I recently bought FF8PC. It plays fine, only the Text Box's and Menu's are weird looking.. Here is a pic of what I'm talking about.. http://briankun.tripod.com/ff8.html
I'm using a NVIDIA Riva TNT2 M64. But, is there a way to make the T-box/Menu's look decent? Its not that big of a deal, but I'm picky... They look fine in Software mode, but the above screen grab is from hardware mode. So, can I tweak this?[This message has been edited by Briankun (edited August 28, 2001).]

FF8 used to look like that on my old Savage4 ... the bad news is, I never did manage to get it looking any different. Sorry

Used to look like that on my TNT 2 to. Dont think there is much you can do. It does look a lot better on my GeForce 3 but they still dont look as smooth as the Psx version for some reason.
Sorry.

The 16bit image quality on TNT boards isn't exactly good...there isn't really anything you can do about that.

try lowering gamma correction from "display properties". That should help a lot with the bad colors.

I am havving the same problem on the same card NVIDIA Riva TNT2 M64.
I 'd tried lowering gamma correction from "display properties" but it won't help at all...
Is there anyway to fix this??

I have a 3D Prophet 2 MX, and my menus look exactly like that. I never really had the drive to fix the appearance since it never really bothered me. Until about, oh, 1 and a half years ago, the only computer I had to use was a 386 with a 16 color VGA, so I guess these odd colors don't bother me.

You could do 2 things to improve that,
1º Use FSAA - 2 Samples Usually Works
2º Get a Voodoo2 or Other Card That Supports 8Bit's Palletized Textures
