FF7 PC on PSP?
« on: 2008-03-29 19:50:17 »
I know it is possible to run a makeshift OS like XP and Vista on the PSP, and though I am sure I already know the answer to this question I just have to ask.

Is it possible to take the files from FF7 PC along with a No CD crack, upload it to the PSP via a Windows program, and get it to run?

Since it is already easy to emulate PS1 games I don't see why it wouldn't be possible for it to run an "archaic" game like FF7; I just don't know how accurate the PSP OSs are.

Like you said - it's possible to play PS1 games on the PSP. So why not just play the PS1 version on your PSP?
I've got it on my PSP - it works well.

I think you're on a looser if you want the PC version on your PSP though.

I have the ISO of FF7 PS1 on my PSP and it does look quite good on the small screen.

However, if I can get the PC version working on it I will start trying to help IceCold with his Rejuvenation Project models.

It would be great to be able to play with updated music, models, and script on my PSP.

There is a DOS emulator which allows you to play really really old PC games - but getting FFVII PC onto your PSP just isn't going to happen.
You'd probably need the source code.

Yeah that's what I figured.  And I have no idea how to go about porting it all over to the PSP.

Do you think it would work if I install Linux on my PS3, install FF7 PC on it, and then then stream the video to my PSP while also using the PSP to control it?

EDIT:  Streaming the gameplay from the computer to the PSP using PVNC is very ineffective.  I think the only way to really play the PC version on a PSP would be to port the source over.  So for now it's just not possible.

You aren't downgrading your PSP, you're installing custom firmware (CFW) on it.   CFW is exactly the same as the official firmware except you are able to add cool programs and do nearly unlimited things to it.

There is no reason not to install CFW unless you are truly that bad at doing research and/or working with CPU software/hardware.

Yeah - you can install the 3.90 M33 custom firmware and use Popsloader to run the 3.71 PSX emulator.
