General Discussion / FFX question: the snowy mountain seymore battle.

Why should I even ATTEMPT do do this if he just uses cross cleave on me 5 moves in and kills my party?!  Is there something else I should be doing?  I have made sure all my aeons are on overdrive mode in preparation for the battle, but I can only use about two before he kills my whole party!  Is there any strategy that you guys used to get past him?  Thanks for all your help.

...to those people complaining about how FF doesn't look good on their computers.  And now, as I load up FFVIII PC, I notice that I am havin a hard time getting it NOT TO LOOK LIKE ASS.-_-  Little lines appear around my screen at random.  Is there a fix for this?  Please?  I'm dying to play FFVIII!!!
Also, in FFVII PC, the backgrounds seem to be divided up into little squares.
Here is my setup:
WinXP Home (This all happened before I got XP, also.)
1.2GHz AMD Athlon
GeForce2 ULTRA 64mb
384mb SDRAM

     There are a couple of things that i'm pondering now as I sit on my little rock, prodding my head and chanting "think... think... think...".  Will it hurt my computer to be on for about 7 days straight?  Because it has been.  And moreover;  bunnies.  What's up with them?  These are the little things that plague my mind.  Speaking of plague, I learned today that the bubonic one was started by pests.  I learned it from As Told By Ginger, a nickelodeon cartoon.  Imagine!  Is shocked me quite a bit; it was almost like the shock that I would get is someone told me that Germany was involved with WWII.  Anyway, i'm hungry now, and as Cole Richards would say, 'If you're hungry during thanksgiving, the terrorists have already won."  I gotta go get some pie.  And turn off my computer, bless him. :laugh:<---not laughing.  There wasn't a smiley for "talking too %$^# much, so I had to go with what I had.  It's a mad, mad, mad, mad world!

Scripting and Reverse Engineering / Why should I be authorized?

I dont need to be authorized, lets make that clear.  The reason why you might want to authorize me is because I have been told by teachers, parents, and other people that I have exceptional writing skills.  And I don't mean mechanical writing skills, I mean creative writing skills.  I am fourteen years old, and the end of the school year in five or six days ensures that I will have plenty of time to work on the project.  Other than writing, i'm a little hollow...  I can't program or anything, but if you need voice actors, give me a call.  I will be looking foreward to this game.
EDIT: Upon looking back through the tech related forum, I saw that I actually should be saying that I 'NEED' access to the FF7 remake forum.  It's up to you weather I actually do or not.

I have a coolmax fan on the side of my box sucking air in.  It has a little metal filter before it, kinda like screen door material.  It is supposed to catch dust, I think, (because that is exactly what it is doing!)  and the dust seems to clog it.  I took it out, and noticed a significant increase in airflow.  is it okay if I leave it out?  I don't want to clean the filter all the time.  The dust won't harm my pc, will it?  I know I can count on you people to give me a good answer.  I trust you guys!  Thanks.

There is a man in a doctor's office, and the doctor tells him that he has to lose 75 lbs or he'll die.  This worries the man.  The next day, he sees an ad in the paper that GUARUNTEES he will lose 10 lbs if he signs up for their easiest plan.  The man thinks that thats bullshit, but he signs up anyway.  The next week, when the workouts are supposed to start, he is up at 6 am, and is putting on his running shoes, when he hears a knock at his door.  When he opens it, there is a very beautiful woman, who happens to be naked with only running shoes on and a sign around her neck standing there.  The sign says, "If you catch me, you can have me!".  Once she sees that the man has read this, she takes off running.  After about a mile or so, the man catcheds up to her and... gets his way with her.  This happens for about a week, and then he sees that he's lost 10lbs.  He thinks, "Wow!!!" and so he calls the company and signs up for the 25lb workout.  The next week, an even MORE beautiful lady shows up naked, with the sign and the shoes like before.  This time, she runs faster and longer, and then he... gets his way with her.  This happens for about a week, and then the man sees that he has indeed lost 25lbs!  So, he calls the company, and orders the 40lb workout.  He is cautioned that this is a very strenuous workout, but he just brushes it aside, thinking about how beautiful the woman will be.  The next week, he gets a knock at his door, and he opens it, and there stands a naked Richard Simmons, with running shoes and a sign that says,"If I can catch you, I can have you!"

General Discussion / Minor problems while emulating FFIX

Kay,  only lately, I've been experiencing a little slowdown during movies.  I get 1/2 framerate, and the music starts skipping, but after five seconds of that the movie runs fine.  Then it starts up again!  I was using Pete's D3D driver, then updated to the 1.5's, and it still happened.  I am using Null2's Audio Driver 1.3 for sound, and I have the enable sound checked, as well as enable CDDA Sound, Enable XA sound, and Enable SPU IRQ hack, leaving the Enable XA read blank.
  A couple more questions tho...  for example, when a battle starts up, there is a drop in framerate and music slowdown, but then it gets all better.  Is this normal? And in the text boxes, just inside the boundaries, are little black lines surrounding the text. Can I get rid of these too?  And finally, and probably my biggest gripe, is the fact that there are little black lines surrounding the background animations and other things in the normal play screens.  I want to rid myself of those!

I suppose I should give you my system specs, but I assume that these are all WAY above standard for funning this game!

I'm just praying that what they say is TRUE, (that is, that FFX is really going to appear on the PC) and not just another rumor. I haven't seen anything anywhere else about it, sothat makes me worry. Also, the fact that they didn't port FFIX. But of course, there IS square's history of inconsistently bringing the Final Fantasy games overseas, and that consoles me into thinking that this is just another of their little 'inconsistencies'. Anyway, if anyone saw reports of a FFX port anywhere else on the net, please post it and relieve me of my anxiousness.

Thanks for the tip to run with limited framerates... IM SO HAPPY!
One more thing, tho, the sound still sounds like shit in the movies.  The sounds are happening before and after they should, and you can hardly hear the movies through the popping.  However, in the gameplay the sound is fine, except for major slowdowns in between sets and battles.  Any ideas on how to fix?

Hi! I have a great comp, so this SHOULD be working fine.  i have the BIOS, ePSXe, all the good plugins, and yet when i run from the cdrom drive, the music is REALLY crappy, and the videos and music are either way too fast or too slow!  When it gets to the gameplay part, the music slows down, and the play is normal, but the recorded 3d things are way too fast, as are the battles, and the little 2d animations in the background are just blurrs they go so fast!  Can someone help me, this is pretty much my only hope.

Ok, I got ePSXe and it says I need the psemu pro video and cdrom drivers.  I went to http://www.psemu.com," TARGET=_blank>www.psemu.com,  and I think it was hacked, so thats no use. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD SHOW ME WHERE ELSE THESE DRIVERS ARE! I NEED TO PLAY FF9!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
