Short status update. I have finished Aerith (battle and field again). The field model of Red XIII is nearly (re)done, it needs only some minor impovements but looks very good right now.

Dosen't he have a nice smile?
The legs are more or less from Kela51's great version of Red XIII.
If I have done the final touch, I will create a battle model out of this. After this I will make a new release.

The only reason for downgrading is to use aali's OpenGl driver.  The driver is needed for texture replacements, like improved backgrounds or the menu overhaul.
ENB and sweet.fx works only with games which make use of Directx 9. OpenGl and other Directx versions are not supported.

It's a small addon for the battle models. I have updated Cloud's weapons to the default ones, except for the Bustersword I had done somthing different. Have fun with it: UMBattleAddon.7z

The best thing is to extract the char.lgp and battle.lgp with a lgp-tool. After the extraction you could open
the models with kimera. The good thing is if you open a model with kimera it loads all needed files and then you could safe them in a folder you want without having the problem to find out which part is needed.
For testing I recommend you to use the direct mode off aali's driver. This way you don't need to create a new lgp and overwrite your lgp files.
I'm very interested in the model, if it's good I would like to combine it in my mod Improved and added unshaded characters.
I try to make the models in a uniform looking way, but at the moment I try to make battle models out of the main characters.

I don't think Cloud is a weapon since the weapons were made to defend the planet against Jenova long ago, Not when Sephiroth goes to the crater.

The point is Cloud is a weapon the whole game along. He has the same body as a SOLDIER and SOLDIERs are human created weapons by Shin-Ra.
Possible that these ridicueless big swords are a hint on this, to show their true nature. Besides are bad ass Sephiroth and Meteor not enough for the planet to create a new WEAPON?

Well what would happen if the weapons don't interfere? Would Tifa surrives the gas chamber? Would Cloud and Tifa fall into the lifstream? Would Shin-Ra be destroyed?

Indeed, it looks like AC Tifa on the pic... , but sorry this model had the corrupt body part.
The model I have done is the normal one.


I have used parts from Grimmy's version and have adjusted them for a better result.

I have managed it ...

Tifa doesn't like me anymore. :'(

But the good news is that I could fix a corrupt bone part from the new battle model of Tifa I had worked on. That bad news is that it seems I have overwritten the Scorpio model by accident. But I'm lucky in the circumstances, the model still works as Scorpio. In other words it is actually quite easy to create a team member as an enemy (Cait Sith springs in to my mind...  :evil:).
Well, as you can see I have also finished Cloud and his buster sword, but could someone do something against these shadows,*PLEASE*?

It would be nice to use the new Buster sword APZ has created because there were some detailed lines on it. Is this the new Buster sword btw?

It is the buster sword designed by Mike. It has more detail instead the one from APZ. (I played around with the pic, thats why some details are gone.)
I ever forget to replace the weapon with the default ones. In the next update I will make the weapons as optinal and use the original ones.

In the FF7.exe. DLPB has done some very smart tools, which allow you to modify the text.
DLPB Tools 1.2

The games converter wouldn't be possible without them.

This time I had generated some battle models, too. First thing Cloud was only an experiment to see how it works out. I had preshade the field model and then replaced the battle model with the preshaded parts.
I had also tested how the model would look like if I connect the shoulderpad to the shoulderbone with ... well...  expected results. Some animation looks good with this and others not. I guess I will undo it in another version. With Barret I has gone a nother way, I replaced the parts and has done the preshading with an older version of Kimera, because the light option dosen't wok in the current version. The result looks much better and I think he is an improvement to the original.
Give me feedback if I should go on with it.

The New Cloud, huh?
I had this discussion once and I got to a very interesting clue... the new Cloud is the last WEAPON.
It is said that the planet has created the Weapon at a moment of great danger.
So it would make sense that the planet decided to cure Cloud and forged him as new Weapon to defend itself.
Also his last weapon is connected to him and his health.

Next question. Where does the children from RedXIII comes from? Wasn't he the last of his kind?

That's very unusual. You should try this out:
Download this file - blin65_1 (I have extracted it from an english flevel.lgp)
Download Makou Reaktor, if you not already have it.
Now you have to open Makou Reaktor and load your flevel.lgp. Search for blin65_1.
As next click on the file button and choose 'Import the current field' - search for the file you have downloaded.
Install everything and save the changes. Done.

I have started some tests to see if I could convert my field models to battle models and I guess it's very possible. I haven't noticed any problems with transparency.
But they may look a bit flat. Here is a comparison of Barret:


I will give you with my next release a demo version of Cloud ( and Zack  ;D, maybe Barret ...)
There are still three models that I want to do (then I have done the half of the Wall Market interior models).

If you have the driver installed you will see a folder named 'mods' in your ff7 folder. Open it and create a new folder. Name it what ever you want. Now open the new folder and and create again a new one, this time name it 'Menu'. In this folder you have to put your modified fonts as PNG. To simulate the pallettes the filename need an addon '_00'. Example: 'usfont_a_h_00.png', 'usfont_a_h_02.png', and so on (the number for the fonts rises for some reason in two steps, the last is '_14') . Back to the FF7 folder you must open ff7opengl.cfg and search for the line 'mod_path ='. Now add the name of the first folder you create in the mod folder. Save it. Start the game and you should see your edited fonts...
If you haven't installed Aali's driver yet, you should look at this: Games Converter. It is important to use this converter or the New to Old patch for the re-release or Aalis driver wouldn't work.
At last if you don't want to recreate the font you should look for the Avalache GUI ( find here:The Big List of Mods) or if the converter works for you (not sure which language you have) I recommend the Menu Overhaul (now in the Reunion mod).
One last thing the colors for the fonts are:
_00 - grey
_02 - blue
_04 - red
_06 - purple
_08 - green
_10 - cyan
_12 - yellow
_14 - white
