Bootleg Questions / Re: [Tutorial] Tifa's Bootleg
« on: 2013-08-10 06:18:09 »
Ok, I've looked all over the place and did some searches on these forums, nothing seems to help my problem. Everything in the mod seems to work right, except that I don't have any music. Sound effects work fine. I've tried the solutions in these threads to no avail:

Any other ideas? The only thing I did after I ran the bootleg installer was to replace the opening movie with the HD one that Square redid. Anything would help! I can throw my own music on and it's ok, but I'd really love to play with real FF7 music.

Edit: I can apparently get it working with the original FF7 soundtrack but I'd prefer to have the remastered music. At least I have something now. Any ideas on how to get the remastered music working?

Solved Problems / Re: Combining Kernels
« on: 2011-06-20 03:07:03 »
Ultima Espio only modified the umbrella IIRC, so in order to get the changes he did from his kernal to the hardcore mod, all you need to do is open his kernal and gjoe's kernal and replicate the stats and effects for the umbrella in gjoe's kernal.

Excellent.  Would I then just copy Espio's .lgp files (after they're extracted of course) over gjoe's?  Or would it be the other way around?

Solved Problems / SOLVED: Combining Kernels

I'm trying to get both Gjoerulv's increased difficulty mod and Ultima Espio Final Fantasy VII Aeris patch's mods working together.  Ultima Espio said that it's possible if I edit Gjoerulv's kernel with the changes from his.  I'm looking at WallMarket but I'm not sure how to accomplish this.  Can anyone help out?

4
Then for the .lpg files, do I just copy yours over his?  Or the other way around?

5
Probably not easy to describe how to use WallMarket is it? :P  I know how to edit the current Kernel, I just don't know how to incorporate your kernel into the other one.

6
I was using Kuugen's Crazies mod which hasn't been updated in a while so used an earlier version of your mod.  Didn't like what it did to the game anyway so I am just using yours right now.  I've opened up wallmarket and have no idea what I'm doing >.<  Trying to figure this out from scratch is fairly daunting.

7
Excellent, I'll try it out and see what I can do.  Thanks so much for your help so far!

8
How do I edit the Kernel?  Unfortunately I've never gone farther than edited lgp files.  And would I need to do anything with scene.bin?

9
I think it was a conflict with another mod.  Got it sorted out now.

I do have a question though.  I like playing with one of the increased difficulty mod made by Gjoerulv, and I know I can't mix kernels and scene.bin.  Is there any way to get your mod and his behaving nicely together?

10
Now I'm getting an "Error: Could not open earith.09" problem. Any ideas?

Solved Problems / Re: flevel.lgp compile problem
« on: 2011-06-18 03:22:09 »
When I used lgp tools to extract I got in game errors about flevel being bad or something.  Now that I used Aali's I don't have the ingame error, but those errors worry me.

12
I'm trying to use a mod (Ultima Espio Final Fantasy VII Aeris patch), when I unlgp the original flevel.lgp through the command prompt with Aali's tool it extracts fine, but when I extract the file in the download for the mod I get 9 errors:
Broken lookup table, FF7 may not be able to find b_eye2.tex
Broken lookup table, FF7 may not be able to find b_eye2r.tex
Broken lookup table, FF7 may not be able to find c_eye2.tex
Broken lookup table, FF7 may not be able to find c_eye2r.tex
Broken lookup table, FF7 may not be able to find t_eye2.tex
Broken lookup table, FF7 may not be able to find t_eye2r.tex
Broken lookup table, FF7 may not be able to find v_eye2.tex
Broken lookup table, FF7 may not be able to find v_eye2r.tex
Broken lookup table, FF7 may not be able to find y_eye2.tex
Broken lookup table, FF7 may not be able to find y_eye2r.tex

What does this mean?

13
I used Highwind but I'm not sure how to do it any other way.  Could you explain it by chance?

Edit: Nevermind, just googled it and got a youtube video :P

14
When I compile then replace the flevel.lgp file, whenever I enter any area I get a "GLITCH: broken LGP file ( flevel), don't use LGP tools!" error.  Any ideas why?

Solved Problems / SOLVED: HQ movie replacement for FF7
« on: 2011-06-11 09:04:44 »
I did a search and couldn't find anything relating to my question.  I installed FF7 on my PC a year or two ago and I was able to replace the avis in the game with HQ replacements.  Now I can't seem to find any information on this whatsoever anywhere on the internet.  Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Edit: Did a little more searching and found what I was looking for.

Also, try starting the game in a window.  My graphics are significantly worse when I'm using it full screen, though if I have it windowed at the same size the graphics are a ton better.  Not sure why that is, but I think it may affect your battle box as well.

Edit: Ok, it doesn't change the size of the battle box, but still makes the graphics way better.

Troubleshooting / Re: No sound in game or FMVs (solved)
« on: 2009-07-25 04:23:50 »
Hrm, so apparently it was tunebite all along.  I ended up un-installing tunebite then re-installing my sound drivers and the drivers showed up in the FFconfig.  They still didn't work in game until I used Loopbe, but with it they work perfectly.  It's much more satisfying using limits when you can actually hear them ;).  Anyway, thanks for your help!  I appreciate it!

Alright, I updated my audio drivers and nothing changed.  I then uninstalled those drivers and installed drivers from around the time I last played, since it's the same hardware, only Windows is different.  That didn't work either.  The sound card still never showed up in the midi sound driver box, either time I installed new drivers.  All I have in that box is a crap ton of Tunebite High-Speed dubbing things.  I doubt Tunebite is the culprit, but I'm not sure.  I also can't for the life of me figure out why my sound driver isn't showing up in that box.

Yeah, none have worked so far, but it's not just FMVs.  Sound since the very beginning hasnt worked, the opening movie when I start the game doesn't have sound either.  Battle sounds and menu sounds don't work.

Troubleshooting / No sound in game or FMVs (solved)
« on: 2009-07-23 07:50:21 »
I decided to give FF7 another play through, so I dug through my old games and found it again.  I'd used some of the patches here before, and everything worked perfectly, but this time when I installed everything, the SFX and the FMV sounds don't work.  Before I was using Windows XP, and now I'm using Windows 7x64.  I searched around a bit, and found some promising threads, though none ended up working.  I tried using FF7music and Loopbe to no avail.  The thing that makes me wonder is that in the tab for Sound in FFconfig my audio driver doesn't show up in that box.  The music is working fine, with or without FF7music, so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the problem.  Also, when I test the SFX in ffconfig they work fine, and the sound comes out of the correct speakers.  I'm at a complete loss as to what to do now, hopefully someone here has found a solution to the problem.

Edit:  It may be that I'm not using Loopbe correctly, but there aren't many options.  I changed my Midi settings to use Loopbe, while I run FFmusic through the GS wavewhatever synthesizer.  All I have when I open the Loopbe window is a box to either mute or unmute, so I can't imagine that I'm doing that part incorrectly.
