Bootleg Questions / Re: [Tutorial] Tifa's Bootleg
« on: 2013-03-03 16:17:01 »
I might presume the most reliable solution would be playing from untampered save prior obtaining Yuffie conventionally as it may be puzzling when the real Wutai-situation-flag really happens. Maybe at the moment of obtaining Tiny Bronco.

@maergoth
This sounds like you're using custom Yuffie battle model in this one that is not fully supported... most presumably from Kula Wende distribution. If you were able to get the model in you should be able to get it out too. And that will hopefully resolve the issue.

@Superfluous
Not sure if heavy trolling but you're descripting absolutely intended behavior of the game which is (as you should know) not controlled by mouse in any way. Use numpad.

3
The idea is simple... some of them really don't work... let this be notified as reported bug. Try another one, most of them work.

4
OK now keep starting the game using Bootloader or manually run FF7Music\FF7Music.exe before actually running the game.

5
Run FF7Config.exe and set your sound output

Bootleg Questions / Re: [Tutorial] Tifa's Bootleg
« on: 2013-02-24 14:24:30 »
In Bootloader Configuration try to switch the plugin to Safe on Plugins tab - plugins/ffmpeg_movies_compatibility.fgp - it helped me with the same issue.

7
Thanks for heads up Covarr, the downtime went unnoticed for me.

Anyway if someone could give me a hand please... My minigames run too fast - especially G-Bike. I have Minigame Limiter checked in Bootloader so it seems this is not getting through for some reason. On my Graphic drivers VSync is OFF, unless application specify otherwise and in Bootloader VSync is ON. Still the bike is uncontrollably speedy. I can reduce the speed forcefully by downgrading refresh rate to 30 in bootloader (that is the nearest lower value after 60 that is acceptable in fullscreen) but in this case the whole gameplay is rather choppy, something like 15 fps. Any tips?

8
Did one-month of posts actually go missing? I can't seem to find my question about Condor minigame graphics nor the answer.

Bootleg Questions / Re: [FAQ] Tifa's Package
« on: 2013-01-10 00:55:44 »
YEEEEEEEEY.. this is so much the best that can be! Especially appreciating all the previews and the torrent file. Kudos!

10
I wanted to say thanks for the tip Pitbrat about AV but it was not the casue, AV was disabled in the first place... the mistake was on my side as my audio files had date tampered and that apparently was the cause.. patch failed to recognise audio files.

Apart from that I really wanted to thank you for this amazing piece of work...you surely became a little god for helping thousands of users remake their ff7 in few easy steps.

I have tried to use User Custom models in process of installation and I apparently failed at this attempt.. here's my progress:
Mods\BootlegCustomModels\Battle\Battle.lgp\ <- here I've put some of my battle model files
Mods\BootlegCustomModels\Field\Char.lgp\ <- here I've put some of my filed model files
Mods\ is the location of BFE.exe, Bootleg.exe and all downloaded mods in original file form.
I've ticked the option Install User Models From Custom Folders

Yet in the final process my files were apparently omitted as they do not show up in game. Did I go somewhere wrong? Of course I did.. but where?

11
Pardon me to bump and burst but I got no reply of any manner at all while I am convinced my report was quite descriptive... I understand that I may not be so reputative now as I've not shown up for years since I started all this mod compilation idea on Qhimm but any respectful reply would be very kind for any user asking...

One more try:

1. Installed FF7 from original disc to D:\Final Fantasy VII
2. Extracted Bootleg 40 to D:\Bootleg\Mods along with all downloaded mods
3. Ran BFE.exe and set up my choices, then ran Bootleg
4. After completing the whole process this is from my D:\Final Fantasy VII\data\sound\BootlegSFX_log.txt

[01/07/2013 00:31:41] Error      Patch failed. (1004)

I've read about this step in description...

Improved SFX, by ArmorVil
FILES: new sfx.rar, new sfx.rar, EditedSFX.rar, 139 beta.rar
NOTE: Two archives share the name 'new sfx.rar' but contain different sounds. Be careful not to replace one with the other.
TOOL: Cosmo
NOTE: Replace selected sound effects using Cosmo
NOTE: One of the sound files in Armorvil's 'new sfx.rar' is in the wrong format for Cosmo to load: '254-change clothes.wav' fails on replace.
WARNING: Do not use the sound 438-applause.wav because the game crashes during the theater scene in the Golden Saucer.
WARNING: Do not use the sound 217-snoring.wav because the game crashes when entering the cave with the sleeping man.
Extract files from ArmorVil's 'new sfx.rar' into the folder C:\temp\sfx\
Extract files from ae2011's 'new sfx.rar' into the folder C:\temp\sfx\
Extract files from 'EditedSFX.rar' into the folder C:\temp\sfx\
Extract files from '139 beta.rar' into the folder C:\temp\sfx\
    Repairing '254-change clothes.wav'
Load the file in a sound edit such as Audacity.
Save the file in this format: Microsoft ADPCM, 44100 Khz, 4bits, Mono
    Run .\tools\cosmo095c\Cosmo.exe
In the menu, select TOOLS | AUDIO EDITOR and open .\data\sound\audio.fmt
Select and replace each sound in the editor with the corresponding sound in C:\temp\sfx\

...however it does not quite match exactly what's happening in Bootleg.bat - that one is installing this mod by running BootlegSFX.exe after copying it to %FF7Path%\data\sound\
And then the conclusion is written to BootlegSFX_log.txt.

No matter how much I try I always get
Error      Target folder not found. (1004)
Error      Patch failed. (1004)
which is odd and I don't understand the error.

Even more odd that this is what I get in Bootleg.log
Installing Armorvil's Bootlegged Sound Effects . . .
Completed Bootleg SFX Patch.

Help anyone?

I'm getting this in BootlegSFX_log.txt

This is after fresh reinstall of FF7 and running bootleg with all mods available (green).
Odd enough that I remember my first experience with Bootleg that applied New sounds successfully. Now I have no luck at all.

If I knew what exactly is happening during the steps of applying New Sounds I might figure out what went wrong.

Hey! )))
You mention me in first post.. what a fuzzy feeling to see something like that after so many years since I've visited these boards.

And walking in my footsteps you've gone much much further than I would probably get. This is just what I've come for in a first place. I'm gonna play FFVII again that's right. And I want the best experience a modding community can offer. I've read some obsolete posts at the beginning of this thread and some say this is for noobs etc. Well it is for me alright, instead of spending days of searching and reading through these boards and testing and trying and tweaking I would just install this remix and spend those days instantly playing FFVII anew.

Many thanks for saving my time titeguy3.

(and maybe I'd be missing something and maybe I'd pick a slightly different setup of mods... but I don't care because this is definitely good enough and ultimately worth the time and troublesave)

char.lpg contains copyrighted files
NPC RP patch does not at all!

open the eyes and see the difference

15
You sure you can alt+f4 out of the black screen?
Kindo, try hitting enter on numpad several times when on the black screen. If it sends you to main menu that means you have wrong path to movies in registry.

16
Maybe you've tried to install NPC RP and did not have regional settings at English? That's my experience.

When I try to run the patcher inside my ff7 directory I get this error and nothing happens.

"Component COMDLG32.OCX or one of its dependencies not correctly registered. A file is missing or invalid."

What's wrong?

Duck TrueMotion2 VFW codec. for example here

The coulours are indeed glowy but they and hard-encoded. They must've been glowy already when you've opened the original in VirtualDub. Problably wrong VFW codec used to load up video. Tweak tweak tweak.

what about a sample of that glowy colors?

Archive / Re: FF7 movies decoding enhancement
« on: 2007-09-10 06:48:35 »
First.. you don't have to disable Indeo encoding if your videos are indeed encoden in Indeo. They are playing just fine. Just make sure you've pointed the path to YOUR videos and not the original from cd.

Second.. I don't know which version of ffdshow are you using but the one causing saturated colours is pretty old. With late ffdshow you should get black screen with sounds in the backqround issue. But that applies to the original TrueMotion encoded videos!

FF7 Tools / Re: Yet Another Multi-Patcher
« on: 2007-09-04 07:59:32 »
I can apply the transparent and swirl patches, but the minigame patch "corrupts" the FF7.exe, so I can't apply it....curious if there is any suggestions

The latest minimages patch includes swirl patch so if you use old swirl with new minigames the corruption is expectable. It's already there! Use only latest minigames and read carefully next time.

Well, Agent009 (what does the code 009 mean in the world of agents if I may ask?)

You seem to have no idea what are you tweaking and furthermore advise others to do so likewise, you know, most folks would like fine settings not only for FF7 videos but for overall use as well. Setting anything under encoding options should have absolutely no impact on playback unless an encoder is used as a direcshow filter which is very unlikely. Decoding options are used for playback but I see no sense in turning off ffdshow processing for video formats other than TrueMotion2 which is the one FF7 videos use.

I've compared the pictures you've posted and neither look okay to me. The "after" one has contrasting colors, you may see that on Aeris' shoulders..there are sharp steps in varying colors.

Making the videos look as good as possible was discussed a few times already. Mostly of all it involves reencodint the original videos with Indeo5. You may look into that in this older thread.
