New Hosting for FFSF
« on: 2003-02-06 15:01:41 »
I've completed my new server, so I can now take a load off of the school's web server by hosting my web page on my own server.  This means that there is a change in URL for the FFSF page.

Could some people check to make sure my new server is working right?  :P

Thanks.

The server is 266 MHz.  Should be plenty of power for a simple web server, though.

[Edit] Heh, I finally added a link to FFSF from my main page in the Links section.  If I could find more time to work on my main page, I'd be really happy, 'cause it has potential to be really cool.

Of course, the question must be asked:

You said you're hosting your own server, so does that mean that it won't be online 24/7 (similar to the reasons for when Fice's server goes offline 'cause he's not there to monitor it)?

It's running at my school.  I leave it on, no reason to turn it off really, so I guess it'll be on 24/7 unless it crashes or I have to restart it for an update or something.

Out of curiousity, just how speedy are you finding it?  Like, in kb/sec?
