They periodically talk about the FF7 remake once every few years, telling pretty much the same stuff all the times, about how it'd be impossible to replicate, or hard, or time/money consuming. So where's the news exactly? It's a simple strategy to make people talk about them; just ignore the f*ckers, they don't deserve any attention for spreading nonsense about vaporware. Maybe they will stop someday (one can only dream).

Portal 2 has a story? :P
Yes, and it kicks ass.

This was already posted a long time ago and in short "IT SUCKS".

You're probably missing the VS2010 runtimes on your system. Grab them from this link and try running armips again.

30
Which makes this pretty much useless for FFVII. ;)

Troubleshooting / Re: hacking psn ff7
« on: 2012-02-10 01:00:29 »
I don't even get why one would do that. Hacking the original is just the same thing, no more, no less. It's simply an emulated PlayStation game.

32
Always noticed the similarities, but I never thought of them as a reference to the regular black mages.

33
Hopefully this is fake.

Terrible for oh so many reasons.

I will ignore people from now on.
Same for me, every single request on how to make patches for other regions will be ignored. I have enough of people who don't even get how assembly hacks work and want to create patches out of their magical butts. Plus, if moderators could please lock this topic forever I'd appreciate, there isn't really anything else to be stated here.

Enough of people not reading the goddamn readme. The thing is there for a f*cking reason, even with documentation and explanations. If you can't understand this simple concept then you won't be able to create a patch for it, EVER.

What I need to find out is where the menus text are stored(which file) so I can hex edit it.
If with menus you mean the actual options showing in the main menu, it's just under the MENU folder inside MNU files. But if you actually mean the system strings such as spell names, it's all inside KERNEL.BIN. Check the wiki for reference.

Also are there any table files available in .txt format anywhere?
Again, check the wiki, the full encoding is there.

  • バジガンディ  Bajighandi.  Unlikely.  Unknown.  Ghandi seems fine?
Basilisk Gandhi, where Gandhi is this indian dish (the yellow/brown one):

It's just a Basilisk colored like the dish itself, nothing really related to Mahatma Gandhi.

Finally some original portraits. It was about time! Thumbs up.

Please try to keep the image macros to Completely Unrelated. ~Covarr

The japanese version resizes the box when the string is too big to fit. This is what the original box looks like:

We might just ignore it.

A game we never really needed in the first place. :-X

http://wiki.qhimm.com/FF7/Kernel/Low_level_libraries#BIN-GZIP_Type_Archives
Next time, please use the search bar here or the one in wiki.

No idea how that works in Hack7, but there's an option just for it. I'm guessing it's for de/compressing WINDOW.BIN directly.

44
It's just a simple text file... ???

45
Edit TableAscii.xml and include those characters.

46
The X format is a simple gzip file containing overlay code and with an 8 byte header. The first 4 bytes are used for decompression size, the last 4 indicate the decompression size+bss segment (which is an area used for zero-initialized values, so it's just a bunch of zeroes). Cut those 8 bytes, rename .x to .gz and decompress. When recompressing add again those 8 bytes using identical values and it will work.

As for locating the HP limit value: debugger, debugger, debugger.

47
The standard kit is supposed to be: LZSS and GZip compressors, armips (for assembly changes), and CDMage (for file replacement).

48
Funny how the original Supernova doesn't have this issues. It can even be used as a regular magic or Limit.

49
The system looks quite similar to Xenogears.
It does because it's the same engine expanded with assets and pieces of code from Final Fantasy VIII. Even the font rendering system is pretty much the same as in Xenogears, but sort of improved.

That's the whole point of my message. Six months and not even a single reply. It's almost as "If it's not FFVII, screw this stuff!". :(
