Honestly, this feels like it's designed plainly to be frustrating and not a challenge.
There is only so much challenge before it turns into something only one out of a thousand people will complete and yes, thats not difficulty, that's just designed to torture player
Because, how exactly are people to figure out strategies for those things? Trial and Error?

I am aware that these enemies are very hard to defeat at the least. Personally, I would encourage people to read these enemies' AI and check them via ProudClod/Hojo. Afterwards, one should generally know how to beat them.
What I intend to offer are indeed challenging fights for those who like to conceive of interesting strategies since most of these encounters can be ended victoriously only by resorting to a certain strategy. I can understand that many might find this kind of challenge frustrating, and yet, I hope that at least a single person will enjoy it.  ;)

Is there any particular reason why I am asked to confirm being at least 18 years old before being allowed to watch that video?  :o

If the latter, could I simply replace the new flevel with my backed up one and everything will be hunky-dory?

I suppose you could.

So, after having been introduced to the joys of AI scripting, I figured someone might want to test out what I have done so far. Therefore, I am publishing here the compilation of all FF7 enemies, which I have created, i.e. whose appearance and AI I have drastically altered, so far or which I am working on.

In case someone would like to try these out, send me a PM.

Perhaps I will once include all these enemies in a comprehensive hack. Yet, at the moment, they are just some insanely hard stand-alone hardcore enemies.

Best possible achivement (not yet done) : 7 hours and 12 minutes. Would require LOTS of luck though, and is most likely to never be done.

How come you are so sure about the exact number of minutes (432)?

I am sorry to ask but what exactly is the dancind part in this?
All I could see was a woman doing her best at what I believe was a fairly misguided attempt at resuscitating the man who was sitting on the floor...

When doing some research on Limit Breaks in FF7, I came across the probably most mysterious attack in the entire game, namely Blade Beam.

According to Libre and WallMarket, both of Blade Beam's attack parts, as it consists of two seperate attacks as Finishing Touch and Satan Slam, are physical. However, this only holds true as long as at least two ennemies are present and in the same row at the moment Blade Beam is employed by Cloud for, in case only one enemy can be targeted by the entirety of Blade Beam's attack, something strange happens.

Firstly, Blade Beam will consist only of its first attack part, whereas the secondary subsequent diffusing beams will obviously be left out, and secondly, that first attack will even look slightly different. The peculiarity of Blade Beam being used completely excluisvely on a single becomes manifest in this: While it is still inflicting physical damage, since a magically immune enemy will still sustain damage, it is simultaneously triggering that enemy's magical(!) counter, which I cannot understand why this occurs, seeing that neither WallMarket nor Libre indicate that any part of Blade Beam could be a magical attack. As far as I know, not only is there no other attack that does physical damage and triggers magical counters as well but it is also impossible to copy that property of Blade Beam.

Because of this elusive attribute, it seems to me Blade Beam is hardcoded in any way. In case anyone happened to know more about why Blade Beam behaves so strangely, I would like to know.

What's up with the little area between your keyboard and the bathroom?

I was wondering as well. The art gallery perhaps?  ;)

I was in the Navy...
I'm home now.. Here's a comparison shot of the model vs the real thing. I would of tied to match them better the I don't know how to set the FOV in Sketchup.  Also It seems my windows are not tall enough, I'll be fixing that quickly.

First with my back against my door looking into the kitchen.

Next is my back against the fridge looking towards the door.

This is a kitchen, dressing room and garage all in one (possibly a dining room and a hall as well...;)).

By the way: What a nice picture on the wall, reminds me of Dita von Teese...  :-D

You fold them. One is for pants and the other, shirts
And you do need a profound gift for folding clothes.   ;)

Some kind of Tetris. One has to rearrange the furniture so that everything still fits in and is even still usable. This seems to be an experts-only game to me given that I am still wondering how you store your clothes in totes. ;)

It seems it is impossible to win all item drops from multiple enemies.

Example:
Fighting two soldiers (shinra HQ) will not allow you to win 2x grenade (1 is max)
Fighting three soldiers will not allow you to win 3x grenade (2 is max)
Fighting three sneaky steps will not allow you to win 3x m-tentacles (2 is max)

Am I wrong about this? Anything known about the mechanics?

I've never seen 100% item drops from multiple enemies. Although it could be that the full drop is quite rare...

What is known about the mechanics is that an enemy will never yield more than 1 item. This means that if one were to steal an item from an enemy, that enemy could not drop another item at the same time. So, did you actually steal while doing these drop rate tests?
Apart from that, I would suggest that you calculate the expected probability of all enemies dropping an item. As it probably will not be so low in the cases you are mentioning, you could easily do enough test runs to come across statistically significant deviations from your calculations in case it were in fact impossible for all enemies to drop an item.
What I also find remarkable is that you are referring exclusively to instances of multiple enemies of only one type. Perhaps the peculiarity concerning the drop rate you seem to be experiencing only applies to these cases as well.

The only thing that I felt was really lacking this hack was an interesting Ultimate Weapon battle (was any form of Ultimate Weapon altered at all?). So, I made my own one:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqABK5bessM

I am afraid it is much harder than Omega, unbeatable rather, I think.

119
Funny how the original Supernova doesn't have this issues. It can even be used as a regular magic or Limit.

The "original Supernova"? Is there a custom Supernova in the original Japanese version?

A pre-emptive tip for all jenovas except the last one. Use Clouds physical attack. They're weak against it. In the next release they'll be weak to all physicals to make it less cryptic.

I have been wondering about that property of your Jenova bosses: Why exactly ae they weak to Cut? Is this an allusion to something in particular?

121
Unfortunately, it seems not so. For example, Zombie=192 and all status effects=255. I have not tried anything else but it seems rather counterintuitive.

122
So, does this mean Petrification=1, Venom=2, ..., Trouble=32, Zombie=64? I thought so, however, trying these numbers does not genearte the results I expected. Does anyone know which numbers correspond to the respective status effects?

123
Hey, I was wondering if there is an explanation on how to deal with the "Status bits".

It has been a long time since i played on my FF7 Hardcore, i got up to Omega but it was not playable.

What exactly do you mean by "not playable"? And when was that?

Oh, well, some months ago I used your mod for the first time and was shocked by the changes but the only thing I regarded as absolutely inappropriately hard were the hedgehog pies in the church in the slums... Omega was severely overpowered (I loathed Iai Strike(!)) but other than that, nothing was out of the wordly realms in terms of beatableness. In fact, I decided to make the Weapons morphable as well (I am a devoted enthusiast of morphing...).
Now, that I have decided to use your latest version of the mod I sometimes wondered whether is was using your hardcore mod or the original version...^^ Of course, Omega is now much more comfortable to beat (In fact, so much to make his 2nd form morphable as well). But Safer Sephiroth, whom I have recently defeated again (I will probably upload a video of that fight) did not cause too much problems. I only wish he had used his visually very pleasing "Pain" move more often...;)
