My biggest fear is that do not only copy the battle system of KH but also its flat story design.
Well, Tetsuya Nomura isnt writing it, the original writer is, so we should be safe

It's not a game, though... not yet.  It's part of one.

Your response seems unrelated, were you replying to someone?

I've given this quite a bit of thought.

Potentially, they could simply make a 2nd part thats runs till the end of the game on PS5 that embraces the open world concept without having to sacrifice too much, as the hardware and SSD will be able to do much that the PS4 cannot, but this presents a glaring issue: What about PS4 users?? I cant imagine they'll be too happy about being forced to upgrade to PS5 in order to play it. So I suppose they would have to split it into 3 parts, Midgar, Pt.2 up until the Forgotten City and Pt. 3 up until Northern Cave.

This also gives them the breathing room of being able to dedicate their full effort to all the areas that occur solidly within those 3 parts.

General Discussion / Re: Export FF7 Battle models
« on: 2019-10-29 04:43:23 »
I've yet to see any program that exports models, battle or otherwise into a usable modern format with a skeleton. All of the currently available tools are made with modding in mind only and can only export piece by piece, sadly.

:o I'm so psyched man, thanks again for sticking with this!

Came here to congratulate you on your latest work. When I first began paying attention to FF7 mods a couple years ago, I was your biggest critic. I didnt even consider your fields to be worth showing off but I'm very very VERY glad to see that you stuck with it and continued to improve them again and again. Your work speaks for itself, and as someone who prefers to show rather than tell, I can offer you no higher praise.
Thank you again for your continued hard work and dedication, you're an inspiration.

General Discussion / Re: FFVIII Remastered

Man, the backgrounds really do look awful (everything else looks great though, IMO. Well except for Squall, he looks 5 years younger than everyone else). I don't know what Square was thinking, but then again, they did think what they did to the FF9 backgrounds looked good enough.

BTW, it would be funny if they kept the file structure exactly the same as the original and we could just copy and paste these improved models into the non-remastered version.
*shrugs* Its what they did for FFVII on Switch, except they neutered the exe and made it difficult to go over a certain file-size. womp womp

Can you also upload un-memoryscrambled versions elsewhere?

61
Can you post your configuration? I'm upscaling some video and I'd like to do a comparison between this and Gigapixel AI.

Cant remember if this question has been asked, but other than source distribution, what else was modified within the exe in 1.5?

63
Yeah, I'd be very interested in knowing that too!
Unless something happens to slow it down, it should be out by this time next week.

Do you have all of these available in ONE google drive folder?

Thank you for taking the initiative to push tool creation forward. I believe you will find those qualified to help you here: https://discord.gg/HzWrRqC

You beautiful bastard

Edit: Came back to say what a terrific job you did with Aerith's theme. I'm not even that big of a fan of it but WOW.

I thought as much but don't have your level of experience. Thanks for the info.

Quick question: Where is battle data stored? Things like the changes you've made to enemies, their stats, all the numbers and stuff etc. I'm trying to make sure I don't overwrite anything crucial while making this model replacement.

Yeah, I wouldn't ask anyone to tackle all that; better to focus on base models. I can probably add damage details to that scorp you made.

If you've still got the original model files sitting around, I'd be more willing to get into it, but I'm not going to extract>import>change>fix potential normals issues>reimport>troubleshoot that many. That's what it would end up being, right?

I can throw you the original scorp model if you want to make changes, let me get it together. Currently only on Switch, for now maybe

So I've finally taken a gander at just how many custom models you've made and, Ive gotta tell you, theres no way way Im gonna take the time to make that many custom models. Its insane that you even did it in the first place!
That being said, this will likely be the end of my contribution on that subject:

That's a nice clean-looking palette swap; I could try adding a toggle to the NT IRO so that they can be used with a graphical enemy replacer mod or something.

Thank you. Working at replacing all the models with HD versions and your customs needed a little love!

Ugh, you're the absolute best, thank you! Doing something fairly cool with this list, if all goes well I think you'll be happy!

EDIT: My labor has borne fruit!

Hey Sega Chief

Do you keep a list of which models/textures you've added as part of your mod? IE: Yellow/Black Relentless X-ATM boss we all know and love, as well as Curator etc
I'm assuming as an organized guy, you do. Would you be willing to share that list with us?

I don't have to be a moderator to know posting in someones thread and asking others to use your work instead is messed up. Can't believe I have to actually defend myself here. As far as what OP would or wouldnt say, it's pretty obvious to anybody who can read that they're already uncomfortable, but I'm guessing you can't read between the lines. Anyway, that's my final word on that.

75
Why not try mine, it's complete and is not a beta ^^

Dont come into somebody else's thread and advertise your own stuff... Whats wrong with you?  :x

Its using a selftrained FF8 Model of mine and is distinct enough from the previous Ai upscales to warrant a release I think.

Have to say these are a marked improvement over some of the other stuff I've seen, I wonder if its got something to do with it being FF8 trained. Either way, they're gorgeous, my jaw actually dropped for real. Cant wait to see more!
