I've encountered a bug that breaks the game sequence while attempting to recruit Yuffie after reaching the Junon area. Same area as this post: http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=20434.msg283912#msg283912.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Launch SYW (v5.31) modded FF7 using SYW launcher
2. Reach Junon area
3. Encounter and defeat Yuffie in a random encounter
Expected Result: Next scene involving recruiting Yuffie
Actual Result: Transported to a flashback scene in Nibelhem far in advance of where the story currently is at

Not sure if it matters, but I have edited my save file using the Black Chocobo save game editor, giving myself all consumeable items and increasing Cloud's level to 50.

Uploaded save here (first slot): https://www.mediafire.com/file/1lht8sy9l2tpcbm/save00.ff7/file
And video here: https://www.mediafire.com/file/ewced8ntqtwa8xh/Final_Fantasy_VII_2021-06-27_17-03-53.mp4/file

I just tried to replicate this from my own save (unedited save file) and this does not occur. This must be an issue with your edited save game

I do indeed!

Second slot, called "Ropeway station". You'll be in the Gold Saucer and can go straight there to the battle arena.

Thanks a lot for looking into it, as I prefer your installer to 7th Heaven.

Amazing pack satsuki! Thank you!

Just to report, the battle square wheel bug is indeed an issue with the All-in-one Installer option.

Steps to reproduce:

1) Installed FF7 fresh from Steam
2) Installed "All in-one Installer" (v5.30 + Update.v5.31)
3) Battle square wheel bug occured

1) Reinstalled FF7 Steam clean
2) Installed SYW V5 pack using 7th Heaven iro
3)  Battle square wheel appeared normal

If I choose the option "launch game unmodified" from the control panel the Battle square wheel will appear as normal. I have tried various combos of turning on and off certain mods and engines but to no avail.

Thanks for the long post Kuraudo. The game sounds great. I'm relieved by the combat mechanics. I would have been hitting my head off the keyboard if they decided to keep it pure turn based (yes i know the original is great, but i don't want a carbon copy).

7
Oh great! Ill try out that frame limiter so. Thanks

General Discussion / Chocobo Racing fixed in Steam version
« on: 2016-07-07 17:40:42 »
Do people still experience overly fast chocobo racing (in modded/original version)? I know the steam version has corrected this, but has aali's driver or any other mod tried to do the same?

9
Absolutely great work. Big thanks for all your efforts. This is the definitive collection of backgrounds no doubt.

Not to be a pain but I found a small background problem.

nivl_b22 + nivl_b2 - http://www.mediafire.com/view/07ugx3lf16jlw4f/nivl_b22_b2.jpg

I'll try to get through most of the game again and see if i can spot anything to report back to you.
I love those highwind alterations  8-)

General Discussion / Black Border Errors
« on: 2014-07-17 13:41:13 »
Does anyone know why this happens - http://youtu.be/N8WC3fWxqDo

Basically the steam version keeps the white flash/background within the aspect ratio. Using aali's driver it doesn't. This happens quite a lot through out the game.

No worries YarLson, glad to help. There isn't anymore real obvious mistakes or errors which is great. So here's a list of minor stuff.

Okay apologies in advance here because some of these are laughably minute in error but I said i'll report them anyway. Some im pretty sure are in all PC versions (the pixel colour errors). Some are possibly not mistakes at all and im just going mad! You can make of them what you will.

I have found two small transition problems so far.

Here's the first - http://youtu.be/maHkM-zRugg
The backgrounds it pertains to are md_e1, cosmo2 and (can't find the one with Bugenhagen):(

Here's the second - http://youtu.be/WpSNWQynkjM
This background file is bugin1a.

I've nearly gone through the entire game so everything is looking good so far.
I do spot certain backgrounds that stand out a lot more because of their jagged nature - such as http://www.mediafire.com/view/blpdty87swa5lb2/ff7_2014-07-16_16-59-56-62.jpg

But I haven't been reporting these because I imagine they are unavoidable.

Great Stuff yarLson! You mentioned you wanted to hear if there were any small discrepancies.

junair -  The highwind's lights don't fade and emit. [Just need to delete junair_16_00.png]
gaiafoot - Large black squares present
trnad_1 - The screen is supposed to transition into a green mist but the screen just goes black instead. You can see the transition here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzWb-zMsjLo&list=PLB3794695EC5A2382#t=3595   [at the 1 hour mark]
md8_5 - Blue Lines and squares. [This also had to be fixed in Omzy's Field Pack]
 tunnel_5 - Red lights don't fade and emit [tunnel_5_15_00.png]
ealin_2 - Door on left side stays closed when opened [ealin_2_00_00.png]
nivinn_2 - Door is both open and closed

I can confirm from watching DarkThrone's Stream on twitchtv, that the Junon Airfield Music Bug is fixed in this version. The OGG files didn't use to play after the seeing the Highwind because of a ramp down in volume. However in this version it plays fine and even pauses just before the Soliders March and Sing for cloud in the locker room before recommencing. He is also using the OGG files bloodshot supplied for him.

Mightn't sound like much, but this bug was pissing me off.

18
Anyone interested. This guy is streaming a walkthrough of the game

http://www.twitch.tv/darkthrone

EDIT: Im looking to see if they fixed that bug in Junon Airport were the music just stops with  FF7Music because the volume has to ramp up and down. That would serve as a nice fix in my eyes......but im sceptical.

19
Actually, ZellSF is correct, there is a feature missing from the FF7Music plugin. This issue will be fixed in the next version of the driver.

Aali, does that mean you will be able to solve the very very very old problem of volume fading/stopping in FF7? I used to comment on how this was a big problem in the Junon area. Because the music stops but because there is no fading, the music never returns until much later.

20
Thanks man! Here is the save file

http://www.mediafire.com/?hndhsvl0d6yttmk

The very first save file is the quickest. Once you load it, you will hear the "parade" music, once you go outside and jump on the lift you should hear the music turn off, then try to go back down the lift it will not resume.

The second save file (entitled Junon) is right before you climb the tower as well. Just in case you wanted to check that.

21
I've realised the FF7 music log starts each time with "Prevented from resuming". And thats exactly what is happening here, the program can Stop fine and play the Midi effect but can't resume the FF7 music again. Is there a way I can tweak this?

22
Can you confirm that this doesnt happen in your game? I have tried my laptop now as well and the exact same problem proceeds I am using Aali's drivers. I have used 7.9 and 7.10b but there is no difference. I also am using the FMV restoration and I have even taken out the Highwind FMV and the elevator (lift outside) FMV to see if they affected anything. And still nothing? If you don't encounter this problem there is bound to be a solution on my side then, that I have not found. But if you do encounter the same bug then I there is nothing much I can do.

23
I downloaded the installer and it works great but I have one problem at the junon airport.

I understand that the Fade in/out option doesnt work, but when cloud climbs up the voltage tower to see the highwind for the first time, the music stops. Thats fine and wind sounds are played for a while. But when I go into the Soliders quarters the music doesnt restart. It keeps silent. And then when I go outside to the parade, the music is still missing. I saved a game file inside the Junon Airport (the soliders quarters) and the music plays fine. But as soon as I go back outside to the place with the highwind and the music turns off, it wont resume again. Is there any fix for this?

Thanks!

Releases / Re: [REL] Final Fantasy VII FMV Restoration
« on: 2011-02-08 16:59:03 »
Im using aali 7.9 because when I use 7.10b the movies are very dark looking. How do I resolve that with the newest aali driver?

UPDATE: I fixed it using aali latest driver 7.10b. I went into the shaders folder and into the yuv.frag file and erased the line

"if(!full_range) y = (y - (1.0 / 255.0) * 16.0) * (255.0 / (235.0 - 16.0));"

Once that was gone. The movies had perfect gamma again.

I've realised that my sound is out of sync with the FMVs. I noticed this during the bike.avi that all the sounds were delayed (example when he goes through the glass and skids). However when I watch the avi normally with WMP the sound is perfect and accurate.

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks
