It would be cool but I just used savegame editor to set it back to 40:00 it was easy with no hassle, so that maybe the quick easy solution. :-)

I am trying to run only the psx music mod with this, not working at all.  Perhaps it is because I own both versions 1998 and 2013steam and have switched between the two on this PC in the past.
My problem is after installing this on 1998 version followed instructions to the T, upgrade game to v1.02, run the ffnx.reg file, no logo, no aali driver, no nothing happens, when I start the game.  Tried both versions listed here https://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=19967.0/  newest 1.8.12, 1.7.x, neither work,

made a topic here already no one replied =(  https://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=21630.0

how am I supposed to set this to be the graphics driver?  Stock 1.02 has less or none options.  Only other ff7config.exe is from aali old driver 0.7.11b.  Probably something is incorrect in the registry yet I installed to c:\games\final fantasy vii\ as instructed.

I am not using 7H or any other mods.

also noticed in your cfg file that there is no 'transparent dialog boxes' setting as in aali driver which was awesome, is it not possible with ffnx?

anyway I am struggling with this seem to need some help, but atm switched back to 2013steam version, as music, lack of controller support, screenshot issues, and occasional crashing exe upon alt-tab were bothering me.  I hope this forum is not totally DEAD

This is the best version for modding, for sure

Troubleshooting / FFNx not working at all
« on: 2023-11-21 23:34:34 »
I installed latest version to the T following exact instruction it just does not work at all.  Im guessing it needs the 7th heaven program.

I was using Aali's custom graphics driver "ff7_opengl-0.7.11b.zip" and it works great because it includes a modified ff7Config.exe, but then tried "ff7_opengl-0.8.1b.zip" and it has the same issue as FFNx it is a reg entry, with no configuration utility to select the new options.

I'm trying only to change the music with FFNx to the original sound from PS1 music found here:  https://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=19967.0/

thanks for any help

perhaps I need to try earlier FFNx version and it will have included a modded ff7Config.exe

OK the reg key is found HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Square Soft, Inc.\
I had changed drive letters.  Under DATA DRIVE had to change path.  Working now, still need put cd in I think, but at least it's working.
Would still like to play without cd's.

I guess there is way to copy movies to your HDD and change that reg key, but why do that if you still have to put cd in.

Look for
Code: [Select]

00 6b d2 46 89 55 fc 8b

and change the 46h to the multiplier you want; there is another 46h slightly lower down which you should probably change as well.

Unfortunately, I don't have my PSX discs with me, so I can't find where they are in that version; unless someone here can help you, you'll just have to look for them by searching the individual files.
--------------------------

I confirmed that this works to change the master materia modifier (price), on only the FF7 1998 version, other versions you cant find this string.
I confirmed as I think did the OP of this, using hex file compare, after changing it with whitechoco.

If whitechoco is working correctly the modifier should say 70 after you load the exe, before any modification.

Ok figured it out yes the program has to crash first time, second have to copy ff7_en.exe and rename copy to ff7.exe then change master materia multiplier from 210 to #X, now to test and see if it actually worked, must rename back the exe.

It seems I cannot edit the materia "price for master" in shops with this tool.

Can anyone recommend a tool that can do that?  Thank you  :)

Starting Steam may help it work possibly I'm not sure why it now worked and not before  :-\  I guess is working fine now on ff7.exe

I guess this does not like the steam version but that is what I have.  I guess I need the old version of the game exe?

I guess I will have to install old version FF7 on another computer and then try whitechoco on that.

What I am trying to do is change materia sell prices and sell prices thru AP.  Maybe another tool can do it.  Any help or suggestions on how to do this?  Thank you! :)

Gameplay / Final fantasy X - Punishment mod (ps2)
« on: 2017-08-30 05:26:30 »
The mod was hosted on insanedifficulty.com, which seems to be down, permanently  :-[ ... that really sucks big time...

I just learned through google there was a Final fantasy X International Punishment Mod, it was at version 1.5, well if some awesome person has this and could upload it on here that would be awesome because I would love to try it.  The file name is FFXintPv1.5.7z

I am using International Japanese Voice, I hope it will work for that

I have the Final Fantasy X (USA)(non-international) punishment mod v1.7 and I will upload it to this thread soon.  I'd use that, but I can't stand the english voices in the game.

Thanks

Will this work with FFX International Japanese Voice?

Could someone upload the 1.5 version if possible.  Because insanedifficulty.com is down.  Thanks

Gameplay / Re: FF8 more than 100 cards?
« on: 2017-05-18 13:38:28 »
so um to answer my own question, I was confused with ff9.  it appears in ff8 you can have 99 or 100 of EACH card which means you can hold a massive amount of cards.  I guess they get auto discarded after that probably

Gameplay / FF8 Difficulty mod by OHX (PC-steem)
« on: 2017-04-16 14:21:04 »
Here is a mod I have just started working on...  its simply harder but not by any means super difficult, as that ruins the fun of the game, and also this game is rediculous easy as it is...

This is my 3rd playthru ever and its just too easy so I decided to try and make this mod...

I was using hard.dll mod and that is pretty good but I found myself just summon gf every time since your weapon damage is reduced by 50%, also, it's kind of irritating to launch

so, here is the list of changes from vanilla game.

-char xp req to lvl +60%
-GF xp req to lvl +100%
-junction magic bonuses -50%
-GF ability removed, Card Mod
-GF ability removed, Boost (all), its just an exploit with turbo controllers, but you can still buy the item in shop to learn boost
-GF Siren and Brothers modified slightly.  make sure to check them for new abilities at lv 10,15,20
-GF ability removed, xxx bonus (all), replaced with xxx +60% @ GF lvl 50.  to compensate for this...
-male char strength increased in concave curve (only effective at later levels), +25% by lvl 100
-edea and selphie magic increased in even curve, +15% and +7% respectively

work in progress
hope you enjoy =)

installing - go to final fantasy viii\data\lang-en\ directory. back up main.fs, main.fi, and main.fl.  i like to use 7zip, winrar, or winzip to do this just put them in an archive.  Then extract this mod archive files and drag them over to said directory and overwrite.  make sure you backed up the original files before overwrite!

will post the changelog file soon... it will explain the exact changes

special thanks to the awesome Doomtrain editor

This is awesome!  Nice work!

Gameplay / FF8 more than 100 cards?
« on: 2017-04-10 06:59:53 »
I would like to get more than 100 cards, there seems to be no mod for this?

That leads me to believe it is probably not possible, likely because of the limited save size of the original playstation game?

It's not a big thing, but was kind of annoying in original game near the end.  Where you can only have 100 cards so if you want full set you can only have 1 of each.

have pc steam version.  thanks

if you alt-tab out of the game and check the command window it should say hard.dll loaded...

So, when using the instructions hextlaunch creates a folder "newfolder1" and then hard.dll does not work (unless you move it)...

instead of going thru the steps, just download this file  below and extract to root game dir... super easy...

launch game with ff8_hard.exe
