The official word is that Virtual PC does not support Direct3D accelleration (or rather, hardware 3D accelleration of any kind) at all.  Running in software rendering mode would be mandatory.

Bah... Oh well.. I bet this would solve the speed problem though.. And perhaps even more compatibility issues..

General Discussion / FF7 PC Issue - Too Fast - Savegame included

Just a thought, but has anyone tried to run FF7 or 8 through Virtual PC? That would put it in a 98 environment, and also may make it a bit slower.. Then again it would take some RAM to accomplish. This thought just came to me because we are using it in my classes to set up networks on single PCs.

I think it's cool, but insta-banning newbs is kinda tough.. Granted someone as moronic as the few people banned in the past is totally understandable, but everyone is a newb sometimes.. I hope you don't hold them responsible for initial mistakes, but I dont think that is your intent.

I also would be saddened to see the unrelated forum go.. I have surfed the entire forum, but I dont program much, and most of the FF discussions have been done..

Since I have grown a lot with everyone I like the unrelated section as it gives us all a chance to discuss life, politics, news, and random stuff..

I would agree that some of the threads are unnecessary, but still I would be sad to see it go..

Anyway, in the end Qhimm it's your call..

Oh hey and btw since I got my job you can expect that money I owe ya soon.. well after I pay my debts anyway.. ~_^

I think garden is kinda pre-alpha.. meaning there are lots of bugs.. there always seems to be a thread popping up about it as well.. But eh.. as cool as it would be if it worked i dont think Qhimm is going to touch it again.. i think he has stated that before.. Perhaps if he gets bored..  

When I wrote that post I was trying to explain that Garden is not really supported here. It is possible to compile because I did it awhile ago, (a long while ago) but there are MANY bugs in it.

Garden is offered basically as a program that is semi-functional, but if you lack knowledge of programming you might want to give up on it.

If someone can help you you will be lucky, and I dont mean for that to sound rude, so please don't take it that way.

The computer classes are fun because were actually doing something in them instead of "this is a mouse" type crap.

I was excited to be back my first day.. Even second day.. Now, I just want to go home .. LoL

There was a lot of sarcasm implied in my statement.. I apologize if it didnt carry over.

Does that mean that I don't have to obey laws, because there's no police in the whole world who's decent enough to arrest me? Ie. biblical references have somewhat limited use in real world.

My apologies, I think that was misunderstood, what I mean to say is that its not up to we the average people to make that judgement. But when a person is in a position specifically for the purpose of making those decisions (be they admin or mod online or an officer or goverment worker in the real world) it is their place to do so, which also comes with the fact that they should be treated more harshly if they are the ones at fault, because its their responsibility to see that others dont. All I mean is that its up to Qhimm and whomever he trusts to be a mod or admin to make these calls.

Uh.. I'm not a god.. I'm not a judge.. Most of the people of the internet arent.. (But i swear i have met god in a few chatrooms)

The without sin statement about casting stones can be used anywhere..

There are just so many flaws with it I'm having a hard time picking one out.. That and its 9.30 am I'm tired.. And just really dont care anymore..

I think weve all lost our temper at one time or another. No, it doesnt make it right, but on the other hand, he was banned for this one thing, and Qhimm made the decision to reduce that ban to a warning, and I dont see that as innappropriate.

I was just asking because of what people said earlier i was confused when he came back.. I dont see unbanning him as being innappropriate, but I dont remember saying that I did.. and as jari pointed out .. Its not a democracy

@Golbez - If she tries to give you flowers to get back with her dont take them.

Anyway, yes hearing horrible news is a great excuse to fly off the handle and lash out at those around you..

In fact flaming on a forum, and trying to raise the counter on a site after you are banned from it are great signs of maturity..

This is exactly what you did, and here is an analogy..

You beat the shit out of your wife because you haven't had a good week, and just found out horrible news. Does buying her flowers make it all better?

This is Qhimm's site. This is not a democracy. It is run how he wants it to be. If you don't like how this site is operated you have an option, and actually it's a pretty easy option. Do you know what it is? It's called: DONT COME HERE ANYMORE!!!

This is how EVERY web page works out there.. Someone owns the site and takes care of it.. People visit and join and form a community.. The rules havent changed since the whole time I have been here, and Qhimm did what he had to do.. Rubicant was given several chances.. And on any forum if you choose not to follow the rules you dont even need to be warned it can be just snap BAN..

I don't like math much, but let me show you some math maybe it will help you understand.

This stunt was the LAMEST thing I have ever seen come through this site, and I was honestly taken aback at first. I really thought that Rubicant and Mofokubik were above something as childish as this.. Really, I chalk this right up there with Joey's escapades, but atleast Joey wasn't this stupid.

LoL yeah anyway.. This is kinda true for anything almost.. Usually when you watch a video or whatever you can play music to it and your mind will piece it together even if it doesnt always blend in.. Its quite odd really.. Parts you know dont fit as well as other parts, but for the most part it will tend to blend.. Why? Well I dont know why.. Just something i have noticed..

And yeah .. There have been a few songs that have brought tears to my eyes, but i would venture a guess that no one has ever heard of the band that most recently brought tears to my eyes..

Perhaps it would be viewed as comedic if you hadn't been here for 4 years and enjoyed the way this didnt happen in those 4 years..

We are a small community.. These snipes are detracting from it and taking threads off topic.. Just like my explaining this to you is also keeping a thread off topic..

I dont find it amusing.. I found Joey bashing amusing, but that usually stayed in its own thread where he proclaimed he was a god usually.

I know they are cheap.. Thats not the reason i didnt get one.. I just never really got into hand held gaming devices.. I wouldnt use it enough.. Though it would have been nice when i was bored and stuck @ school waiting for another class.. But people would always talk to me.. So i probably couldnt get much gaming done either.. LoL Plus i would look all anti-social.. And i look anti-social enough as it is.. ~_^
