World map crash
« on: 2007-01-27 12:15:29 »
Hi! I seriously need help. After Kalm and the Nibelheim incident story, I go out to world map. First problem is, that it takes really long to load even if I have computer better than needed for the game. But thats not really bothering me. I can wait. What really bad is, that when a fight in world map is over the game chrashes.

I have Official patch 1.02, YAMP (Btw the transparent dialog boxes didnt work),  Higher Quality Cloud mod, NPC reconstruction project and New spell patch. 1,5 GHz processor, nVidia graphic card, 256 RAM
Can somebody help me, please? I've tried to battle like million times, and it always crashes.    Co se sakra dÄ›je?!

Hey there an wellcome to the forums. :-D

You should try to reinstall the game and install every patches and mods one by one and test if it crashes again... and then you'll know which patch or mod is the problem and then you can tell us so we can help you more.

Well .. I wasn't kidding when saying to reinstall it... and of course you should save the save hehe... the thing is .. it's prabably due to one of the mods you installed ... so the best way to figure witch one makes it crash is to have a fresh install and test all mods one by one to see when it freaze...

I did it. The world map worked. (always loaded like 50 secs). But it always crashed, when I tried to leave chocobo farm. But! before, chochobo farm worked perfectly. Now what the hell? Seriously, I think my ff7 is really fauked up. :-P

[EDIT]It started to crash after I used the High quality Cloud mod. That's really bad, because the quality of normal battle Cloud is really really awful.

Isn't that a case like this?

Quote
The battle crash is caused by corrupted battle.lgp. Why? Because the installation program of 4. patch incorrectly asks you to point out DATA dir which is wrong. You have to choose DATA\BATTLE\ dir as I wrote in the doc. So replace battle.lgp with the original from CD and do the patching again, this time correctly.

Hum... It suddenly doesn't crash now. It's a mystery. I hate it, but well, I'll just go along and play forth. Thanks anyway. Ja!
