Completely Unrelated / Crysis Video
« on: 2006-06-19 14:38:29 »
14-minute Crysis video.

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3502375929069803475&q=crysis

As you can see, finding this video was a result of mad ninja skills.  It’s hardcore to type “crysis” into Google.
Unfortunately, I didn’t even manage to do that.  I got it from another forum.

Oh-kay, you want a long post war, fair enough.
No, actually I don’t.

This is really just a discussion as far as I am concerned.  But sure, I would do better to use a few smilies so that people don’t think I have an attitude when I post.   8-)
There is an ongoing theme in your reply here that I should address first.

Mr. Clean Slate?
Quote
You are clearly the epitome of human male evolution. All hail and all that.
Quote
I'm still trying to figure out whether you're writing this because you're actually upset at being considered "sexist", or whether you just appreciate the chance to assert that you are of course better than everyone else.
Incidentally, I can’t tell if you’re writing because you’re actually upset over the issue or if it’s because you have some pent-up personal rage against me.

You actually think I think I am better than other people, huh?
Here we’re having quite the misunderstanding.  You’ve made a connection between me feeling that my character has been offended and the idea that that must imply that I must be looking down on others, because, after all, I’m offended at the thought of having my character compared with theirs, right?
Oh no, don’t think I am so naive as to presume your notion that I must feel superior is something completely new starting with this topic, but at least for now I’d like to just stick with the situation at hand.
Here is how it really is.
All people, myself and you included, have certain outlooks on all other various types of people.  There are some kinds of people you don’t like, and some you do.  At this point, no one is superior just for having these outlooks.
Now, does it cross that line when you dislike a group so much that you are offended at having your character associated with theirs?  Well, we’re dancing at the border, but crossing the line depends on a few other factors.
Do I distance myself from those people at all costs?  No.  Many of them are my friends.
Do I treat them differently from how I would treat others?  Not at first; I treat everyone exactly the same at first.  Whether they turn out to be cool or duds is up to them, and not some preconceived notion I use to characterize their social class.
Make no mistake—I group people together using generic subcultures, as all people do, but that has nothing to do with my respect for individual people.

So why would I get offended at being compared to this group of people?
Well, that’s exactly it, don’t you think?
#1: I wasn’t compared to an individual person.  I was assumed to be in a group, and, naturally, that musters my feelings for that group as a whole, rather than any respected individuals from that group I may know.
#5: Extra offense because they assumed to know me as being that type.  All I did was play video games, and suddenly I am in a completely different social class.  Ah, good going Sony.  Of course, once you start playing video games, you have nothing but sex on the brain.  Oh yeah, I should laugh at that.

Quote
Just like this ad suggests that you're a furry, deceitful caffeine-addicted canine?
Quote
Reality check please.
Okay.  Firstly, that ad makes no attempt to assert that I myself am the dog.  If you wanted to summarize that ad with words, it would go something along the lines of, “Pepsi is so good, even dogs like it!”.  How does my character fit into this picture?
Secondly, if someone had a dog and he or she tried hard to teach that dog the sturdy values of a good diet, on top of honesty enough not to steal, could that person be offended at the suggestion that Pepsi wants to corrupt his or her dog’s values, and if so, would I presume to have the right to say whether or not that person is justified by being offended?
If I understand enough to know that different people were raised in different places, with different values and different standards of life, who would I be to go around dictating what constitutes over-sensitivity?
This is probably one of those times where I should be using those smilie thingies to indicate it’s just a civil discussion to me.
—> :-P <— This is the smilie I have used to ensure that all can see I have no attitude (arg, these things are so not-my-style 8-)).
Thirdly,
Quote from: Sad Jari
I believe that the thing many people - including me - have issues with, is how these ads are apparently aimed at the lowest common denominator.

Quote
So why is it you so obviously cannot handle the current situation?
Again, there seems to be a misunderstanding.
This topic (though inadvertently), became a topic where it was relevant to discuss our viewpoints on Sony’s attitude.
I handle my offense by simply getting over it and moving on with my day.  It’s not exactly as if I go around all day enraged at being offended and telling people about my rage, and/or actively boycotting their product, gathering rallies, etc.
But because I expressed my views, and explained my reasons for being offended, in what I had considered to be a calm and civil manner, in a topic where it was relevant to actually discuss it, it must mean I can’t handle it, huh? :-P

Quote
To be perfectly honest, did I even mention your name in my last post, Mr. Clean Slate?
To be honest, I somehow expected this reply somewhere in your post when I posted last night.  I expected it at the beginning though, since wouldn’t think you would go all out writing an essay to crunch my character and then at the end say, “Oh, and my previous post might not have been directed towards you in the first place.”
So, last night, I had gathered all my reasons to explain why I would think your post was directed towards me.  I thought about how I would mention that using my numbering system as a platform for your post wouldn’t be the most intuitive way not to direct your post towards me, and I thought about how no one else really showed signs of sensitivity, etc.
But now I’m not so sure that’s needed when you yourself acknowledge that most of the arguments are identical, so who is to know?
I’m not going to apologize for thinking your post was directed towards me when everyone on the board can see how fine the line is.
People who can’t take a joke?  You easily could mean me.  Especially since I’ve known for a long time how you really feel about me.
Explaining why the joke is funny because it’s true?  Well, I seem to have been the main one attacking the humor of the joke.  The guy who wrote the article simply mentions it in passing.
Discussing respect towards women?  Again, who made a strong point about this besides me?
I would never treat my girlfriend like that, etc.  Wait, aren’t you now using the exact context of my post?  And now you dare to try to pose a question as to whether I should have considered myself the target of your post?  And you’re using that uncertainty as leverage for calling me “an example of people over-reacting to simple things”?

Besides, it may not have come across that way, but my post was entirely calm and collected.
I wasn’t insulted by your post either way, whether it was directed towards me or not.
And being the target of your post wasn’t an issue either way.
I wanted to explain my viewpoint, here, where it is appropriate to do so.  I wanted to clear up any confusion, in case there was any.  I’m not a tree-hugging feminist.  Now you know.
If your post wasn’t directed towards me at all, great.  Then I didn’t need to spend so much time clarifying my viewpoint, so ignore it, yeah?
The first words I wrote when I typed my post were, “It isn’t really relevant for us to discuss this since we aren’t on the same page.”
My only mistake was erasing that in favor of actually explaining why we aren’t on the same page, while not explicitly stating it.

But that’s all for the better, right?  Because now everyone knows you view me as nothing more than some elitist prick with but the soul purpose of showing off how superior I am over everyone else.
Good to get the out instead of keeping it pent up, right?
And don’t worry; I’m not offended, because I’m not one much for being over-sensitive, you know?  8-)

How about 5) People who can't take a joke?
Ah, that would lend them a convenient win-win situation, wouldn’t it?  Of course, the ad is meant to appeal to whomever, so if those people think it is clever, mission accomplished.  But when the other side claims it’s offensive, well no problem, because it was just a joke, right?  They should lighten up!

Quote
I've seen much more raw (racist) jokes flourish
I hope that’s not actually intended as justification.

Quote
Hint: it's funny because it's based on something true.
Again, I’m not seeing why that should be justification.  If tobacco companies showed their consumers dying in hospitals from lung cancer, would that be funny, because it’s true?
How about making the dying people into caricatures who comically take one last swig off the cigarette, look at the camera, then say, “I’d die for that.”  Then fall down dead.  Ah, it’s so funny, because the guy chose to smoke all his life, and he died, ha.
If you consider this out of context because cigarettes kill while posting pictures of your girlfriend’s naughty bits doesn’t “harm” anyone, try looking at it from another perspective.
Both take otherwise tragic real-life situations and try to put a humorous spin on them, all for the sake of getting into your pocket, even though of course it means keeping the travesty going.
Of course, in my example, most people can actually see the tragic side to the story, so it won’t quite work as well as hiding the tragedy in an empty meaningless shallow relationship.

Quote
But seeing it in an ad doesn't force you to goddamn duplicate it, as little as playing GTA forces you to steal cars
I’m not sure you’re seeing the point.
I never at all suggested that the problem with laughing at their ads is that it would force me to then become the people in the ads doomed to a life of failed relationships.
I’m not laughing at their ads because it’s a personal offense. Why is it personal?  Why wouldn’t it be?  I’m the target of that ad, aren’t I?  I’m the one they want to buy their products.  So, doesn’t that suggest somehow that they must have tailored that ad for me?  So, doesn’t that suggest that they think I’m a self-righteous male-supremist prick who wouldn’t know a meaningful relationship if it bit me on the ass?  I sense some friction!
Hark!  For me to consider their ad a direct insult to my character and intelligence must mean I am too sensitive!  After all, I’ve never had a problem with Nintendo’s ads or Microsoft’s ads, even though I don’t even like Microsoft, so of course it’s my own sensitivity that would cause an issue out of the blue where none had been before.
And yet, millions of others noticed this same level of offense and one guy even found it worthy of mentioning in an article.

Quote
if you shun this joke and claim "I would never treat my girlfriend like that", you're probably either a) lying
Well, obviously not in my case.
Quote
or b) haven't been in a long-term relationship.
Again, I’m not sure why this is relevant.  Are you actually suggesting that all long-term relationships involving male gamers must somehow, at some point, include a stage where the male posts stickers of his girlfriend’s naughty bits on his day-to-day tools?  I’ll give you grace in the issue of “pointless” questions, only because there usually is some point where both sides have some tussle and feel the other side’s questions/issues are pointless.  But I’m not sure why encouraging them to “escape” from it is more responsible than encouraging them to work it out.

Quote
There are extremely few "perfect matches" out there, live with it.
Oh, I certainly live with it.  I just don’t try to turn it into a comical situation to extort money from people.

Quote
Bet you if the ad had featured women using PSPs in similar, slightly sexist ways, there wouldn't be a beep worth of complaints
Again, not the issue.
#1: No, I wouldn’t care if people attacked me in the same way.  Why?  Because I myself can handle it.  I decided on my own to simply ignore it.  Others may feel bad for me, just as I would feel bad for them being attacked, but because I can handle my own attacks means I am a hypocrite?
#2: That’s not the issue; my anger doesn’t stem from them attacking one group or another.  It stems from them assuming I am clueless to the concept of a meaningful relationship, then trying to put a happy spin on that to get into my wallet.

Quote
I just get fumed up by uptight, ultra-sensitive (and often hypocritical) politically correct "feminists" who get all riled up about a relatively harmless joke just because it's about women.
Again this was never the issue.
As I stated one post ago, the issues governing sexual equality are not areas where I care to tread.
I thought I had made this clear in my reply to Sad Jari.
Yes, I used my girlfriend (when I have one) as an example to relate to the situation, but the issue here is personal.  It isn’t about the attacks they made to them, it’s about the ways they offended me.

After decompression, it is copied byte-for-byte to 0x0099CE10 and is 0xF94 bytes long.

I am using Windows XP but I don’t know which version of Final Fantasy VII.

It was copied there before I entered a battle, though that should have little to do with whether it relates to battles or not.

Those “LOVEPARA CHR:%d, %d->%d” sequences (4 total, one for each character you can date) seem to be related to the date sequence, possibly related to debugging.
It’s been a long time since I looked at this but isn’t the 0x03 in front of those related to displaying a dialog box in the field script?
So it’s script data of some kind.

In fact, a lot of this looks familiar, from when I was hacking through monster attack data.
Quite frankly, this looks a lot like monster data, except that the monsters are the characters you can date.

I would almost say they are using “attacks” to trigger the date scenes, though the models used aren’t the battle models.

That wasn’t really the context in which I was making my point.

The idea of treating women as pure equals, either by treating women as if they were men, or by treating men as if they were women, raises a scope of issues far to expansive and controversial for my tastes (though something can be said about the fact that being treated “as a man” is different from being treated “as a woman”).

My point was on a more personal level—that is, how I would treat my own girlfriend in a relationship.
Sony tries to be cute by suggesting that all women have nothing to say but meaningless banter whose soul intent must be to cause men, who apparently are the only ones capable of meaningful output, to escape into a world of UMV, conveniently provided by Sony.
Let’s not forget that men just want to stare at their girlfriends’ naughty bits all day, because of course meaningful relationships is a concept altogether lost on gamers.

So, wait.  Sony is trying to “buy” my good graces by accusing me of being a male-elitist unsociable prick?
The very type of human who does need to drop dead?

Quote
Anybody that would be offended by that should seriously just drop dead.
The irony with this is that those women who got offended by this ad are mostly normal every-day people who just want to live their lives in peace, fall in love, have a family, and be happy.  What exactly did they do wrong to deserve this offensive ad?  Be born?

Quote
I believe that the thing many people - including me - have issues with, is how these ads are apparently aimed at the lowest common denominator. And I feel that that rather insults my intelligence.
Correct.
But not only to my intelligence, but to my character.
It is completely offensive on every level when Sony thinks they are going to appeal to me by telling me I can download porn and post naughty pictures of my dear girlfriend.

Really?  Would you be so willing to condone the deprivation of female respect if it was any other company besides Sony?

Your ad-hominem approach to this topic really doesn’t help your stance.

How about, 3) Men who actually believe that woman should be treated with respect as equals?
How about, 4) Men who don’t appreciate being classified as having the stereotypical attitude wherein they must inherently be sex-crazed hormone-driven punks wearing wife-beaters and ignoring their girlfriends (and of course, the only reason you get a “girlfriend” but then proceed to ignore her is because you just want to use her for sex).

And by the way, that soccer mom happens to compose the largest share of the market, at least for personal-computer gaming.
For console gaming, mommy and daddy are the largest share of the market.  That’s right, even more than all those hardcore fanboys.

Quote
And, anyone that won't continue buying Sony products because of that ad weren't ever true Sony customers to begin with.
Doesn’t that statement just exemplify the problem?
Most companies are trying to broaden their market, appealing to people who aren’t “true customers” yet as well as those who are.
Not test them to see if they are so blindly dedicated they will overlook any and all class-bereft propaganda for the simple sake of proving loyalty.

Quote
So yeah. I'll admit it. As much as I love Sony, their console will not be cheap

« on: 2006-06-12 09:43:39 »
Quite frankly cleanliness causes zits and other face rashes.

For the most part, people who try to be too clean will always get these types of breakouts.  The average person has no problem because the average person tries to stay only average clean.
I’ve personally never had a zit or acne, going strong at 24.  Meanwhile the preppies, football players, cheerleaders, and other “high-class” care-only-about-looks people in my school were full of them.

And why is that?

Because humans are filthy.  The human mouth is dirtier than a dog’s mouth, with over twice the amount of bacteria.
By being so naturally dirty, humans are also naturally clean; because there are so many dirty bacteria crawling all over us, there is also a larger population of good bacteria crawling all over us.
Without that abnormally high amount of good bacteria, the bad bacteria have a ball corrupting our skin and clogging our pores.

Stop being so clean.
Be normal-clean instead of over-clean.
Avoid anti-bacterial soap—you’re killing the good bacteria with the bad, but the bad come back faster.

Some claim food can do it to you, but I highly doubt that is really accurate.  As I stated, I’ve never had a zit or acne in my life, my skin is soft and my hair softer (many women tell me how jealous they are [yes, seriously]), and this is after many years of hamburgers, hotdogs, pizzas, etc.

But maybe I’m just the anti-christ, so normal mortal inflictions have no meaning on me (though I have been sick before).

In the Nintendo 64 version, anyway, I was quite content to just hit "B" and swing my sword, rather than look like a fool, swinging a controller around.

This is the attitude I mentioned in my post, which I predict will take over after the Wii has been out for a while.
As I said, its appeal to most is on now, but I suspect even most of the people who are attracted by it now will eventually get tired of all the effort it takes to play games and lust for the simple B-pressing games of old days.

It’s up to Nintendo to play this correctly.
They are definitely going to have to keep a watch on the market and switch to normal controls before people start lusting.
But I don’t suspect there will be a problem here because they are already supporting normal-style games, such as Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

The numerous polls I have seen on numerous gaming sites note that the Wii has over 50% popularity among gamers who visit those sites, while the PlayStation 3 is next at around 18% and the Xbox 360 is bottom, at usually around 10%.

Some claim that those sites don’t represent the majority of consumers, which is true.
Those sites only represent the gamers who are “hardcore” enough to going online to look at video-game related information.

The majority of the console market is casual, and a huge fraction of that are mommies and daddies who buy for their kids, especially at Christmas), and of course would never even see these polls much less vote.

Does that mean the polls are inaccurate?  Yes.
Does that mean the Wii numbers should be lower?
No.
Considering that the largest share of consoles are sold to casual gamers, the PlayStation 3 would be performing even worse, because how many mommies and daddies are willing to spend $600 on a game system for little Timmy?
How many “independant” teenagers can save enough allowance to buy one for themselves?
How many older teens, with a slightly more “hardcore” feel can save enough of their part-time checks, while paying for rent and college (if applicable)?
This on top of the fact that polls show that 88% of the people who were “hardcore” enough to vote still think it is overpriced.
Then add that the fact that there are cheaper alternatives with quite-appealing features, recognizable characters, and a more family-oriented attitude.

Xbox 360 has been out for a while, but I really don’t hear anything about it.
No one really talks about it, and I rarely hear about any new games coming out on it.

Wii isn’t even out yet and I hear people talking about it, its games, and its features constantly.

I also hear more and more people talking in disgust about Sony’s sex-and-violence attitude, and one source told me it is so bad that Sony has begun changing some of their policies on what games are allowed on their system, and including a parentile locking system (which may play favorites with the parents, but A: kids won’t like that and B: parents are hardly willing to spend $600 on a toy for their kids, much less so if the kids won’t like it).

This is definitely the generation for Nintendo, without contest.

My personal opinion, however, is that they will need to rely less on motion detection in the future.
People are excited about it now, and of course it will be fun at first, but eventually people are just going to be tired of waving their arms to play games.
Most gamers are quite content packing their friends into a small space and relaxing with the controller in hand.
And there are many times people want to play their favorite games in bed relaxing, not leaning forward and waving their arms everywhere.

It also won’t attract the market they are trying to get.
Nintendo is of course family-oriented, but how many of your mothers would take this type of gameplay seriously?
Oh yes, they will definitely try it out.
But to them it will forever be a gimick.  They may try it a few times, but ultimately they are going to feel ridiculous.

Though Nintendo is definitely the most adaptable among the three, and they will probably handle this situation correctly.
The focus is on motion detection now, but they, as well as you, should realize the importance of having an abundance of normal games.

Just to be clear (not accusing anyone, but simply for the sake of clarity), a lot of people think I am picky because I define a set of attributes that I like and then calculate whether women fit into that set before I decide how “attractive” they are.

In fact, it is the exact opposite.
I find women either attractive or unattractive, and then think about why.
When I list the features I like or dislike in women, really these are just the patterns I have observed between the women I have liked or disliked.

I have no problem being called picky because I know I am, but I wanted to be clear that it is not by choice.
In fact sometimes I am jealous at how many women others can find attractive that I simply can’t; being so picky lends me few opportunities to feel the rush that comes with the vision of beauty.
But as that is the case, the times when I am blessed with a vision of beauty are highly relished and it makes it worth it.

I imagine it is for the best for me, anyway, because I grow bored of things extremely easily, and I imagine that if I was seeing women who I considered beautiful often, then it would become quite standard quickly, and I wouldn’t really care about them when I saw them.

As for the subject of pedophilia, well, I am safe because I have no sexual urges towards anyone anyway.
Some little girls can be cute, but they will forever be bereft of many of the things that I find “attractive”, such as intellectual conversation, wisdom, maturity, and responsibility.
The most I would want to do with little girls is cuddle, and the fact is I prefer older girls because they can cuddle back.

Just my guesses.

A: Definitely not.  Aged 15.
B: Mostly not.  Aged 14.
C: No.  Aged 17.

I dislike greatly Girl A’s nose and general facial features.
I’ve never liked red hair or green/blue eyes, nor have I ever liked red cheeks, or red skin in general, so Girl B is out.  Her facial features are, however softer and smoother than most, so she gets extra points for that, and she has a sweeter gentler look, so again more points.  Hence she is a bit attractive, but mostly not.
Girl C is simply out.  Her breasts are just too disgusting, and she has fun showing them off, making her attitude even less attractive.

I was involved with the re-release of the whole series under Ubisoft instead of 3DO.

We had to remove all cases of 3DO from the games and reorganize them for the install disks.

I found that Heroes of Might and Magic 3 and Heroes of Might and Magic 2 play their music from the disks, so we were unable to put them on the same DVD.

While asking my boss about the results of that project (whether it has been released or not) I found out we were paid for that project just Monday, and that we were also involved with Ubisoft’s King Kong game.
Interesting; I didn’t even know we did anything for that game.

Unlike the others, I work as a programmer.

Originally born in America, I decided wheat is lame and left Kansas for good.
I went over an ocean and fell into Bangkok, where I began making video games.

My involvement was absolutely 100% necessary (!) for the successful completions of the following titles:
Ghost Recon 2 Online (Ubisoft).
Petz 5 (Ubisoft).
Heroes of Might and Magic, Heroes of Might and Magic 2, Heroes of Might and Magic 3 (Ubisoft, formerly 3DO).
187 Ride or Die (Ubisoft).
Flying Toaster: After Dark (Vivendi Universal).
Leisure Suit Larry [Unreleased, Unnamed] (Vivendi Universal).
Some others (Others).

Although my wage isn’t particularly special, it levels out very well with the economics of Bangkok; considering my 8th-floor, air-conditioned, fully furnished, cable-enabled room costs $125 per month, I make way more than I need (unfortunately the American government is sucking it all up right now).
Benefits include a performance-based monthly bonus (my bonus last month was $350; the highest ever in the company), and all-expense-paid world travel (my job has sent me to Malaysia for a game conference, Paris, and Marseilles, with my room overlooking the Mediterranean, etc.)

My first job in America involved making software to make web pages.
It was quite boring, and I left.
I was unable to find another IT job in Kansas, so I left.
Now I have become quite addicted to working all over the world, so should I ever be forced back to America it would be temporary.  I would probably apply at the company in France where I worked for a while or at Rareware in England.
Ultimately I will land in Tokyo and live for the rest of my life there.

I don’t mean to intrude where it is not my business.

I am not for or against using a 3-D engine, and likewise I am not even for or against this project in general.
I am here to state facts.

#1: sfx1999 hit on a point I was going to make some time ago.
Modular design is a great idea.
Following the original game’s design to a tee, making only one module loaded at once, is a terrible idea, and it was a terrible idea when they did it too.
The only reason they did it was to fall within the memory constraints imposed by the system.  We don’t have these limitations on modern computers (or even older computers than back then).

#2: I don’t particularly see the need for using an existing game engine.  In the most rudimentary situation you still have to hack together some form of compatibility between Final Fantasy® VII’s file formats and the game engine’s expected formats.  Speaking from experience, once you have loaded the model data (which must be done manually in either case), it isn’t exactly difficult to add the one extra layer of drawing triangle strips.
Remember, Final Fantasy® VII’s model formats are so proprietary, you still have to handle the bones and animations entirely manually, after loading the models manually.
Creating the compatibilities with the engine is most likely more work than just making your own, especially considering all the research into how to actually create those compatibilities.

It is really not much work to create the graphical aspects of Final Fantasy® VII.

Not only that, but any project that does generate any substancial amount of attention ultimately means SquareEnix Co., Ltd. must now begin competing with you, over their own product.
For them to create a product that is better than this project is a non-issue, but the fact would still remain that people would have a choice between a free open-sourced(?) game and their game, which may have better graphics and sound but costs money.
Competing with a popular brand that’s freely available isn’t as easy as competing with a no-name brand that is free.
And the fact that it is their own brand just adds insult to injury.

Ultimately, they still own the license.
What does that really mean?
It means they have full dictatorship over how that license is used.
What if they don’t want Final Fantasy® VII to be playable with high-resolution graphics unless users pay for this extra treat?

Hmmm, didn’t we do some games for Atari too?  Let’s take a look.

Well not a good look, but HOTPXL was made entirely here in my company for PlayStation Portable (in Python).  Not my project though I did have some involvement.

I wonder if there is a way to tell how many people actually tried to use [email protected] with madmax2.

Grand Theft Auto: * is sex; they even had the most controversial sex scene in commercial-gaming history (obviously special-interest games go far beyond, but those are not in the same catagory).
Toppled with violence—remember I did add this to their selling points too.

And even Final Fantasy is becoming sex-based.  Interesting way to dress the heroins in Final Fantasy X-2, don’t you think?  I remember people looking bug-eyed at posters of the game before it came out, explaining to me how hot Yuna is in that “outfit”.  Meanwhile Zelda has never had attire-related dilemas.

Halo doesn’t hit on either of these two points, luckily enough for it; it actually managed to sell for the right reasons—interesting design, interactive physics, appealing landscape/world, etc.
But make a chart of how often each system brings this type of game into the world and see which console has the best track record.

This is why I stopped looking at that forum.

If you need another reason for proper typing:

e) Once care-bereft typing takes over the forum, the people who actually matter—the people who make the forum great—start seeing the place going to trash and stop coming around.  Add the increase of sloppy typing to a decrease in meaningful typing and the forum as a whole degenerates completely, losing all meaning, value, and respect it once had.

Your sloppy typing is turning this place into a joke.
Fine way to treat a person who tries hard to uphold a standard and maintain a the only meaningful forum for one of the best games ever made, don’t you think?
It’s like he went out of his way—took time from his life—to bake you a cake, and all you did was take your slice and throw it back in his face, then hide behind your own justifications (jump back to the real world from the analogy here) such as, “Oh, it’s just the Internet,” or, “I type like I speak, what’s the big deal?”.

What’s the big deal??
Why do you think speaking like an idiot means you can come around here and type like one too?
So what if it is just the Internet?  So what if it is just your thesis?  So what if it is just a report for your boss?  Got the idea?  The only reason people think it is okay to type like sh*t online is because no one else is checking their slop, and people revel at the chance to waste their brains.
Do you understand that that is all you’re doing?  You need someone else to keep you in check?  Huh?  Can’t do it on your own?
Not smart enough?  Not responsible enough?  Is it too much effort for you?  Yeah, I know how hard it is to occasionally hit Shift and “.”.  So hard.

To those who type like sh*t, your educations were wasted.
Your teachers didn’t grade your reports and check your spelling, grammar, and punctuation just so you could spend the rest of your lives burning the eyes of others, strangling others’ minds, and purposely trying to forget all their efforts.

I spellchecked my post after posting it and found not a single error, neither in spelling nor in grammar.
How’d that feel?

It’s Sony; what can you expect?
If their products reflected their own minds we would get a black box with a hole on top between some fake breasts and a sticker that reads, “We give you sex, now insert money into hole”.

Meanwhile Microsoft would just ship a big dollar sign with two slots on top where the user can insert money.

There is difference between wanting money to survive and wanting money out of pure greed.
Nintendo takes profit cuts to uphold their quality standards, while Sony and Microsoft don’t care what kind of games are made for their systems; anything based off sex and blood is good because it sells.

You’ll never see Dead or Alive: Beach Volleyball on Nintendo and you’ll never see Brain Age on PlayStation or Xbox.
One cares about innovation, quality entertainment, and family, while the others just care about money.
