I think this is a translation issue. But go through the bombing mission up to where they set up the bomb at the Reactor before the fight with GS.  Something with Barret's line .  I should make a screen shot but I think he is saying: "  Barret: What is it? " after Cloud's little episode.    However, his line translates to: " Barret:......is it? "

If I had the knowledge and the resources i'd help. I like the 3d mouths for the characters but I did say the original looked good.   It all looks great,  just can't express my thanks enough for the hard work you put in. <3

Ah, well i've dropped that part and started using your models. They're very detailed and kept in original concept as opposed to the break in other models by others. xD The Sephiroth model got me in love the moment I got to the first part seeing him in Cloud's past.   I have a question, with your overhaul pack, what sort of future updates can be expected when you have the time to work on them? I assume more battle models for some supporting characters like Reno, Rude, Rufus and Sephiroth if they're worth working on.

Well it could also be that with the internet ports open it's conflicting with the installation, in my theory. Before I gained some knowledge with this project I did tests and running the internet Explorers like the original IE. Chrome, Firefox or whatever can conflict with things. xP Just trying to figure out a solution for his issue.

Im trying to wiggle myself through the settings I've set the music on PSF Midi when the music setup comes and I close it does install the PSF Midi in the Bootleg window but then after some time it gets to a point where it says
Copying dummy textures and now it's stuck at that part

Hmm...do you have any internet browser open while installing bootleg?

I've waited literally more than 30min and it didn't go past the 15% mark ever how long did it take for you?

With the way I have mine set up, with help from VGR and Alyza, it took no less than three minutes for the FF7music to install. The total time it took for everything to install was an hour. Honestly, I think it's something with your computer. It shouldn't take that long. Are you running on a Windows Vista, Seven, or Eight?

This error means Bootleg cannot write to the folder. In 95% of the cases this means it's not running as admin, but this can also mean the folder is read-only. Check to disable if that's the case.

Oh I forgot to state that yes it's the FF7 from Square-Enix shop

So it doesn't work because it's in the games folder!? Must I do a full unistall/reinstall directly to C:\ or does simply moving the folder help?
Not on my PC otm but will update as soon as I get home

A fresh install will help.  Like I said, do a fresh install to the drive C:\ in any folder you create in that area.  Then follow the steps I provided.

Thanks for the amazing guide!! Really looking forward replaying this gem with some updated graphics HOWEVER
i'm stuck with a problem


The thing is I've set both programs to run as admin in compatibility turned my UAC off all my mods are GREEN etc
but still I get this message of run the program as ADMIN Anyone know what possibly could be wrong

It's the installation you have the game in.  You have to install the game into your Hard drive, in a new folder not in the games folder but the hard drive itself . For instance. C:\FF7epic\Final Fantasy VII .  When you create that folder, whatever antivirus you have, you need to set the exclusions for scans so it doesn't interrupt. Right click and select properties on the installed folder,  Turn off your anti virus before running bootleg. Where it says "Read-Only" click it so it's OFF or emptied. Apply, and include subfolders. 


Edit - Forgive the ignorance, looked at the photo and saw you did have the 2012 release.

There is another thing too. Take a look at the older cloud Revision, I think that's your work. The APZ tweak. You might have to take a look at the Buster sword model in battle, check the angle of it because when I looked at it, it's angled weird. I'll try to get a snapshot of it when I can but definitely look into it.

The blade looks turned to the left when the camera pan is facing cloud in battle. When he swings it looks like he's swinging it diagonally when the blade is turned a bit more and the Omnislash special has the blade turned.   Just giving the info where it should be. It's not a big issue but something that can be fixed, if I could do it, i'd do it myself but I am so busy with school, I don't want to ruin the model by mistake during multi task.

Edit: Now Reno looks like he's in some sort of Dancing pose. xD Did I do something wrong? I went to the Gongaga area, and saw him in a weird position similar to Vincent's pose at the Funeral of Aerith. Is this how it is or did I mess up something with the files?

I have this issue already assessed . Thanks to VGR giving me the bump to the Reunion project. I got the changes I needed, I had no difficulty mods chosen in bootleg, just the normal original mod. <3

Ah, forgive me. I was told about this project by a moderator whom i've been giving word with a different project. I took a look at the first page, read every step and found this to be very helpful "Dan".  I did a fresh install, installed this over Bootleg (Just the retranslation WITHOUT having it selected in bootleg prior.) And it fixes every problem I have had so far..  You saved me five months worth of tests. xD   Keep up the work and hope things go well for the next release.

Okay, concerning the retranslation project fixing the time counters I need for the Shinra Mansion and the train. I have to say it worked. BUT.. I did it on an initial install of Bootleg with a fresh install . I dislike the retranslation, but, I will work with it and get my happy self over it.  I wanted to keep the original , but meh.  I have canon names, items and american spelling checked. It fixed everything with the retranslation checked.  To the point at hand, i'm good now. e.e After weeks of tests, i'm good.

Edit: Scratch that, I checked the american spelling thing and it just retranslated anyway. The duck man!?

i fixed my half counter problem by reinstalling, i had to manually install my Menu Overhaul and selected Retranslation(someone suggested this would work). I now have fully visible Countdowns.

You could try to backup the game files and try to install Menu Overhaul. If it doesn't work you can just go back.

I see, but when you manually reinstall it and copy the files in, do you recopy the files of the Kernels and the ff7.exe back into place afterwards so you won't lose your chosen models and stuff?

Has anyone else found a complete fix for the [half counter] issue from the Menu Overhaul? I figure one would just reinstall the menu overhaul completely and overwrite the copy paste. But, I am too hesitant about this. I don't like redoing things too many times. e.e

It has something to do with Menu Overhaul, but it's not the Save Anywhere option.

Ok, I still got another problem. This one is with the Countdown. Everytime there is Countdowntimer the digits are only partly visible(the upper 10-20% maybe) and I can only guess the number. It was extremely difficult inputing the keycode at the Shinra mansion. How can I fix it? Do i have to reinstall the mods? Which options do I check?

Edit: I got that fixed now by reinstalling completely but i can't Save anywhere now. I made sure i checked the Option in the bootleg.

Uh huh, so it's the save anywhere option that messes it up huh?
