I figured out what the issue was. Kaldarasha's Jessie model under the Field Models - Non-Player Characters mod was causing the Animations mod to do nothing, if you change her model to any of the others then it works fine.

Sorry if someone already made a thread on this, but I've been following the 7H tutorial and put all the mods in the proper load order, however the animation mod doesn't seem to be working. I've tested the field animations both on and off and they look identical, there's also no idle animation like is shown in the youtube video. I've tried disabling other mods like the dynamic cloud weapons mod, I also tried importing an older animation mod from the original thread, and nothing seems to be working.

Is this a known issue, or something I'm doing wrong?

Omg this is amazing. I've been busy the last few days and come back to this. I'm impressed, looks like Midgar is close to completion. Just a few things left like the slums and some buildings, but the majority of Midgar is out of the way now. Great work guys.

So after you're done the Midgar project do you think you'll model other areas in FF7? I mean that would be a huge undertaking for only 2 guys, so I wouldn't expect you to. Hopefully your work here will inspire others to make FF7 a whole lot better. I don't see Square Enix making a remake anytime in the near future.

I could be wrong, but I don't think Sapphire and SpooX plan on remaking the FMVs, just the in-game fields.

it's just the same as you see here, you see images OF the 3d models, not the models itself.
Even Squaresoft did the models to produce the images, only this time we do it better, with better technology.

Ah, this makes sense. Can't wait to get a beta build of this to test out. Great work guys, I wish I knew 3D Modelling so I could help out.

Dude I come in this thread everyday to see the updates on this project. You are amazing.

Noob question: How will you be able to incorporate this into the game when its complete? It was my understanding that this game was built on images not 3D models.

I did a search before and only found this

Same problem but it doesn't mention a fix.

Also I installed FF7 on another PC I have, and opened up the char.lgp file, there is no file called l_hand.rsd. It must be named something else.

After many days of getting FF7 to function correctly I believed I finally succeeded at that until this happened. This is purely aesthetic and doesn't affect the game in any way that I can see.

So after you bomb the reactor at the beginning of the game Cloud bumps into Aerith for the first time. When this happened red text at the bottom of the screen appeared and said: could not open file l_hand.RSD

I quit the game and opened the APP log from the FF7 music patch and copied this:

ERROR: failed to find file char/l_hand.RSD (LGP) (path: )
ERROR: offset error: l_hand.RSD
ERROR: could not open file l_hand.RSD

I went into my char.lgp and didn't see a file called l_hand.rsd. So I checked the File Reconstruction Project for which files have to do with Aerith's hand, and I have every file on that list. Granted it's not a complete list.

I'm not really sure what to do here. Thanks.

Sorry I have Windows 7 and it's the NTSC version.

I didn't realize there was a newer version of Aali's driver, I'll try it out and see if it fixes my problem.

Solved Problems / SOLVED: Black screen on startup

Ok so I reinstalled FF7 using my ISO's, I did a maximum install and restarted my computer. I then applied patch 1.02.

Now in order to install Aali's custom graphics driver I need to play the game for a bit to create 10 saves. Well when I start the game it's just a black screen, no music nothing.

I left it like that for 30 minutes didn't change. Only way to go back to the desktop was through the task manager.

I downloaded and installed the TrueMotion Codec and K-Lite. Still the same problem. Tried running the ff7.exe in different compatability modes and running as administrator, didn't help.

I'm out of ideas. I tried to reinstall it and I get the same problem.
