredited role as a homeless person in "The Fisher King", a film worthy of Waits's soulful approach to everything.
Meatloaf - Staggering filmography goes from "Rocky Horror Picture Show" to "Fight Club" to, oh, let's just not talk about what happened with Gary Busey.
-
Meatloaf is a real maverick. Not surprised at all he can act. Still haven't seen Man Who Fell To Earth with Bowie. In fact, only film I've seen him in is Labyrinth. Excellent movie, and Jackson was considered for the role too haha.
Thanks for those!

Over the pond, you guys may(?) not have heard about Chris Eubank, but he is a legend. One of the greatest Middleweights I have ever seen, and my favourite boxer. His rivalry with Nigel Benn is also legendary. Sadly, both boxers suffered depression when they tragically brain damaged their opponents. Eubank was never the same after that and wouldn't commit to landing the types of punch you can see above. And that really marked the end of him as a deadly fighter, even though he still won most of his bouts after that. He stayed on a little too long towards end of his career when he was way past his prime. But in his prime he had no equal. Cast iron jaw, good footwork, great defence and attack, and a ferocious ego and will to win. I think this knock-out still stands as one of the fastest (someone told me 6th fastest) in the history of the sport.

Survival. You know how I learned that? Mother Nature. You know I realised that I am not separate from nature just because I have a primate brain, an upper brain, because underneath the primate brain there's a mammalian brain, and under the mammalian brain there's a reptilian brain, and it's those 2 lower brains that made the upper brain possible in the first place. Here's how it works:
The primate brain says "Give peace a chance".
The mammalian brain says "Give peace a chance, but first let's kill this mother-fucker"!
And the reptilian brain says "Let's just kill the mother-fucker, go to the peace rally and get laid".
Because the first obligation of any organism is to survive, the second is to reproduce; survival is more important than fucking. Pacifism is a nice idea, but it can get you killed. We're not there yet folks; evolution is slow, Small Pox is fast.

Did you contact Steam support to ask for a refund? As it's now a week later, you might not even get a refund.
Surely common sense would kick in to contact support for either Steam or Squeenix.
-
Steam was not involved... I did that via the Mog Station but got confused with the upgrading option. I didn't know who to contact but I'm pretty sure they would assume the same think like the users who support them. That's not the point. I lost 15 euros so what... the point is the flaming I get from users who prefer to support a company who doesn't even respect the FF principles any more... and rips them off for a lifetime... They are defending them with teeth and nails like they are getting paid to represent the company... and getting so offensive and insulting... it's literally crazy... I just made a statement... If I read such a post and don't agree I would just ignore it.

I've just been to have my hair chopped (what little remains), and that's where I saw the biggest gay lord ever. A 14 year old (or so) male who actually brought in a picture of what he would like doing (some ridiculous hair cut to make him look "hip"), and sat there complaining that the sun had "ruined" his hair whilst on holiday. I had to sit there listening to the little tit going on like some little girl about it. The most laughable comment of all, as he sat there with what looked like perfect hair, was: "I don't know what I am going to do about it [his "ruined" hair]. It just hasn't been the same since the sun got to it."
BWAHAHAHAHAHA! I bet you never go bald, gay lord!
Clearly, years of socialist propaganda has turned a lot of the male population into a vain, blubbering mess. I await the day that we see men going in for a pedicure in droves. The ultimate irony is, I have never given a shit about that poxy vain bullshit, and yet it is me who loses my hair. Not that little FANNY.
When I was a kid, the last thing I gave a shit about was my hair, or what style it had, or god-forbid, the dreaded SUN DAMAGE. No, I was too busy playing games, having fun around fires pissed with my cousins, making dens, climbing on factory roofs, and generally acting like a kid and not a fucking PANSY.
I hope that little tit, and all vain bastards like him, have some vicious disease that makes every last strand fall out.
The human race needs to buck up or shut the fuck up. There are people suffering and dying all over the world. People who can't get to clean water, and this guy's biggest worry is that his hair is a little dry.

http://thelifestream.net/forums/showthread.php?t=15931
This kind of thing. Seems to be prevalent among most "hardcore" gaming forums. I guess Qhimm.com gets away with it because the intelligence level is higher? People come here to mod the game, and are more open minded? I dunno...
But I can't wrap my head around what it takes to display this level of fanboyism. It's literally insane. A whole community discussing characters like they are real... I mean, I understand discussing fiction in a serious way... but this isn't on the same level. It's basically denying the existence of fallible writers entirely.
Is this some sort of psychosis?

UK football is just a money paradise... and most sports have sold their soul to the devil.
Your not an atheist?
-
It's a figure of speech, but I am not an atheist, no. I believe that there is something higher than us (what that is, or how it is, I do not know. And no, not a man with a beard) But it isn't any known religion, and is likely nothing we can possibly conceive of. Religion is man made and fake (a desperate human effort to understand the world, and a fear of dying). And even given that I believe there is something, of some nature, higher than us (or outside of our laws), that does not mean I believe in afterlife. I believe that in all probability, we are either some sort of entertainment, or else a small piece of a much larger puzzle.
The reason I am not an atheist is they are almost as closed minded as religionists. The difference is their religion is science. And the problem with that is, almost certainly how we came to be, transcends science. Science can only explain the here and now of our universe. It cannot explain where and how the laws of science came into being, or what was before the universe. And so science is ultimately meaningless in the grand scheme of things. We are 3 dimensional beings trying to understand a realm that lies well beyond what our small puny senses can tell us.
In fact, humans are searching in vain for answers, and upon death, it's likely all they will find is oblivion. Note that belief in some sort of higher being, or higher intelligence, or construct outside of our known laws, does not have to mean belief in a god, or an afterlife. It's this that Atheists find hard to grasp.
-
I'm an atheist (and I'm certainly not the only one (http://youtube.com/user/TheAmazingAtheist)) but far from being closed-minded. I'm actually one of the most open-minded in the people I know. I don't mind religion or any kind of beliefs. It's your life, you're free to believe (or not believe) whatever the hell you want, I don't care. The moment I start to care is when you try to forcefully shove your religion/beliefs up my throat. Before that I'm fine. And I agree with DLPB on that, religion is man-made. People are free to go by it as they want to, of course. Maybe there's a higher power (as I said I'm really open-minded), greater or whatever, but as of today I don't believe it. And that's my right.
It's everyone's right to believe in whatever they want.
-
See that's my problem with Atheism, right there. It says "I don't believe it". Instead of "I don't know, and can probably never know. So I don't take a position on it."
Religion on the other hand says, "I do know. My book tells it me."
Religion is surely the worse of the two, but Atheism is far too arrogant as well.
Given everything, and the sheer lack of evidence, the more logical stance is to not take a stance. To simply accept that any of the known ideas may be right at different degrees of likelihood, but that we will probably never know. Having any kind of belief with the lack of evidence we have, is quite amusing to me. We are no more educated than a goldfish swimming around a bowl, wondering why there is a castle at the bottom.
-
Haha... with this belief you would be a good Orthodox Christian though Sir! :)
-
I'm an I'll believe it when I see it kind of guy.
-
I'm an I'll believe it when I see it kind of guy.
So you believe in magic and media? I mean both are illusions and tricks your brain.
-
Magic and media are much easier to explain than half the shit that happens in that there book.
-
Not at the moment you see it, you can only guess how the trick works or what the truth behind it is. And I suppose you believe more in your guess as what your eyes do told you. I only want to say that the way 'I only trust in what I see' is the same dangerous way as 'I only trust in what I believe'.
A healthy mixture of both is necessary.
We can explain the universe with math, but we can't explain the soul with it, for this we need philosophy. By the way this is an elemental question for the future: Where does living begin?
For your eyes a computer is a thing, but in future when you talk with him or when he makes his own decisions, would you still call it a thing or would you believe he is more?
It impossible to live without to believe in something, which needs your imaginary to let it exist and maybe that's why a computer can't live.
So a joke at the end because I didn't know if computer is either masculine, feminine or neuter.

A computer is masculine. Because that's how it is in French. And because someone said it in a book, so it must be true!

Some Black Mages tracks I uploaded years ago, basically its a band Uematsu formed which does remixes of classic FF tracks, including OWA from Advent Children. If you haven't heard them before here's a few of my favorites:
Dancing Mad from FFVI, their best one IMO:

Well, the Advent Children music was played by the Black Mages (although not alone), not remade. The Skies Above is their best IMO.

If that title doesn't tell you what kind of shoddy piece of strawberries this is likely to be, nothing will. HAHAHA!
I dunno about that. I mean, yeah, the title is crap, but I'd not be surprised if it was chosen by marketing goons. But the screenplay itself is being by Abrams (who is very hit or miss, and not really a reliable indicator of good or bad) and LAWRENCE FREAKIN' KASDSAN, who was the driving creative force behind The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Kasdan's involvement can only lead to a good movie.
-
I am less optimistic. I don't think it's likely that you can make a self-contained story carry on without immense skill. I see this being more of the same - action sequences at the expense of narrative. I will be happy to come back here and eat humble pie if wrong.
-
I don't think it's likely that you can make a self-contained story carry on without immense skill.
I completely agree with this, but allow me to point out that Star Wars was original conceived as a self-contained story in the first place (in spite of what Lucas may have claimed later), modeled point-for-point after Joseph Campbell's Monomyth (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monomyth). And you know who successfully carried it on? Lawrence Kasdan. See, re-opening a closed story is specifically a skill he has experience with.
But among other things, I get the distinct impression this isn't even meant as a continuation so much as a completely new story set in the same universe, with some common characters. If this is indeed the case, it'll be much harder to mess it up.
At any rate, there's no way in hell it'll be as bad as the prequel trilogy, because Lucas isn't being allowed anywhere near this.
-
modeled point-for-point after Joseph Campbell's Monomyth
Looks like the story of Cloud ...
-
modeled point-for-point after Joseph Campbell's Monomyth (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monomyth).
It's a shame that Monomyth got popularised in the way that it did. A lot of the problems you see in modern story-telling for films, and games, seems to stem from writers slavishly sticking to that (or to the modernised version they use in certain studios as a blueprint anyway). And considering the background it's coming from, the new Star Wars film will definitely follow the formula but it'll be up to the director, Kasdan, and creative to develop the story to the point where each 'phase' in that formula at least flows naturally into the next or is developed and altered enough that they can be used in different and effective ways.
If instead they do stuff like equate 'The Trials' with 'main dude fights a bunch of CGI monsters' or have a 'refusal of the call' purely because the formula has one (rather than because it has something valid to add to the story) then who knows. There'll definitely be some big battle sequence somewhere that's too cluttered with details to have a proper impact though, because focus groups seem to have a blind spot for that sort of thing. My 2 cents.
-

I dunno, Kasdan has a history of not using Monomyth for this franchise. It was obviously a focal point of the original movie, which Lucas "wrote", but The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi both very much don't use it. Hell, Empire begins a new story in media res and with the hero's main struggle being whether or not he's even ready, both of which fundamentally go against Monomyth at a pretty basic level.
-
Hopefully that'll be the case, but I'm thinking about the director and the studio in particular putting pressure on. I'm also worried about Kasdan himself, his last film wasn't very well received (Darling Companion) and he's actually been quite good with that genre in the past (French Kiss was a good film for instance) so I'm wondering if he's still got it or not. If he hasn't, he might find himself deferring more to Abrams (who as I understand it is also one of the co-writers), who has been seen to use Monomyth, and Disney pretty much helped to make that an industry standard to begin with; they've been using it for decades, so you can bet money that anyone else they bring in for creative, any of their own people, will be at the very least aware of it, if not drilled on it.
One thing to note though is that there's a difference between the original Monomyth that was written by Joseph Campbell and the modern one, which was adapted for commercial use. Because the commercial one has had a lot of success in the past, and because Star Wars cost a lot to acquire and is guaranteed to draw an audience, they'll be wanting to hit a home run on it. That means repeat-viewings, toys/merch, DVDs (or, y'know, digital sales). And the trend in recent years for big budget films aimed at being blockbusters is to play it safe (which means formula).
Another worry I've got is that they picked up Kasdan and others more for marketing purposes. If you look at the prequels from a business perspective, they'll be looking at ways to repair the damage. Star Wars is a guaranteed hot property, but they'll be wanting to maximise the revenue they get and that means repairing trust in the franchise. And a way of doing that is picking up people involved with the original trilogy, as if to say this is going to be a lot more like those films; it's trying to give this new trilogy an early sense of success through association.
But I guess we'll see what happens. Not personally looking forward to seeing old Harrison Ford though; nowadays he seems to suck all the energy out of every scene he's in. It's painful to see him in films nowadays and then thinking back to something like The Fugitive.

Time for one of my pet hates:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-30630649
"She says she's thankful to god, but her heart goes out to those who have lost their loved ones on the flight."
Only religion can make someone say something this stupid. You are thankful to god that you didn't get on it, but at the same time you don't see a contradiction that he allowed over 100 others to die. Dear "lord". Think about what you are saying, you stupid woman. It had nothing to do with "god" - it was chance. You got lucky and they didn't.
----------------
I see this an AWFUL LOT after disasters. It's usually the people who actually survive a crash that come out with the worst nonsense - "God was looking out for me."
If they thought about what that means logically (that he wasn't looking out for the other 100+) then perhaps they'd not say it. Maybe.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-31146418
-
You are aware it's steam, not smoke, right?
The big issue with vaping isn't that it's inherently unhealthy, but that all the crap in the liquids is unhealthy. It's theoretically possible to make a perfectly safe liquid for vaping, not so with anything that involves literal smoke.
-
Pretty sure even steam would have an adverse effect on the lungs long term... but this is certainly not just pure steam. It has nicotine in it for starters....
The point is, it is just trading one noxious substance for another, so I am at a loss where the surprise is. I've no doubt they are safer than ordinary cigs (although there are a few articles that don't agree even there), but people seem to have deluded themselves into believing that e-cigs are "safe".

I continually find myself racking my brain at how thick people are and why. What did they expect to happen? What did this parent expect would happen if she sent her kid into school looking like that? And just how has she made the BBC headlines? There are tons of kids sent home for failure to adhere to the dress code. Usually it's girls wearing skirts so short they might as well be coming to school in their knickers, or kids that dye their hair. They don't make the BBC pages.

I expect this won't go down well with some here, but it's my opinion and food for thought, no?
Good Movie Ruined by Left-Wing Bias and Smugness.
12 Angry Men is entertaining, mostly well acted, and worth a watch (although it has no replay value unless you are a Lib-Left luvvie). It could have been far better but, from the outset, the film was designed only to take a pot-shot at the Right, and promote a Left Wing Progressive viewpoint as the absolute truth. This story is hardcore propaganda and, judging by its score on IMDB, has succeeded in fooling a great number of people. What is interesting to me is that the Left-wing's brainwashing started so early. Hollywood is still churning out the same bias today (go and read my Dark Knight review).
The movie has a very interesting premise: An open-and-shut case is called in to question when one man on the twelve-man jury slowly convinces the others that the eighteen year old on trial for the murder of his father may, in fact, be innocent. That's got some real potential, hasn't it? Sadly, the gone-in-the-head Leftist who wrote this did what I feared he would: loaded the dice and peddled a Leftist agenda - namely one that excuses criminals of their actions and seeks to end the death penalty. That's the film's overwhelming goal. It wants the audience to come away from the movie, not with a greater appreciation of the legal system, but with the view that the death penalty should be abolished and that anyone who objects to this is a deluded, little bigot. I'll come to why this film is dangerous to society later but, for now, let's look at the facts we are given:
[Spoilers from here on]
1. An 18 year old is on trial for the murder of his father. He has no alibi. The alibi he gave to police (that he was in a theatre the whole time) fell apart when he could not recall anything about the movies that were showing - even their names.
2. There are two main witnesses: One saw the defendant leaving the scene of the crime (and heard the event); the other saw the murder take place through a window and identified the defendant. The defendant was also heard shouting in anger 'I'm gonna kill you', the same day as the murder.
3. The knife (with a very rare design) used in the murder is the same knife that the defendant had bought earlier and was carrying around. His friends testified to this effect.
4. The defendant is an habitual criminal who has had numerous run-ins with the law, including two arrests for knife fighting. He is said to be 'real handy with a knife'.
5. The defendant has a clear motive: His father was repeatedly violent and abusive towards him, and had beaten him regularly (with fists) since he was five years of age, including the day of the murder. He had also threatened his father that very day.
I was intrigued. Why does this one juror believe the defendant may not be guilty? How could he convince the rest that there is reasonable doubt? Despite the fact I feared these questions would receive fob-offs, I was still hopeful an intelligent investigation would be crafted around them. But no. Straight away, the film deliberately loads the dice by having certain jurors holding prejudiced or otherwise undesirable traits, while the dissenting voice is calm, collected, and supremely open-minded. That's a cliche, and a very common Leftist tactic (you'll see it a lot on shows like Star Trek).
The film takes each of the facts above and finds an alternate explanation for them (usually absurd), such as the knife could have fallen out of the defendants pocket and the true murderer used an identical knife (this is the fantastic explanation given by our Leftist hero). The film has a moronic moment when the 'hero' pulls out a knife he has bought (illegally), which appears identical to the one in question. The idea being that it isn't so rare after all. What a cheap cop-out (and absurd on so many other levels).
There are also a few silly moments, like the jury discussing why the defendant would come home a few hours later if he had indeed done the crime. Not one of them mentions that the defendant lives there and would have to come back home in order to allay fears that he was the murderer. It's part of an alibi. It's what any murderer would do in this situation. What else is he going to do, disappear and hope that the police don't find that a tad suspicious? Nearly every explanation given in favour of the defendant is absurd or complete conjecture.
When you string all the known facts together, the chances of them all being explained away in a fashion that exonerates the defendant is literally millions to one. It's so implausible that no sane jury would acquit. But the writer wants this to happen, so it does (and 12-0 in favour, just in case you missed the point). I love it when writers do that. Don't you?
At one point, the following dialogue takes place:
"No-one can know a thing like that; this isn't an exact science."
"That's right, it isn't."
Okay, then, let's just forget putting people on trial because we can hardly ever be 100% sure that they did the crime in question, can we?
So, let me finally come to why this kind of thinking is dangerous to a society: The number of victims created by having no deterrent, or by allowing dangerous criminals to go free, is FAR GREATER than the absolute minority case where an innocent person is found guilty. This is something that the Progressives can never get into their heads, largely because they usually live in rich areas, sheltered from harsher life, and have never been on the receiving end of badness. Well, I have. Some people cannot be reasoned with and are far too broken to be rehabilitated. They are like a dangerous dog - and we all know what we do to those. We don't try to change the nature of a dangerous dog because we know it's futile, and we know that by ignoring the dangerous dog, we are just risking more innocent lives. This really isn't rocket science, it's just that the Leftist types (who have a huge stranglehold on the media/TV) refuse to budge, and muddy the waters with their insane Progressive agenda. Films like this create a huge problem for the law abiding and innocent - one that is largely being ignored.
People cheering this movie are cheering for a violent thug, who got away with first-degree murder. It's not hip, it's just dumb. Wake up.
My rating: 3/5

If you think this happened because of religion you know nothing. I'd better say "Paris: What happens when you allow USA to intervene anywhere, anytime, for the sake of capitalism." And it's ironic the fact that they're killing us with the weapons we sold them.

@JeMaCheHi
So America and other people "intervening" is the reason pretty much every single Islamic country has massive restrictions on freedom and is at war with itself or its neighbours? I'm sorry, but you're just being an apologist. Islam has been waging war since its founder did around 600 AD. It's a key component of the Koran - and I can find you literally hundreds of quotes where this is the case.
Qur'an (5:51) - "O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people."
There isn't a comparable passage to this ANYWHERE in the New Testament (or in the Old actually). And by that I mean direct references to not making friends with specific religions. Or in this manner. The Gospels are almost entirely benign. The Koran is not and it's one message from Allah through Muhammad.
The Hadith is littered with instructions to Muslims on how to "treat" non-Muslims and Jews especially.
Muslim (2167) - "Allah's Messenger said: Do not greet the Jews and the Christians before they greet you and when you meet any one of them on the roads force him to go to the narrowest part of it."
http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/quran/009-friends-with-christians-jews.htm
When I look around the world, all the countries that have evolved past medieval barbarity are nations that embraced Christianity (a much more tolerant religion than Islam, albeit still a load of nonsense), or otherwise embraced a benign philosophy like Buddhism; and the ones who have not are nearly always Islamic. That isn't a coincidence. Blaming Israel, or America, or that boy down the street is simply not going to cut it. Japan, for example, doesn't have gun toting nutcases running down the street killing 100s of people BECAUSE THEY DON'T LET THESE PEOPLE IN. Unlike the liberal West, they're not as dumb as a bunch of rocks.
Moreover, people are taking less and less notice of appeasers and voting for parties that will do something about their weak Leftist countries.
Let me sum it up for you:
Muhammad: Slept with a 9 year old child called Aisha (married her at six)
Jesus: Celibate
Muhammad: Conquered and plundered. Personally murdered people.
Jesus: Rode on a donkey and proclaimed peace. Never killed anyone.
Muhammad: Gave direct instructions to his followers not to tolerate Jews, Christians and Unbelievers.
Jesus: Turn the other cheek. Love thy neighbour.
Whilst the libtard media won't tell you it, the fundamental reason why nearly EVERY atrocity today is being carried about by Islam in dozens of Islamic nations is because of that book. It makes Mein Kampf look like a fairytale and I suggest everyone here go and read up on it.
-
And yeah, for all the ills of having less gun control among citizens, at least the Americans wouldn't be held like lambs to the slaughter in some concert hall. Although, I dread to think what would happen if all the Muslims in Britain had the right to go truck down to a shop and buy a gun. The atrocities wouldn't be as large, but they'd be far more numerous. Especially when you consider some polls show an alarming truth:

@DPLB,
Very well, I'm gonna try to respond your arguments, but I cannot hold a debate on an equal footing because my native language is not English, and I'm not that good with the language. Also, I don't intend to offend anyone, so if anyone feel offended I apologize from this very moment.
So, when I say "this is not about religion" I'm not saying that religion has nothing to do with this, obviously it has. But religion has always been a mass control instrument, not a finality but a tool. And it sounds funny to me when you say Christianism is "a much more tolerant religion than Islam", since christian church has commited the largest genocide in the mankind history, from the middle ages to this time. To mix Christianity and tolerant in the same sentence should be a crime, in fact. Anyway the point here is that religion is not the ultimate cause of this.
To understand what I mean when I say that USA is the culprit, we have to go back to the 70s. During the Cold War, US government needed to stop Soviet Union expansion to the south. Yeah, their expansion and influence to Afghanistan. What did US government? They started to fund rebel factions, and coup d'etats to remove the socialist government. Guess you know they was the ones who trained Bin Laden ah? Obviously their ally was and always will be Saudi Arabia. Here you got a couple of pics dude:
Your president Reagan with the fanatics of Saudi Arabia:
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_-TICiq_l6M/U-W_HP9Go_I/AAAAAAAABEI/sSfEWPUm1Ks/s1600/s_a17_00reagan.jpg
And here you can see how the journals praised the Anti-Soviet hero that the CIA itself trained:
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/B8zrhkcIgAAhT6n.jpg
Cool ah? Now take a look at this photos, the first is a sight of the socialist kabul, and the second the same city after the allies of USA raided it:
Before: http://www.afghan-network.net/Photography/kabul/kabul-paramount.gif
After: http://www.editoweb.eu/nicolas_maury/photo/art/default/5720418-8529061.jpg?v=1374678221
And what do you think about women's freedom? Here you have another before and after photos:
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oG0s1d0rkbY/Tvu8LOsJfuI/AAAAAAAAASk/Qev2-4GRfa4/s400/kabulunivstudents87.jpg
http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Guardian/About/General/2009/8/1/1249157752758/Women-in-Islamic-dress-we-001.jpg
And to end with Afghanistan, a sample of what those "freedom fighters" did to the democratically chosen president. This photo is a strong image so if you're sensitive don't see it:
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-kcj3FpLQmV4/UlWCjYXheLI/AAAAAAAADFw/_LySIwRmS-E/s1600/000_APP2001092599027_m.jpg
I have a lot more of pics of women going to university, walking free on the streets... and much more, but I think you can do your own research from that point. I also have lots of press articles praising the terrorists, which was driving out the "barbaric" communists, but they're in spanish so it has no point to post them here. Anyway, where do I want to get with all this photos? Well, you can see how North America started an Islamic revolution, how they give them power, and how the whole europe sat down and watched, not doing anything at all. Why? Obviously, the reason is the one we all know. Oil. Petroleum. The same happened in Libya with Gadafi, the same happened in Iraq with Hussein, and the same is happening now in Syria with Al'Asad. It's all the time the same sh*t. USA is running out of natural resources and they need more. USA sends CIA to fund some rebel faction to break nation stability. USA invades the country to "save" the poor poor little citizens. USA steal all the natural resources they can. Of course, with the support of their european allies and the Saudi Arabia sheikhs.
This is why I say that this has nothing to do with religion, because the fact behind this is not religion but oil control. You obviously have the point when you say that the lower integrants of daesh acts for the sake of their religion, their god, or whatever. BUT, the real fact is that this happened because the energetic resources control, not for letting Islam to grow free. In fact, I have muslim friends here in my city who say this is crazy, this is just a radical interpretation of the Qur'an, but not the majority one. By the way, my city is on red alert, they threatened to attack us after they attack Paris so... we're next.
And you shouldn't do that fast asseverations DLPB, because shows your lack of global vision.
Oh, just a cool link to keep the topic:

The Crusades were a response to Islamic aggression, and anything that Christians did was never in line with the teachings of Jesus. Unlike Muslims, who are all doing exactly what Muhammad did - and there's your difference. If you want to play the numbers game, Islam has been waging war since its inception and STILL IS. As I said before, after 1400 years, Islam is still hostile because its book does not allow for the same reformation that took place with Christianity.
And we aren't even talking about the past, either - that's just another apologist argument. I don't care 2 hoots for what went on 200 - 2000 years ago, I care about TODAY. And only one religion is going around blowing people up in the name of its prophet. Also, if you want to count the dead, you'll find Islam has caused more death than any other religious group- BY FAR.
Your links and arguments are way off, because you are equating what a US president does in a democratic society - voted by people - and debated in chambers, to a bunch of Barbarians whose only motive is hatred, and who get their arguments from an ancient book. And here, again, is the MAIN difference: The US does not charge into countries saying "Jesus is Great" or other religious sabre rattling - Islamic terrorists do. And they target innocent civilians. The US did not cause a problem in Islam, it's BEEN THERE SINCE THE BEGINNING. You make it sound like Middle East was a bastion of peace and tranquility, and those pesky Americans came along and destroyed it. No. It's a hell hole where Christians, homosexuals, women, minorities, and other ideologies (especially athiesm), are subjugated or wiped out.
As far as I can see, all you are doing is trying to excuse mass murderers, and that makes you as bad as them.
America is not perfect, but I have a feeling you'll have a hard time convincing the majority that it's as bad as most Islamic states.
Your argument that this has "nothing to do with religion" is so ridiculous it does not require any rebuttal.

It's easy to blame the USA for everything nowadays since it's become the "cool" thing to do, but it's not like any of the other countries aren't corrupt anyways. Yes, the USA government is corrupt and does shady things, but point me out a government believed to be trustworthy and I'll point out an ignorant person.
On the other hand, it is completely moronic to blame capitalism for the corruption of governments. Governments will always be corrupt, no matter if they are capitalist, socialist, communist, fascist, or a traditional monarchy. It is only the viewpoint of those easily influenced to join the anti-capitalist bandwagon.
Crony capitalism, sure, because by definition it is the corruption of both the government and the free market by the underhanded combination of the two. Relatively pure capitalism (one where government only interferes when it strictly needs to) is what allowed the USA to become the strongest and wealthiest country in world (not saying it still is, mostly because of the corrupt abomination it is today) faster than any other nation is the history of mankind. Ignoring that would just show blind hate toward something that is not understood.
Not to mention the fact that recent news indicates that at least one of the terrorists was a French citizen. Go ahead and blame America, blame free markets, and wait for the sweet, pure, incorruptible government to come in for the rescue.
(BTW, I'm not directing any of this personally at you JeMaCheHi, and I mean no offense. I am just generalizing because this is how I speak and am too lazy to reword it in a way that it is clearly not directed at anyone in particular.)
Edit: Wow, I was late on that reply lol.
Edit after reading posts: DLPB is pretty spot-on. The only thing I'd like to point to him is that if there were gun stores in the UK and muslims got hold of them, at least you would have yours as well. Mutually assured destruction would have a little better outcome than if the other side manages to get hold of something while you refused to get yours out of obligation to a societal belief. It'd be like if the US decided to give up all their nuclear weapons and waited until eventually North Korea, Russia, or Iran decided they felt like attacking the US with one that *gasp* they managed to get even though it was "outlawed".

I strongly encourage you to investigate more about socialist republics on middle east during the soviet union times. Islamic regime did that, as you said, but how they came to power is the main point. As I told you before, I cannot debate with you in equal footing because of my low english level in comparison with you, so the most I can do is telling you my point of view the best I can and trust you'll take it into account.
(BTW, I'm not directing any of this personally at you JeMaCheHi, and I mean no offense. I am just generalizing because this is how I speak and am too lazy to reword it in a way that it is clearly not directed at anyone in particular.)
No prob dude, I take no offense, and I don't mean it neither. I usually have this kind of debates with friends, but you know, they're way easier when you have them in your native language. I tend to sound really rough in english hahaha.
Anyway I doesn't blame only US, our Spanish (fascist) government (and our fascist president Aznar) followed GW Bush to Iraq like a filthy pug, for example. France and UK are accomplices of US war crimes too. And not to mention Germany... But you cannot deny that US is the head on all this crap.
-

I'm not going to deny that George Bush and the Iraq War was all bullstrawberries, because it was. I'm not an apologist for my government and hold it to the high standards its founders set when the nation was established. The USA has been corrupt in nearly every war since WW2, but I haven't seen any other bastion of innocence in any other nation anyways.
To be honest, you probably should not take my word for any value, because I am one of "those" people that believe, while the USA might not have been the direct culprit (I think they might have been), someone in our government most likely stood to gain from the attacks on 9-11. I don't believe a bunch of terrorists suddenly had an idea to hijack passenger planes and fly them into the trade centers of their own accord, nor do I fully believe the physics (based off my knowledge from admittedly general physics series for Bachelore's Degree) behind the collapse of the towers (especially trade center 7). I don't really want to get into that debate though, but I am far from someone who claims the US government is great.
On the other hand, the Islamic religion is notoriously barbaric and intolerant. It has been hundreds of years since any major attacks have been carried out by any other religion, mostly because those religions had teachings that easily fit within our modern, civilized society. The Islamic religion is definitely a product of the ancient and medieval past, and nothing short of a complete rewriting of the scripture contained within it is going to allow them to ever fully integrate into western society. As DLPB pointed out, you cannot find such intolerant language used by any other modern religions.
Deflecting these facts under the basis of government greed is not valid, since most of the attacks by the extremists have been against innocent civilians. The Muslims are not yelling "Down with corruption! Free our people from the tyranny of the west!". They are saying "Death to Jews!", "Death to Christians!", "Death to America!", and "Death to nonbelievers!" etc. If they only fought wars with our governments I would sympathize with their plight against the "war for oil", but while the western governments supposedly plunder them for oil they make random attacks against innocent people shouting off racial and religious hate-filled language.
-
I will finish by saying I also agree that Western governments are corrupt and that money has destroyed a lot of things, but if it's a choice between living by Western values and in Western countries, or living under Sharia, it isn't a difficult decision.
Also, the difference between a Western government and an Islamic one is that the laws are decided by the people and governments are voted by the people. In Islam, that festering book decides what you will think, and what you WILL obey. There is no freedom at all.
The irony is not lost on me that in many Islamic countries, all of the posts here would be illegal and would carry a very hefty penalty. Just the other day, a woman was stoned to death. So please, don't preach to me about Evil America. Start complaining about those that deserve it most.

In related news: Poland has got the message. They've now gone back on plans to house a few thousand Syrians. Unfortunately, Britain is still in La-La Land—as is America. David Cameron states that we will be stepping up security, but is also allowing 20,000 Syrians to be housed here virtually unchecked (the first batch arrives today).
They are either cretins, or they are deliberately trying to create a problem. When democracy was conceived of, it definitely didn't anticipate these dumb idealists being put in charge.

That's how this global world works dude. The general idea is to panic people, and under the pretext of combat terrorism, put a set of laws that restricts more and more our freedom, so we reach a police state. And we're supposed to be conformed with it because it is "for our safety". And if someone opposes to this, or disputes it, he will be considered a paranoid or even a terrorism sympathizer. I know you don't agree with my ideals, but it's just my opinion, based on what I've seen and the world's history during the last 100 years.

I'd only say this of Democrat politicians (and of Republican politicians, but for entirely different reasons), not of voters. US politics are a complete mess, and the average voter is much more well balanced as a human being than the people they vote for.

More Muslim terrorism in California - and it took the authorities around three days to finally admit what everyone already knew. Obama, as far as I am aware, is still not calling it terrorism. This was the first song I heard on a CD (and thus the first music CD I actually listened to). Back in 1996. Was always a fan of The Ballad of Tom Jones.
EDIT: Not sure what the first CD I'd ever heard was, Probably something along the lines of Megadeth, Metallica or Iron Maiden as that's what my cousins were into at the time and my mum didn't own a CD player, just a record and cassette player.
First vinyl record I ever heard was definitely Meat Loaf's Bat out of Hell, which we still have somewhere.

"When I was 12, I used to sit in my dad's garden the air full of the smell of orange blossoms watching the sky, dreaming of faraway places. Back then, I think I believed in just about everything, but now, I don't know. I do think there are some things we don't understand. If we went back in time 1000 years and tried to explain this place to people they could only accept it in terms of magic."
"Then perhaps it is magic. The magic of the human heart. Focused and made manifest by technology. Every day you here create greater miracles than the burning bush."
"But God was there first and he didn't need solar batteries and a fusion reactor to do it."
"Perhaps. Perhaps not. It is within that ambiguity that my brothers and I exist. We are dreamers, shapers, singers, and makers. We study the mysteries of laser and circuit, crystal and scanner, holographic demons, and invocations of equations. These are the tools we employ. And we know many things."
"Such as?"
"The true secrets. The important things. Fourteen words to make someone fall in love with you forever. Seven words to make them go without pain. How to say goodbye to a friend who is dying. How to be poor. How to be rich. How to rediscover dreams when the world has stolen them from you."

I agree. I do think there are a LOT of naive fools in government - and the voters... well, they're useless. But there are also some higher ups who are either doing it on purpose, or simply don't care because none of their insanity will impact on them. Merkel, for example, is either completely insane, exceptionally stupid, or an extremely evil woman. Or a combination.

Well now you metioned it she seems to be a true German.
And I didn't liked her from the start ...
-
She has done Europe a favour, inadvertently. Her disastrous open border policy and plea for millions of "Syrians" to come join Europe has completely ended the European project. The EU is dead, and about time too. The downside is the lasting effects this will have on ordinary people - already 130 people slaughtered in Paris (at least one of them was carrying fake Syrian passport. And the multicultural policy is also the EU), rape epidemics that go unreported, and increase in crime from the new arrivals.

She's a childless "former" communist hag. You are right.

A little girl in France was raped by them a few months back, same with a girl in a park in Germany, they've also been raping the few women in their own camps. Of course Sweeden now is the rape capital of the world, having more rapes than even any African countries. Of course they only make it to the local news, you can only find this stuff out via the internet. The press tries to cover up this stuff along with the government. Then there was a massive amount of them who went to a park and started fondling the passerby's. I try to stop following the news, it just makes you angry and depressed that the world is comprised of idiots and the people who support them, but sometimes when I find this stuff out, there's only one conclusion you can come to.

+1, this is so sad. Even after all they see, there are still people holding "welcome refugees" signs. That makes me so angry.

Yeah, I know all about Sweden, sadly. Ex girlfriend (still good friends with her) is from Sweden, and they're so brainwashed it's incredible. An awful lot of them literally have no idea what they've done by continually voting with heart over brain. They're all ultra feminist - ultra leftist and VERY naive. In fact, when I recently presented the Paris massacre and German rape spree to her, and asked her why it was a good thing to allow uncontrolled migration, she stated that it's our duty to help people "fleeing war" [which most of them are not, since we now know most aren't even from Syria].
In other words, as long as she and her fellow sympathizers feel good about themselves, the mass rape and murder is an acceptable trade-off. I told her that her view is dangerous and ridiculous. But I guess until it's her or her mates being chased down the street, their conditioning will hold strong.
The conditioning for some is so strong that they won't even watch any videos or read any articles that you link to. They just don't want to confront it. Like the governments, they're dooming us all. It's 1930s all over again. Zero hour with a little appeasing idiot running around with a white piece of paper telling us that the shark doesn't really want to eat us.
I don't know which is scarier - the fact Islam has been killing and conquering for 1400 years or the fact the West hasn't learned a damn thing from appeasing Hitler and is doing it all over again. I guess it really boils down to the same thing - the human race isn't as fantastic as we've been told. It's continually at the mercy of the under-educated, which make up the majority.
If you want to see why Star Trek's liberalism doesn't work in the long run - look at Sweden.

As I said, though. Evil Merkel has ended the EU - so that's a positive.
Belgium’s immigration minister tried to calm popular fears over the sex attacks by ordering new migrants to face mandatory “respect for women” courses.
Come on, laugh with me. It wouldn't be out of place in a political comedy.
You'll have to ignore the Telegraph's subtle pro-Europe bias, though. You can feel it in the article.

You know that saying things have to get worse before they can get better? That's the truth, the problem is we live in such a time where if things get worse they could get really bad, because of so many people dependent on the government in one way or another, really they are setting up the world for either World War 3 or a world of Communist/Capitalist slavery and slums and mindless consumers kinda like how Brazil is. They want one globalist world that's easy to control, one people without religion or race, or family, or any bonds which could bind them together and pose a threat to this "new world order". I know a lot of people say this but it's something right out of 1984. That's what it feels like. It's not a conspiracy theory either, the conspiracy has been here, you can only say something is a conspiracy theory when there is no proof or when the opposite side is denying it, the people at the top haven't even been trying to hide their agenda for two decades at least.

Edit: I keep typing off course, and it changes it to "off" automatically after i hit save. No idea why.
You know real life kinda mirrors Final Fantasy 7 in some ways now that I think about it, a mega corporation dominates the policies of the world in the game, like how the Federal Reserve and the International Member banks dominate our world, the traditionalist society of Wutai which tried to fight back got taken out even though they fought valiantly and nearly won using inferior technology. The planet is being severely damaged, and threatened with possible annihilation in the form of nuclear "weapons". I wonder if whoever wrote the script intended these parallels. Maybe they saw the decay of Japanese society into soulless capitalism which can only lead to the even worse Communist societies we are now transitioning into. I hate Marx as a person and as a political thinker but I think he was right that Capitalism creates the necessary conditions to bring about Communism. Capitalism would work in a perfect world where people followed the golden rule and were kind to eachother or with some controls but it's the corporations who control the government and the people who are afraid of the government when it should be the other way around, the government should control corporations and the government should be afraid of the people it governs!

Well, the elite will lose in the end. The only way they could be successful in turning so many humans into slaves is to poke around with genetics. And I'm not even sure how viable that would be. We're already seeing in Germany and France that the population is pushing back. Sooner or later a flashpoint will occur, and Merkel et al will be at the end of a noose or fleeing for the lives. Nope nope nope. ~Vgr

Unfortunately, the powers that be on this forum (actually one moderator in particular, I'd wager) think that wishing someone was dead is illegal - it most certainly is not. It is illegal to incite murder, or say you yourself are going to commit a crime, but not to say you'll be happy if something does happen to a person (in this case, a particular politician). How many posts around the net expressed a wish that Saddam or Bin Laden would die? I bet I can find you a post from this very site. We've descended around these parts into telling people what to think and moderating based on a flimsy understanding of law. If you want that to be the case, at least place it in the rules. The edited piece from above was not illegal in the slightest, and editing it is just stupid.
@vgr, editing and moderating for the sake of boredom is not the job description. If the mods around here want to conjure up some special rules, I'll be fine obeying them. But nothing I wrote above was against rules or illegal.
-
If you wish to discuss my decisions, please do so in a PM to the admins. I will have no problem admitting my errors if the admins state I made one. Right now it's my opinion against yours, and neither is worth more than the other.
-
Well, that's all fine and dandy but you've already left
Nope nope nope. ~Vgr
Which then gives the impression I have said something totally illegal. I'd much prefer it if the part was removed and then just notify the reason on the forum, so others can know. But it's a bit too late for debates about whether it was fine or not because what I said has now been removed.
I don't want to debate this any further. If something is removed, at least put up a reason. But maybe you should discuss decisions with the other mods before removing someone's post? Having one person just deciding if someone's opinion is okay isn't the best way to go unless you're the admin. But if this carries on, I'll just stop bothering because, let's face it, this is a game forum.
If you want opinions, have them. If you don't - remove this entire section.

How about common sense? It's not about being legal or illegal, it's more about the fact that this surely isn't the appropriate place for such pathetic hate comments. People come here for fun, to look for gaming mods and to discuss Final Fantasy games (and other stuff in general). You spill whatever diarrhea your brain can come out with regardless if it offends or bothers anyone else here, you show no respect towards anyone or anything that doesn't match your own views and you are shocked that a moderator would delete a phrase where you wish death upon someone. You're a sad, grumpy and toxic being.
-
How about common sense? It's not about being legal or illegal,
So it's really about whether you agree with it or not. Ok. Gotcha.
-
If you want to let the others know where we disagree on that point, go right ahead. I will stop replying until another moderator or admin has weighed in, however.
-
So it's really about whether you agree with it or not. Ok. Gotcha.
Pretty sure the post you quoted explains exactly what it is and isn't about. Not that your limited brain could accept it, after all, it doesn't match your views and therefor it's irrelevant to you. Sad.

That's not an argument, it's just baiting. Please leave this discussion for the adults :)
To others: I am not happy with the edit because it's an edit of a personal opinion and is not illegal. It doesn't matter whether you find that opinion distasteful - this is the offtopic section and what I said I believe. There are thousands of posts online wishing death on a number of politicians and it's their right to do so. In my case, the politician in question has allowed mass rape and basically caused misery to thousands and thousands more to come. So why would I have compassion? The edit on the other page could equally be applied to posts about Bin Laden - but they wouldn't be? Why?
In Britain "Ding Dong the Witch is Dead" was made number 1 in the Charts when Margaret Thatcher died. I found that distasteful to her relatives, but it was absolutely not illegal and was people's right to voice satisfaction in her passing. And before that, she was the target of unparalleled vitriol.
To sum up: My post was expressing a personal opinion and didn't break any rules. If a rule is added - fine. And if it is, I'll just not bother posting in this section because I sure as hell am not going to be told what to think. In fact, in recent weeks this section has become more and more draconian to the point where it isn't even worth posting in it.
Edit. Actually, forget it. I'm just going to take my posts to PM, where I can converse with people who I want to talk to - completely absent of the moderation and baiting. I can see where this is going - debates about modding decisions galore - and of course the occasional thick-as-pig-shit troll like above. No thanks :) I'm not in the mood for that nonsense anymore. ;D
Please block my account from accessing the offtopic section. I'll save you the trouble and censor myself. It's for the best. I'm never going to agree to the moderation as it stands, and I can't suffer pillocks like above without eventually retaliating. Like I have this post. Plus, I find it a complete waste of my time - unlike years ago. I'm not being sarcastic, either. I'd rather not have the ability to see this section. 8)

*yawn*
Are you done?
No, apparently you're not, since you went back and wrote a wall of text explaining how it should be ok to share your toxic views on how you wish someone was murdered in a forum that has absolutely nothing to do with such stuff.
And if it is, I'll just not bother posting in this section because I sure as hell am not going to be told what to think.
That's the best thing that could happen to this forum considering how your posts consist of hateful, spiteful and intolerant posts towards others and their opinions.
ps: forum karma is serious business ;D
-
Not that your limited brain could accept it, after all, it doesn't match your views and therefor it's irrelevant to you. Sad.
You dare to talk about tolerance and hates, when you just call someone is brain limited?
-
If you're ever wondering why we end up with crap politicians and really lousy countries, look no further than Ric, who accuses me of having no brain when his sum contribution to anything constructive here is zero. He's a classic example of "I agree with your right to free speech as long as you don't say something I disagree with". He's also butt hurt because I didn't like the new Star Wars :P You can't legislate for stupidity - but we certainly should be curtailing the right to vote for such people. Definitely. We shouldn't tolerate intolerance - that's why Germany is about to go up in flames for the third time in 100 years.
I think if we raised the voting age to 30, and held aptitude/IQ tests for people to be eligible for voting, we'd have much better politicians and laws. At the very least, people shutting down debates with the "you are a hater / racist / sexist / homophobe / bigot / xenophobe / Islamophobe" and other ad hominem nonsense should be afforded nothing but scorn and ridicule. :)
-

No, not at all. The right to free speech is the best thing you, I and alot of people have. However coming on a forum that's supposed to be about videogames and fun in general and claim you wish someone gets assassinated... That's just offensive and it's out of place.
He's also butt hurt because I didn't like the new Star Wars :P
I never saw any of the Star Wars movies in my life... And i'm not interested in doing so. As usual, you missed the point on the other topic just like you're missing the point on this one cause you were too busy puking your thoughts and ideals on everyone's face.
We shouldn't tolerate intolerance
Woah, wise words. Get my point yet?
The issue was never your opinion... Did anyone call you out and tell you "fern you for thinking that?" No, no one did. The issue was simply that this isn't the right place to spread hate, especially in regards to someone being killed. There's a time and place for everything and this just wasn't the right place.
People often mistake their right to free speech with "I can say whatever i want, wherever i want, whenever i please and screw whoever gets offended" and you're the perfect example of that.

Stop it, children. This thread was started for fun stuff, the sorts of things that LeonhartGR used to share, not this petty bickering. It has clearly outlived its usefulness, and will now be closed.
