- Where did the "chibi" mod come from, and what does it do?  I don't recognize it, and it didn't turn up with a quick'n'dirty search on Nexus, so I'm not sure if it's in the correct position as far as load order goes, or if it could be related to your troubles.

chibi is what the NinoStyle field models pack is called, or at least that's what mine was called.

Releases / Re: [FF7PC-98/Steam] New Threat Mod (v1.5)
« on: 2019-08-18 10:57:48 »
Thanks very much! I guess that makes sense as Hyper Jump is much more powerful. Now I know my next game plan. Too bad my Cid is tanky as "#¤% so farming limit uses is hard. Cover spam and lower Def Eq. should do it!

I've always manipulated an enemy (cactuar in vanilla) and inflicted mini on the character that I'm farming uses for. As long as you have fury and mini on and have just over 1000HP it shouldn't take too long to farm uses since you won't be killing enemies with the LBs.

For lv.3 limits it works best to use Fury Brand though imo.

LordUrQuan helped me quite succinctly with the same error:

Code:5 errors are generally resolved by setting the "Run in 640x480" compatibility flag on whichever ff7.exe you're loading.

is your library path not set up wrong? It should be mods\7th Heaven , not mods/7th Heaven.

Would that even make a difference for 7H?

5
Code:5 errors are generally resolved by setting the "Run in 640x480" compatibility flag on whichever ff7.exe you're loading.

Worked a treat that. Thanks.

I'll try and keep the issues to a minimum from now.

I haven’t played NT yet, but I believe GS is a boss that will follow you throughout the game. I think if you try to grab the potion behind Jessie after freeing her, it’s a trap with a busted up GS.

Very possible that it's a bug with the Jessie Mod. That's getting deactivated then.

Any ideas on the failure to launch? You said you used a version of 1.56 from 2017 and had no issues so is there a way I could get a link for that please?

7
I couldn't get VGMStream to work at all. Plugin was in the right folder and there were files located where they should have been but every time I selected the plugin using Aali's driver it would switch back to 'none' when I brought the window up again.

So I uninstalled everything and cleaned the registry as well as ran CCleaner. All good.

Reinstalled FFVII from Steam.
Followed the step-by-step to a T using the 1.56 version of 7H in the FAQ.
Installed mods with the load order I listed above, missing out the Remako one listed and shifted things around otherwise for preference.
Loaded the game with no issues whatsoever. Music was working, mods seemed to be working AFAIK.

Beat Guard Scorpion and headed round to leave the reactor and I encounter another guard scorpion that for some reason does 7k damage to me for whatever reason. I had a similar bug on an earlier botched install that made what I assume was a New Threat encounter pop up on my way down the steps after the lift in reactor 1.

I searched and found this:

Your lookup tables in the scene.bin are messed up. You should clean your registry and start fresh. Check the FAQ thread on how to start over with a fresh install.

so I understand what the problem is there, but on two installs in a row? I'm 100% sure I did that bit right. I'll try it in a VM if it doesn't work this time.

That's not a huge issue if it's only the Scorpion that is messed up. I can just use the mod to skip the encs for a bit. Problem is now I can't load the game again because every time I do I get the same
Code: [Select]
System.ApplicationException: STATUS_INTERNAL_ERROR:unknown error in injected assembler code. (Code 5) that I had previously which ended in a filepath that links to whoever made the revisions computer.

As you can see I've tried to stick to the FAQ load order where possible but replaced with other mods I prefer in place. I've tried shifting things about and can't make any use of it.

I assumed strife was the one who made the revision for whatever reason but obviously that was pretty stupid. Will that make this rev useless or is this something I can point elsewhere?

9
Absolutely. I got it to work eventually, and managed to get several mods installed and sorted in what I think is a suitable load order.

Now I'm having the issue where I can't select VGMStream in Aali's driver settings without it reverting back to 'none'.

2 questions:

1)is strife Spanish?

2)does the version of 7H he uploaded still carry info from his/her computer? There is an error on Launch Game now that ends in

Uhmm.. I'm not sure what you mean by that exactly.. can I just delete everything and follow that faq now? Sorry, I'm kinda new to all this, thank you for your help.

The download link for 7H in the FAQ has been rolled back to an earlier version, so delete everything to do with 7H(that isn't mods themselves) and follow the FAQ again with the earlier version of 7H.

Thank you, I no longer get an error from downloading, but I did get this error when activating a mod from the catalogue:

Yesterday, from the link on the main thread.

I'm getting the same issues as others, and I enabled FusionLog to see if it would help diagnose; I can post the logs here but there's 96KB worth of them to go through.

Would it be easiest to wait for a new release?

For clarity, this is the error I'm getting:

If you're still wondering where the ceiling is I've(very sloppily) marked it out on this picture

And if that's not good enough I put my MS Paint skills to the maximum setting and churned out this

Now is that helpful of me, or what?

What I mean is: you got the ceiling right, as far as I can tell. Your work looks excellent so far.

can i see? criticism and stuff , ye know

I really hate showing unfinished work. It's not that I don't like criticism, I thrive on it, but I just prefer it when some can say "that nose is all wrong!" to "maybe you could add some of this to there to do this before you do this". That just throws me off.

When I've actually finished the body(untextured) I'll post it. I've seen your work so I know it would be helpful.

There is no hard limit, but people normally keep it around 3-5k

Great. I just finished the head and it has ~2600...back to the drawing board :)

Biggs looks great so far Blitz! I see you decided to stick with the hair flick (I like it better, too) than to use:

The only other thing I can spot is his t-shirt should be more sage coloured than the emerald of his trousers.

I'll have a go at Jessie then, but like I said it may take a while due to work.

EDIT:

I assume I have to work from this:

I'm not sure if it's official concept art, but I like it anyway.

Also, is there a poly limit I should be aware of?

18
I did know, but thanks for replying. Obviously that project is to make the entire game a sleeker read in English, but I thought maybe since it was just minor; like changing "This guy are sick" and "Touph Ring" it could go in the main game.

Is the to do list up to date? I'll probably be able to throw a Jessie and Biggs model together if needed. It might take a few months because of the hours I'm working atm, but they'll get done :)

20
Although I'm not entirely sure if this even counts as a suggestion for TA(given it's nature) but someone should change the dialog when taking over the red Shinra Sub. IIRC it says something like "An uncinditional surrender, eh?" and then you get two options that make it seem as though you're controlling the Shinra commander, like "Ok, surrender" and "Don't count on it". I know it's not much, but it does seem quite odd.

Releases / Re: FF7Music Installer
« on: 2012-02-23 01:49:43 »
EDIT: I'm so nub for posting this in the first place, read the bottom edit to see if you are amused :).

First of all, massive props to the people involved in this, it's brilliant. I am however, like a few people are, encountering problems

So I installed FF7Music (full) and all was working fine, albeit a wee bit delayed. All of a sudden, specifically at Holzoff's cabin, the music stops altogether!

I've tried reinstalling, using the PSFs, checking all my settings(FF7Music, Aali's driver) and as far as I'm aware nothing seems to have changed.

I know Aali's driver is configured because I'm also using the Avalanche 2D Overhaul mod, and have done since before installing FF7Music.

As you can see I also fought some battles to see if that would kick-start the music like it did for some others.

Thanks if you took the time to read this.

EDIT

I'm playing on my laptop. plugging into my TV via HDMI and for some reason my TV speakers automatically mute FF7Music, but not FF7, hence the reason why sound was working but music wasn't.

Well I didn't mean to sound like a tosser, but I see your point. As soon as I posted that I went and found some other tools and stuff that lurky had done, alas I had no idea.

Also, just an idea, is it already possible to extract a particular file if you know it's name via come command?

First of all, did you get aali's permission to mess around with his stuff? Not sure if he cares but you should always ask.

Secondly, this may be pretty useful, cheers.

Thirdly, I scanned them for anyone who cares:

I personally would love to see the Chocobo minigame improved. As it's already 3D could the models be taken and simply enhanced?

Since I'm new to the whole 'ripping things from games' malarky it would be great if I could be pointed towards the Chocobo model and I'll try my hand at making a better one.

Hi Seizmik,

window_size_x = 640  or  1280
window_size_y = 480  or    960

mod_path = avalanche  <== look at the ./mods folder
                                                          e.g. ./mods/avalanche

I don't know why I haven't done this...thanks!

#music_plugin = plugins/ff7music.fgp  remove the # when
                                                              you have FF7Music
                                                              installed

I don't have it installed yet, but I'd forgotten how crappy the MIDI's sound :)
use_shaders = no

fancy_transparency = off   maybe
compress_textures  = no   try this also

# Disable Error Notifications   add these lines at the bottom
disable_popup = on

Will do. Already tried compress textures, but nothing changed.

What graphics card are you using ?

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200

Turn off post processing.

# post-processing shader, used to apply fullscreen effects
post_source = shaders/bloom2.post
enable_postprocessing = no

Your Avalanche installation is broken.

That about sums it up, cheers  :-D

I'll try all of this, but I assume it's just Avalanche; I'll take it over there if more problems ensue. Thanks a lot for the help!
