I'll be making people.bin into a text file for R06c and abolishing that file.
Great news. People.bin editor works but is terrible to use

102
I'm trying to port your translation for R06 just for me and I've found missing texture translation in data\cd\cr_us.lgp (I've got the italian file and should be from sadnes) and disc_us.lgp (this one should be not used right?).

With this program http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=16431.0 I've also edited cr_us.lgp\people.bin (end credits staff) to add italian localization credits (not already tested), just for fun. Would you like to try it and add in your release? Here it is the download link https://www.mediafire.com/file/xo7bp5tgqgsngzo/people-itaedit.bin/file (rename people-itaedit.bin in people.bin)

Grandissimo.
One suggestion:
In battle\magic.lgp\name_1.tex there are the planet's name of Sephirot's Supernova (sadnes translated it)

Grandissimo

The project is still going, great.
I'm still working in a simple italian translation port for the steam version (from sadnes psx) but i've got problem in real life and editing the image file

Few minutes of game and I'm totally captured from the Midgar world, good job Caledor.

May I ask if the graphical "Miss" in combat will be translated in "Mancato"? I remember in the italian scene of modding someone got already this to work.

Cheers,
Kuraudo.

The sadnes version Is translated, but with a terribile color (it appear white with grey dot). I've tried to change but always got problem with palette

But if I'm not wrong the latest steam edition should be already patched

Don't say that! It is still possible to annoy me many many more times :p
Here's an updated link.

However, Italian is actually a language for which there already is a translation (of the current version of AF). TheFF8Fan was able to translate everything all by himself, and even added a couple of scripted sequences.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWWxD4WKBdA (Check out his profile for the parts after this.)

Ah ah ah...thank you
Didn't know about TheFF8Fan and his works... anyway he hasn't released his mod but with the video a lot time of work is saved ;)

2) You need to add custom translated texts in the "Environment" -> "Texts" panel. Look at the texts already in place for the text format (the dialog conventions may also differ from one language to the other, like the english dialogs using “” and a space at each new line). The added texts which are related to Beatrix can be found in the following file (append ".txt" to the URL). Since it contains spoilers of my mod, don't dare to read it for non-translation puprose ! Else, I'll get to come to your house and remove your memories of this file 'manually' from your head.

I think this is last time I annoy you (lol). There is a mirror for this file (I would like to translate in italian "Beatrix mod"). With or without .txt ad the end of the link the file is missing

About the "Spells" panel: yes, the Magic Swords are in there as well, but they are spread around. Most of them are next to Dagger's summons and Flare/Doomsday are at the end of the list.

About the "Localization" field, yes I noticed that. As strange as it appears, it's not a bug from HW but that's how the latest Steam version texts are (they were correctly set in the previous Steam versions). Don't bother.

wow.. you're right. I didn't notice at all. Changed in english and I easly found. Thank you very much for you'ra patience.

Thanks usb :)
Yeah, I thought that they fixed that bug, but apparently not. It doesn't concern only Italian but also French and Spanish. The bug lies in the CIL method "BattleHUD::SetBattleCommandTitle" but it's a bit tricky to fix it there with HW.

What you can do though is bypass the bug: go to the "Interface" panel, select the "Battle Spell Naming" field and add 13 entries to it (right-click -> Add), then write the proper full names ("Colpo Fire" etc...). Finally, go to the "Party -> Spells" panel and change the casting names of the magic swords spells to the entries that you just added.
It's a bit dirty as a fix, but it works. You should also translate the names in the "Interface" panel if you want it to work for all the languages (I think the game would crash in non-italian language otherwise).

For info, you can have up to 62 custom spell names in that interface field.

thank you for your reply... I'll try as soon as possible.

update:
change the casting names of the magic swords spells to the entries that you just added
under spells panel there are only the basic magic and not the magic swords (they are under special). if i change the vivi magic when Vivi cast Fire magic it will be shown as Colpo Fire but the magic sword is still wrong

For the "Interface" panel, in localization entry, there is this strange behavior (if it is supposed to be ok it can be ignored):
Select italian language > german text
Select spanish language > italian text
Select german language > spanish text
Select french language > french text
In hades 0.39b

First of all thank you for this amazing tool.
I am here to ask some help for a very little problem that has FF9 italian steam version: during a battle, when you choose to use magic sword ability (the Steiner+Vivi combo  :)), the text that appears in the top of the screen with the ability name has the words swapped. Here an example:
You choose Firaga Sword (in italian is "Colpo Firaga" and in hades workshop is named perfectly), in the top screen appears as "Firaga Colpo" (maybe use english order with italian text?)

My question is: is it possible to fix with hades workshop or with some manual edit?

Se avete bisogno di una mano fatemi sapere.

Grazie mille! Neanche io sapevo parlassi italiano  ;D lol

For non italian: Thank you! I didn't know you speak italian

Hi usb.

I tried to send you a private message but i couldn't (you might want to check your settings) so i hope to reach you through this.
I'm an italian modder too and i've tried for the past few years to fully retranslate FF7 using DLPB's Beacause. You can easily find your my project searching for "caledor ff7" on google. The only thing left to do for me is to translate dialogues so yeah, i've already adjusted every window that required a fix and among them there was the shop menu one. Please reach out to me, either through PM here or trough my project page.

Thank you very much. I've sent you a mail and updated the profile.

Hi everyone.
I'm trying to update the first (and only) italian translation released for PC with the updated one for PSX released by an italian translator group. I've already translated every text file with TS but now there is a problem: the space for menu buy/sell/exit (line 573 in the 0_ff7.txt).
If I try to translate in italian it looks weird with the text going over the background box and the hand pointer that doesn't point at the beginnig of the  italian word but at the same place where should be in english.
I've already posted in TS thread but it's not a tool problem so i've started here a new thread.

Someone knows how to fix?
I've see that the french retranslation (didn't check original french version) made this menu in vertical (and not in horizontal) and this should resolve the problem but i don't know how to do.
With the search button I didn't find an answer.
Thanks in advance.

That's not relevant to this tool.  It's not a fault with this tool.

Thank you for your answer. Maybe starting a new thred should be more appropriate
