Note: Unless you know exactly what you're doing, do not try to mix the installer version of the translation with other mods. If you want to mix mods I heavily recommend to use 7th Haeven and install both the translation and other mods from that tool.

7th Heaven Installation:

This project's goal is to retranslate FF7 into Italian using Daniel Burke's Reunion as the English source for the dialogues, while constantly cross-checking with the original Japanese script. For non-dialogue terms I will be reusing official translations as much as possible. My aim is not to have a localization that looks only to FF7 as a stand-alone game, i want it to blend well with the other Final Fantasy games we already have in Italian.

Among the fixes from the original script: Cait Sith has the accent it needs (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnoPcysVpos) (link to video preview), Reno gets his verbal tic adapted, Red XIII speech pattern emphasizes pre and post Cosmo Canyon... and much more. the pach is not compatible with 7thHeaven because it only works with the ff7_bc.exe so you can't use the mods ... do you have a solution?

At this stage it's not meant to be used with any mod. It's to be used only with vanilla steam FF7 1.0.9.

BTW I've updated the installer a few times today. In case someone has the very first version you should download and patch again. There were a few bugs. Mostly dialogue windows "spilling over" to the black portion of the screen in the bottom, which should never happen.

Chapeau! That's a massive work and I hope this will help you finding a good proof checker. "In bocca al lupo" Caledor and thank you to keep updating us. Happy to see that FFVII will get his final justice also in Italian. It deserves it. I cannot wait too see more on Barret dialogues, Reno and Nanaki.

I followed the proofread so my translation is already much closer to R06 than it is to R05c. Also yes, I already planned to recheck everything anyway.

May I ask if the graphical "Miss" in combat will be translated in "Mancato"? I remember in the italian scene of modding someone got already this to work.

Sadnes has it, and IIRC i was having trouble porting it so i set it aside. Will probably try again for the full release.

Hello i have a problem with this patch :
i tried to UNINSTALL and clean the registry and re-install everything in this order :

Max.Install + Official Patch 1.0.2 + Aali's driver 0.8.1b and after all that the "Final Fantasy 7 ITA Reloaded" patch

At this point without setting anything else after the install process, i have tried the game : everything worked including the STATUS menu.

Now, i have started to modify, in the window of the FF7 ITA RELOADED patch, one parameter per time (this windows contain mainly 5 voices (in italian)
1- Gioca a FF7 (play ff7)  - when everything is ready, click here
2- Opzioni grafiche (Graphic options) - to set full screen, window, advanced shader (2.0, 1.1).
3- Resolution details (640x480, 800x600, etc to select)
4- Game option (3 voices inside that can be on/off ed : Energy and damage over 9999, Magic defence correction, game speed correction)
5- Disc selection

Ok, now, everything i modified didn't make the status menu crash again, apart the GAME OPTION - ENERGY AND DAMAGE OVER 9999 :
when i turn it on, then when i try to access the STATUS menu, the game crashes with that window ERROR : Oops! something very bad happened etc etc.

So, i really thing at this point there is a problem with the FF7 ITA RELOADED patch : is there anybody that can solve this problem or contact INDREMA that posted first the patch on this forum please? thanks very much :-)

I'm still working in a simple italian translation port for the steam version (from sadnes psx) but i've got problem in real life and editing the image file

The sadnes version Is translated, but with a terribile color (it appear white with grey dot). I've tried to change but always got problem with palette

I've solved all issues with .tex files and palettes a long time ago, so i could easily port & fix Sadnes' "mancato". I simply didn't like the outcome.

As for progress, i stopped after translating the end of disc one, i'm currently waiting for R06

Since this is mostly a translation of DLPB's The Reunion, it's highly likely that it will be compatible with the same mods as that.

Finished a full review of disc 1. I now consider 67% of the translation final.
Started working on Disc 2 and i'll probably follow the proofcheck of Beacause from now on.

ATM i've finished Icicle Inn (Loggia gelata).

Submarine acquired. Aka 90% DONE.

Funny how (real) cloud enjoys taking prisoners instead of fighting (https://imgur.com/a/1oLQswI) (yes, even dogs). Also, his enemies love him for that (https://imgur.com/a/CjpHULG).

Flevel is 100% DONE. Only things missing for full release are text from the submarine minigame and texture alignment in the snowboard minigame.

I honestly dunno. This translation replaces a lot of files (remember, built upon Reunion R05) so "out of the box" it won't work with anything probably. People will have to mess with files on their own, replacing files and repacking LGPs, especially for mods that enhance graphics.

Goal was to get one working release first, combatibility will come later.

In questo punto della Città dimenticata subito dopo aver chiuso la finestra di dialogo dobbiamo entrare nella cascata ma il personaggio non si muove più ed è impossibile andare oltre. Il gioco continua ad andare, semplicemente il personaggio non si muove.

Ho provato con un installazione pulita senza traduzione e rifunziona tranquillamente, ma come la rimetto la patch ritorna il problema.

Nella parte finale del gioco, in questo punto della Città dimenticata subito dopo aver chiuso la finestra di dialogo dobbiamo attraversare la cascata ma il personaggio non si muove più ed è impossibile andare oltre. Il gioco continua ad andare, semplicemente il personaggio non si muove.

Added italian magic.lgp with sadnes' textures: Supernova and card tarots. Thanks usb!  :wink:

EDIT: uploaded new installer to fix a few typos (reported by Kuraudo). I tend to do these and save version updates for bigger changes so check the "Last update" from time to time.

EDIT2: v1.03 fixes in-battle help text spillover and some more typos. Thanks Kuraudo!

EDIT3: v1.03 is still being updated to fix typos thanks to Kuraudo's support. The 27/12 update fixes Mutsunokami's name (it was still Yoshiyuki) and changes Ultra Might name's to Wolframer (from XV).

Finally. I'm very grateful and happy with this new translation, dialogues finally make sense especially for secondary characters. Many details are restored.

It is very clear translation and brings new life to the game. The main characters are very organic and more you go ahead more you notice it.

More people should try this, definetely.

Thanks to Kuraudo's help, whom i can't thank enough, the translation is constantly being updated to fix typos and/or address other minor nuances. He just finished playing disc 1, so i think it's a good time to also have a version upgrade instead of the usual "ghost" v1.03 upload.

Oh and, since it's just switched to the 31th, I wish you all a happy new year!  ;D

After finishing the playthrough, my two cents:

Pro:
• Each dialogue updated.
• Characters from scratch.
• Dialect for Cait Sith as per OG.
• Red XIII evolution pre-Cosmo and after-Cosmo.
• Reno has his tic back.
• No more censorship.
• Balanced in-world terminology.
• Loyal. With a look to the Jap.
• Restored important story details.
• Updated and final Italian translation.

Contro:
R06 support for an improved and modding experience. (now supports modding with 7th Heaven 2.3+ !)
• Hope that dialect thing in "that" city will get through in future, as per the japanese version.

Each Italian FFVII fan should be trying this out.

Pro:
• Ogni singolo dialogo è aggiornato.
• La personalità dei personaggi è super curata.
• Il dialetto utilizzato da Cait Sith, come esattamente vuole l'originale giapponese.
• Evoluzione di Red XIII pre-Cosmo e dopo-Cosmo ripristinata come vuole l'originale giapponese.
• Reno ha di nuovo il tic nella sua parlata come nell'originale giapponese.
• Non ci sono più parole censurate da @#$%.
• Terminologia di oggetti, armi, etc. in-game ben bilanciata.
• Fedele. Con un occhio alla versione giapponese dei dialoghi.
• Ripristinati importanti dettagli della storia.
• La traduzione finale italiana, la migliore in circolazione.

Contro:
Spero per un futuro supporto R06 per una esperienza modding customizzabile. (ora è anche disponibile su 7th Heaven 2.3+ !)
• Spero che il dialetto di "quella" città venga ripristinato, come vuole la versione giapponese.

I'm trying to port your translation for R06 just for me and I've found missing texture translation in data\cd\cr_us.lgp (I've got the italian file and should be from sadnes) and disc_us.lgp (this one should be not used right?).

With this program http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=16431.0 I've also edited cr_us.lgp\people.bin (end credits staff) to add italian localization credits (not already tested), just for fun. Caledor anzitutto grazie per il lavorone enorme. L'ultima volta che ho giocato in italiano fu con la traduzione dei sadness eoni fa... ho una voglia MATTA di riprenderlo e ammazzare l'attesa per il remake e viverlo il più vicino all'originale possibile (per quanto riguarda la storia, i dialoghi etc). Al contempo però, ho letto di una mod, la new threat, che aggiunge un pò di sfida è un pò di "modifiche" al gameplay e vorrei tanto... TANTO... provarla. Non ci capisco molto, ma da quel che ho potuto capire, non è compatibile. C'è una vaga speranza che ciò accada? Potrei fare due run distinte, chiaramente... però sono un pigrone.

Ho dato una rapida occhiata a NT e sì, direi che è incompatibile. L'idea era che alle brutte potevi provare una traduzione "monca" su NT, rimpiazzando il solo file coi dialoghi del field (e il resto in inglese), ma ha fatto pesanti modifiche pure lì.

Non c'è assolutamente modo che NT si incastri con una qualsiasi traduzione... andrebbero tradotti direttamente i testi di quella mod.

In teoria il senso delle frasi è più o meno lo stesso, non dovrebbero esserci grandi stravolgimenti, sono state tolte diverse battute di alcuni personaggi ed aggiunto qualcosina come oggetti o singole battute

e nello scene.bin solo per 4-5 righe (tutti versi Kuèèè dei chocobo mancanti)

Le texture da tradurre dovrebbero essere le stesse, solo rese modulari e non più necessario ricompilarle nell'lgp
l'exe non è più necessario ricompilarlo, la traduzione è su un file txt (con la R06 però lo spazio disponibile nelle dimensioni dei menu è ridotto all'osso, occorre abbreviare il più possibile)

Il numero dei dialoghi è la parte meno rilevante di tutte: andrebbero portate tutte le mie modifiche fatte all'exe e allo script per accomodare la nuova traduzione e fixare bug. E anche in quel caso non sarebbe compatibile con NT

After all i've been the one saying that people should just grab the flevel and put it in whatever framework allows modding if they were ok with the compromise. This is not that different.

Buona sera, ho iniziato da pochissimo a giocare per provare la mod in italiano, ma ho riscontrato un problemino con l'interfaccia. È capitato in alcune battaglie che il testo di alcune azioni nemiche fosse fuori dal riquadro previsto. Nel dubbio ho cercato qualche video di un ragazzo che ha streammato il gioco (gamedex83) per vedere se fosse solo un mio problema, ma dal video non l'ho riscontrato quindi mi domando se non fosse un errore di qualche aggiornamento fatto alla mod (ho scaricato l'ultima versione la 1.0.8a) .

Già, scusa, avrei dovuto informarvi prima. è un problema noto

Al momento lo sto volutamente lasciando in sospeso perché

1) è un bug minore
2) non accade sempre
3) verrà fixato definitivamente quando passerò a R06 come base

Inoltre, posso "fixarlo" tornando a vanilla (cioè avendo il box sempre a larghezza max, come accade nel gioco originale) in qualsiasi momento. Se vedo che il passaggio a R06 va troppo per le lunghe adotterò temporaneamente questa soluzione.

OT: fa piacere che le live di gamerdex siano conosciute, devo dire che ci stiamo divertendo non poco, sia lui a giocarlo che io dalla chat. :D

Both the CTRL+Q quit and Quit in the main menu were removed by DLPB's Reunion. I managed to restore the latter.
About your other report in Rinoa's forum, it was a known compromise from an even worse bug. Latest version removes the bug completely, but command box size is now fixed at max lenght, just like vanilla.

sì è un cambiamento che ho ereditato da Reunion (sulla quale questa mod è costruita) e che non ho rettificato, dato che appare la scritta Omni col numero di utilizzi rimanenti in basso a destra quando si porta il cursore su queste magie. Stessa cosa succede per Tetramagia.

Non avevo mai giocato prima ff7 su pc ho quindi provato ad aggiungere questa mod dopo aver installato anche la mod remako e quella a 60fps con 7Heaven.
Avevo letto non erano compatibili ma sembra funzionare tutto.
Ho solo un dubbio dato che non ho termini di confronto avendo istallato subito le mod.
è normale avere i dialoghi in italiano ma i menu in inglese? o dipende dal fatto che ho unito le 2 mod?

Sì LiberFatalis, dipende proprio da quello.

Il disclaimer di "non compatibilità" dipende soprattutto dal fatto che io modifico pesantemente l'eseguibile, modifiche che naturalmente vanno perse usando quello di 7th Heaven o un altro. Tra l'altro l'eseguibile stesso contiene alcuni testi, tra cui tutti i menu (e altro), quindi c'è il grosso rischio che prima o poi dia problemi.

sto continuando a giocare ma SFORTUNATAMENTE sono incappato in un BUG CHE BLOCCA IL PROSEGUIMENTO

Nello specifico nel MINIGAME della PARATA. Quando provo ad allinearmi agli altri commilitoni, il caposquadra mi richiama SEMPRE indietro non permettendomi di allinearmi e continuare il minigioco. Tetstato con PATCH 1.11

Ho provato con la versione liscia di STEAM e tutto funziona perfettamente, provo ad allinearmi agl altri commilitoni, il caposquadra mi da il tempo, resto indietro (ma questo perchè sono scarso io) ed il gioco va avanti con il filmato normalmente

Che tu sappia è un BUG noto? (magari scaturito dalla reunion su cui si basa la tua traduzione?)

Se ti può servire ho il SAVE poco prima del punto incriminato ;)

Ma figurati, fai benissimo a riportare.

La parata non è proprio un bug. é stata notevolmente complicata da Reunion... che in pratica ha reso i requisiti per la posizione MOLTO più stringenti. Io ho eliminato buona parte di quella difficoltà aggiunta (io stesso l'ho trovata praticamente impossibile), ma è comunque rimasta più esigente dell'originale.

In pratica... devi solo essere più rapido e preciso nel posizionamento. Tra l'altro, per i primi 2-3 tentativi è molto esigente, dal terzo in poi si rilassa ulteriormente (quando ormai l'audience sceso è a singola cifra).

Ma comunque non devi fare errori, se ad esempio sfiori uno fallisci a prescindere. Corri, passi dietro e te ne vai nel tuo spazio, il tempo c'è, te lo assicuro. L'ho fatta fino allo sfinimento per adattare la difficoltà, a una certa non lo fallivo praticamente mai.

I'm using your italian translation with 7th Heaven. I'm loving it. I wanted to ask you, when you changed the User Interface, by chance did you also rise the max playtime after 99 hours? I'm using your High Res Texture IRO, but if I try to use the Enhanced stock UI mod (that rises max playtime from 99 to 999 hours) it's creating a conflict.

Hi Onizuka, I honestly don't remember that point specifically because i might have inherited it from DLPB's R05 but using another UI mod on top of my own it's bound to cause conflicts because both will try to alter the same regions in the executable.

Hours from 99 up to 999 will be displayed correctly in the menu. I just tested it.

The important part is not adding any UI mod on top of this one (aside from something very simple like avatars only).

One question Two questions. 1: The Reunion is going to update its translation and finalize it sometimes this year. Are you going to update the Italian one accordingly as well when the time comes?

2: In the past I created a mod that replaced the original scene.bin and kernel.bin files with my own modified versions. Would it be compatible with the Italian ReTranslation?

About a crash I'm having when trying to go over the W-Item/Multioggetto Materia.
After a bit of testing, I discovered that if I disable the Italian Retranslation's Texture Mod, the game no longer crashes and I can select the Multioggetto Materia.
Since disabling this mod messes up some of the dialogue boxes, for the time being I put the Materia on a character I'm not using and then re-enabled your mod.
This is the error log I got.
Do you know any other fix for this?

Hi Onizuka, I've confirmed the bug, which likely involves all the "Multi-" materia. I'll have to work on a fix for this.

EDIT: Found the culprit, as i suspected it's the custom function i wrote to change the ability names for these materia.

For everyone with direct access to the hext files here's a temporary fix: find my all.txt file.

Line 1481 of the file should read "30B803 = 5E 84 20 00". Comment the line so it won't be loaded by the game by adding a # before it, like so:

"#30B803 = 5E 84 20 00"

For 7th Heaven users i'm just uploading a new version of the IRO as i type, cause it's the safest solution. I'll update the iro again when the issue it's fixed.

Innanzitutto ciao. Non ho capito bene se devo commentare in inglese per forza oppure in italiano va bene lo stesso, nel caso modifico il messaggio.

Io ho installato una versione pulita di steam del gioco e successivamente ho installato la mod di Satsuki (SYWV5) NON tramite 7th Heaven, ho usato il suo installer. Successivamente ho installato la tua mod. Riscontro dei problemi con i font: si accavallano in alcune parti del menu e le finestre di dialogo dove devo scegliere un'opzione non vengono visualizzate correttamente (manca la seconda opzione). Non ho capito se ho sbagliato a installare qualcosa o devo fare qualche modifica.

Ciao Raiu, being this an international forum better stick to english.

Probably an update from Satsuki changed something again and that broke compatibility with my own patch. I guess I can't keep chasing that though, so i plan to switch to 7th Heaven for those that want to mix mods in a controlled environment, and i'll release my textures separately for those that want to mix mods manually.

Non posso continuare a inseguire ogni cambiamento del genere però, così conto di passare su 7th heaven. IMPORTANT UPDATE:


For those who were using the Italian AIO installer compatible with SYWV5, I recommend moving to 7th heaven + IROs. I listed the IROs from Satsuki you need to install in the first post. Let me know if there's any kind of problem with instructions or the files.

I used your mod since you started a lot of years ago on Rinoa forum and with the old way to mod I mixed yours with others but now I'm old and I prefer to use 7th heaven. Many of the mods I used are now in the
"[Tsunamods] Enhanced Stock UI" but with 7th Heaven seems impossible to mix with your mod, can you know a way? Maybe have I to use the exe and not the iro? Or can you think to make a version with options to choose to mix better with other mods?

I think the main issue with ESUI (and any other UI mod) is that changes to character size (the letters displayed on screen) are integral to the mod and used to determine the size of dialogue boxes, so compatibility out of the box with any UI mod is very unlikely.

On the bright side, I know that some are trying to make specifically ESUI work with my mod so your best bet is to wait for them.

It is possible, but right now as Caledor said it is a little more trickier than it should. As a critical update in 7th Heaven is needed in order for the process to become way easier we're waiting on that. In the meantime I'm trying to streamline the "tricky" process.

this works, BUT i can't get it work with echanced stock UI or kaktuar mod (want the ps1 buttons, especially for minigames) if i use those to overwrite confirm button with O during dialogues, game return in english

I told you this one is related to my pack and will be corrected in next update.
The ingame crash is probably related to the Italian retranslation but you can also try to reproduice it with as much as vanilla game and no patch to be sure it's not due to some memory patch ^^
