This seems fine. What about your installation order?

127
Not right now, no. You can wait up until the next release, but that won't be before a year at least.

128
ostugua_aryam - It doesn't seem like you installed any of the gameplay mods, which makes me wonder why this happens. Did you run the Game Converter prior to installing? It seems like a previous install was not successfully removed, or that it had trouble going through the Steam folder (that happens if the Game Converter wasn't installed, but can happen if it was).

decency_breakin3 - To be quite honest, the Bootleg Custom Models folder is not that good of an idea. It's there, but using it is hit or miss. The models in there are installed after Bootleg is done, before finishing. It won't resolve any conflict, and that can result in weird models. It overwrites anything present in there (under folders named Field, Battle, Magic, High, Chocobo and World). I personally don't recommend it as this can lead to weird bugs, but if you know what you're doing, then go ahead. I can't help troubleshoot problems arising from the use of this folder, though.

Someone around here might know. Otherwise, Google can be of good help.

130
It will be in your FF7 Game folder. My bad.

131
Textures have to be applied on top of the model, but the colors you see are polygon colors. I'm not the best either, but as far as I know you can't do it easily. I can't help much more than the theory.

132
otsugua_aryam - Post the contents of bootleg.log and LastUsed.bp, both found in your Bootleg folder.

decency_breakin3 - You cannot use Bootleg to alter game files after it has run. You'll need to uninstall and re-install anew. If you plan to constantly swap between models and game modes, I recommend 7th Heaven.

133
Did the counter say 30 minutes? There's a chance you're using Nightmare.

135
If you want to add key items to your save, the short answer is that you can't.

136
Copy the FF7 folder to a non-system folder and use it on there. The Program Files, My Documents or the Desktop are not valid install locations.

137
Bootleg will convert the 2012 SE Store version to the 1998 version when ran. Where is your game installed? Not just the Program Files are system folders. Also where are the mods and Bootleg?

138
Eyes and mouth are textures and not part of the polygons. You can't "remove these white polygons", as that's what the model is. Textures are applied on top of the mesh to add the eyes and mouth properly.

Merry holidays! This is the time of the year to sit back, relax and enjoy your free time.

140
That's installing the Menu overhaul with the 9999 Limit break checked if it's not installed, or the other way around. Both will result in what you have.

141
If you're going to be using only single-file scripts, Notepad++ has an integrated launch setting. You can also create a simple script to get around that.

If you're looking for an advanced text editor, Notepad++ is what I use daily. It has great syntax highlighting and indentation support. IDLE seems pretty fine too, although I never used it (I prefer directly executing the code rather than go through IDEs).

143
Seems like you fixed your issue. Bootleg is undergoing a complete rewrite, and bug reports for the current release are not of any significance. I cannot fix it, and it won't be present in the next release.

Bootleg Questions / Re: Music Bug with Bootleg?

Please don't submit four subsequent posts if there was no reply. There is a small "Modify" button at the top right of your messages to edit. I merged your posts together.

Regarding your issue, I can tell you with 100% certainty that the registry has nothing to do with what Bootleg installs, and if it installs it or not. Bootleg should overwrite any registry key to the correct value. However, it is recommended to delete the game folder before reinstalling.

Part 8 was uploaded.

Edit: Part 9 too; same link as above.

General Discussion / Re: Kingdom Hearts 1 vs KH2

I know that a java based psp emulator exists

I will try bbs if I get a psp environment to work.

If you're talking about jpcsp, don't use it. Use ppsspp instead.

Also yes, BbS is really awesome. I finished 1/3 of it.

147
Yes. However, Bootleg's integrated converter will also work on the Steam version if it's not inside any of Steam's folders; if the installation was moved outside of the Steam folder for instance. I will check these settings when I have some time this evening.

148
I have the Steam version, the game is installed in E:\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\FINAL FANTASY VII and I use Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit

Did you use the Game Converter? From what I know, this error doesn't mean the direct folder should be used. It just means it failed to find that particular file. However, it does seem like your char.lgp file is broken someone. Can I have the contents of your LastUsed.bp file, found in the Bootleg folder?

149
I still have not been able to solve my problem myself... Is it possible that someone uploads his \FINAL FANTASY VII\direct\ folder somewhere so I can look whether my game works if I use the folder of someone else?

Wouldn't change a thing. The direct folder shouldn't be used for normal gameplay, and I don't think any mod uses it, although I can't be sure. Using someone else's folder would not solve your issue, whatever it is.

Onto troubleshooting. Which version of the game do you have, where is the game installed and which OS do you run?

1. Bootleg automatically backs your saves up. I do however recommend backing them up somewhere else as well. Never trust a software to keep your stuff (even though I know for a fact Bootleg copies it over).
2. Saves between different gameplay mods will cause weird issues if you load a save in a mod that wasn't started and done in that mod. Otherwise it's fine.

Edit: Realized you're not using Bootleg. Still, only the 'save' folder needs to be kept. Point 2 still stands.
