Much appreciated, thanks.

I'm using this trainer with Bootleg, but can't seem to get constant random battles working, I'm probably missing something obvious, but know the trainer is working (Q3 is highlighted in red) and I can teleport around the world.  I've tried this in multiple locations...bit confused.   :-\

Ah, yes the changes are still there when I close Wallmarket and reload, however they disappear once I load FF7 and return.  A search result showed 29 Kernel folders within \FinalFantasyVII\data...

In all honesty I wanted to use this to alter the Buster Sword to be usable throughout the campaign, and since using Wallmarket to read what another mod has already changed am happy with it as it is.  So while I'd appreciate learning how to use Wallmarket, if this starts an impending headache for yourself, likely isn't worth it for the changes I might make.  ;)

Yeah, I don't mind the grinding - it's just the quantity of it that needs to be done.  I was level 30 at the time.

*Goes back to grinding*.

Hi Folks,

Just a newbie question - I am using File > "CreateKernel.bin" to save changes, is this correct?  As no changes are being saved, have also tried "Create Kernel and Kernel2.bin".

I've installed Netframework 4.5, visual basic power pack (trying to run from Windows\System32 as the readme suggests results in it not loading and displaying the error "This application cannot be started.  But does load from the desktop.

I've ensured administrator privileges and unchecked read only on everything.  FF7 installed in C:Games\FF7.  This is the latest Bootleg version though.

Advice greatly appreciated.

Just wanted to offer some constructive feedback on the hardcore mod installed through bootleg.  In the Shinra building, first act, just escaped from the detention cells with the mako monsters on the loose and a trail of blood to follow.

There's a random encounter with a worm and a bug thing - the worm 'needles' 2 party members off the screen, and the bug casts 'roulette' instantly KO'ing the third before my character round even begins.  This is with ATB set to wait, and my cursor hovering over the enemy - meaning they get those actions before any in my party could ever respond.
So this encounter is essentially harder than Ruby weapon within the first act of the game.

The above happened 3 times in a row, on the 4th the bug made a different attack and party survived.  Don't want to sound negative - but I don't see meta gaming through multiple trial and error as 'hard' as it's either meta-gaming or luck, not strategy and skill.

I would have uninstalled the mod if I hadn't seen that 4th scenario.  It's like the GM of a tabletop RPG just randomly rolling a 3-sided die and saying "If I roll 1 the whole party just dies".

Different gaming tastes I suppose.

I just did one final install exactly as specified but with the same result, so after about a week think I've gone as far as I can with this and am just gonna play the game.  Thanks again and thumbs up to modders for the improvements.

Nope, nothing - well I get the 3 publisher videos (using 2012 release installed on C:FF7) and then the same black screen.  The game is running as I can click OK, get to loading screen but can only see the blue bar background of each load slot.

I noticed when selecting "shaders/ComplexMultiShader420.post" under the plugins tab it disables Max Lights - 12 under system, so tried that on/off but no luck.  Also checked everything is set to administrator privileges.

I think the shader on this video card is 5.0, but don't know if that's good or bad regarding this.  Thanks for the reply.

Graphical / FF7 Bootleg HDR Shaders ATI 5870

Hi Folks,

I've spent the past weekend trying to track why Bootleg doesn't allow FF7 to load while the shader box is ticked.  The improvements on this game were so great that I didn't notice it at first, but I can only get it to run with the shader box unchecked - when it is ticked/checked, the game will show a black screen or a few red triangles and freeze in that state.  I have tried:

With my original CD installation and the latest 2012 release.

Ensuring Ali's custom driver is set up correctly with sound card checked.

Both HDR and Complex HDR configurations with and without vsync, aspect ratio and specific refresh rate assigned.
Also with internal resolution set to screen resolution and unchecked.

With all of the drop down options for each of the above Post processing shader options.

With crossfire on and off.  And with all of my desktop graphic cards options forced and set to "let application decide" and forced.

So am now at my wits end - just to ensure we're on the same page: I'm assuming to get "shading" I need to click the red HDR or the pink button and then have  the shaders box checked on the front/main menu?  As mentioned unchecking this allows the game to run and it looks awesome anyway.  Just wondering if it could look even more so...thanks for reading.
