General Discussion / Re: Apps for final Fantasy
« on: 2015-02-03 20:15:38 »
They have an app for that. But it isn't always easy to get a around to what you want
Edit.
the information is widely available online and not finding it isn't the problem. I'm just looking for the convenience of an app

General Discussion / Apps for final Fantasy
« on: 2015-02-03 19:46:06 »
Im playing through the ffx HD remaster and im looking for good android apps for super completion. I found a couple but they're lacking a little.

-game guides wiki app (pretty good but requires Internet connection and navigation can be a pain)

-ffx monster arena lite (only for monster arena. It gives good information and let's you keep a tally of how many monsters you captured, but I think there may be copyright issues because it's not featured on the play store)

-ffx item search (had great information but ui navigation is a search bar not a list)

Any good apps for ffx or any of the ff series

General Discussion / Re: It's been awhile
« on: 2015-01-24 18:01:38 »
I was on when the ff7 pc  re-release came out before the steam release. I communicated with dlpb (I believe you were more interested in pure differences of the old and new releases) , the creator of black chocobo, and I believe someone else to figure out how to get the re-release to stop deleting edited and imported saves. I found a work around by switching the save file at a certain screen while the game was on. Then shortly after black chocobo was updated to edit the metadata.Xml  so saves wouldn't be deleted.

So much stuff though. Is there any grunt work that  can be done? I'm no coder and my modeling is easily outdone visually and with less polies and my texturing is even worse. I have a general knowledge of batch files and a fair share of experience on qhimm.

rsaa released check op for link.

Whiteraven hasnt been active so if theres anyone good with photo shop i need a hand changing over the current texture color

for models needing redoing or simply done in general what is the poly limit? from what i understand the game can handle quite a bit but for the sake of efficient use of resources what should the limit be per model piece(clouds head, foot, arm etc) and model overall (cloud as a whole)

im not sure but jinkazama may have been banned for his illegal mod compilation, multiple user accounts and arguing the fact. a mod could confirm this. so you may need another method of contacting him

Team Avalanche / Re: will this be compatible with bootleg?
« on: 2012-11-17 22:19:17 »
bootleg is made to be compatible with mods it is updated everynow and then. so if a new mod or an unsupported/illegal mod comes out bootleg wont be able to support it until the next mod or not at all if its illegal. also outdated mods will have support dropped periodically.

i think i mentioned it before to pitbrat, but a plugin system to allow extensions to bootleg would be great especially if he stops working on the scene.

Ive used avg for the past year. They have a free version so it doesnt run out and u Dont have to buy it. Ive had better experiences with it than norton and mcafee. Idk how it compares in resources but it doesnt harass you. It does its job well enough

the size of a texture is trivial. as long as it keeps the same proportions they can be resized and touched up easily.

Data recovery first priority. Functionality second. So magnets no. And who is this guy. He seems like some random a-hole

im pretty sure a strong magnet is how they erase all data off hdds

18
I have all day tomorrow to fix it. It will be done within 30 hrs

19
Last night I discovered how to fix my cait sith weapons. Some polys are backwards and that was causing the issue where you see through them at certain angles. ill fix this asap and set up the file as i did before. If its too late to get into bootleg ill create an installer for them to make it easy and quick for people.

Bootleg Questions / Re: [Tutorial] Tifa's Bootleg
« on: 2012-10-31 09:18:13 »
youll be able to pm after 5 posts in threads you got one more to go.

you maybe be able to rerun bootleg in some cases for models and such but models are about it. if you change anything else then you have to backup your saves, uninstall ff7, delete the ff7 folder, restart, reinstall everything

21
backup your backup. yea it sux but that part wasnt even in the eula or anything. it was on the download page. or a page before it. i remember seeing it though it wasnt hidden

22
well depends. if a laptop only comes with 2gb or 4gb but its max is 8gb or higher then its better to put a 64 bit on it. but if its a netbook with a max of 2 then theres no point.

in my oppinion max ram is what matters not current ram.

FF7 Tools / Re: useful batch file sorts battle lgp
« on: 2012-10-26 10:29:18 »
final edit. the batch file is fixed in the op. the problem was i had the commands to create the folder but i had the wrong folder name in the move commands. if any other issues come up with it feel free to let me know.

im making a batch that further sorts the files in the battle lgp.

i may continue this for most of the lgp files containing models.

if the above happens i may set up a program with inno that will let you decide the directory where the files are and also the type of lgp file you are sorting. and possibly even dumping an lgp file then sorting it
