Troubleshooting / Problem with ff7music
« on: 2003-07-02 21:22:00 »
I have problem with FF7Music. I didn't try it until recently, but it doesn't seem to work. I patched ff7.exe using cetra, created directory "Ficedula" in my ff7 dir, placed all ffmusic files in it, then placed ficedula.dll in ff7 dir (without it there was an error message saying it cannot be found). Then I configured it, but still all I can get is error message "Runtime error 217 at 0001A780", and just after it there is another one saying something like "Unable to run FF7MUSIC.DLL. Examine the file to find the problem" (it's not exactly this message, it's only translation because I have polish Win98SE so it's written in polish). Did anyone experience such a problem? Could anyone help me with it?

EDIT:
Tried to load it using regsvr32.exe -> "Load Library (>>ff7dir<<\ffmusic.dll) failed. GetLastError returns 0x00000485"

EDIT:
Version 1.05 gives "Runtime error 216 at 00002BE8"

Was just wondering... Does anyone know how the checksum for FF9 savegame on psx memory card is created?

[EDIT:] Tried to figure it out by disassembling, but got stuck on it (I'm not good at this kind of stuff  :weep: )

General Discussion / slowdown?
« on: 2001-09-19 19:09:00 »
Is this because of all this situation (moving the board) or is that only my isp fault. Up to this time this board was very fast for me, but now it takes ages for the pages to open. Even a thread with 3-4 posts opens 20 - 30 sec. Up to this time it was less than 1 sec. I am on cable modem now (for month now)and usually I have download speed 300+ kB/s, so this can't be because of slow connection.

General Discussion / FF9 on PC news
« on: 2001-05-05 19:46:00 »
I don't know if that's true or not but this is what I saw on Official Polish Final Fantasy Site (they're cooperating with im group - ff distributor in poland, and square).
The news is dated at 3rd may 2001.
------------------------------------------
Dostaliœmy kilkanascie maili od rozgor¹czkowanych fanów - czy news podany przez najnowszy Secret Service (maj 2001, nr 90) jest prawdziwy? Prima Aprilis by³ miesi¹c temu! Fantasy Garden jako jedyny polski site o Final Fantasy skierowa³ siê z prosb¹ o potwierdzenie tych informacji do samych korzeni, tj. do dzia³u wykonawczego Square. Oto fragment odpowiedzi:

"(...) We've been working on this project for almost six months now, and I can say it's kind of advanced now, and FF IX PC will be shipped near the winter season '01. (...)"

Now I'll try to translate this into english (it is very hard cause i don't know english very well..   :)

They just write that they have recieved lots of mail about news that was in Secret Service newspaper (nr90/05/2001) about the PC version of Final Fantasy 9 (some people thought it was a joke). The Fantasy Garden contacted Square and they recieved answer: "(...) We've been working on this project for almost six months now, and I can say it's kind of advanced now, and FF IX PC will be shipped near the winter season '01. (...)"
That only fragment of it...
It seems that maybe this winter or for sure spring 2002 there should be PC version of final fantasy 9. The rest of this news is not interesting...
Does someone know something about it? Is that true or they're wrong??????????
