Archive / Dual shock in FF7?
« on: 2004-09-26 14:03:42 »
I just picked up a $15 rumble pad at Best Buy and it works great.  Same button format as the PSX/2 controller, so its a cheep way to get rumble for FFVII.    :D

General Discussion / More Final Fantasy VII?
« on: 2004-07-24 14:36:35 »
Hehe, frankly, I've been waiting for a FFVII remake since I finished the game for about the fifth time and finally said, "This is a KICK*** GAME!!!  But you know what would make it even better?  A brand-spanking new GRAPHICS ENGINE!!!"

I've always supported the idea of a FFVII remake, because I think that better graphics would only amplify the experience which is Final Fantasy VII.  I only wish that Sqeenix were doing that so you guys here wouldn't have to so much  :)  .

I dunno, I think a sequel would be beside the point, because of the whole "500 years later" part of the end FMV, when Nanaki (RedXIII's real name) is running with young of his own species and lookibg over a Midgar that has been taken over by forest (making it look like humans didn't make it through Holy's cleansing of the planet).  A prequel WOULD make much more sense.

In the meantime, we can watch a CG movie that looks like it could be a decent movie, at the least.  Also, people can keep releasing patches they've constructed to make the game look better.

General Discussion / FF8 PC vs PSX Emu
« on: 2004-07-23 03:45:41 »
Hrm, I've fiddled around a LOT with this kind of stuff with EPSXE, if you configure the plugin just right, then it should be okay.  I tip for getting up the framerates, raise the framerate limit just a tad (say, 65 or 70 fps) and see if you get a speed boost.  Also, don't try to put ALL of the super special options on, because most of the require fat amounts of ram (I have 512MB, so I don't have many problems). If you're running anything under 256 megs of ram, you are gonna have LOTS of problems, because these emulators require 256 megs and recommend 512 megs (although, if your computer is fast enough, you shouldn't have too many problems with 256 megs if you configure it correctly).

Also, try and use the hardware options as much as possible with your card, software options will only make it worse.

General Discussion / Hunting for "Story" people
« on: 2004-07-23 03:11:11 »
You're going to change the story?  It's such a great story, why change it at all (except for the issues with copyrite)?  Is it possible to just have some people peice out the storyline from the original?  Just making a few quick suggestions.

Also, Cloud wasn't really a clone, he was a normal soldier until he threw Sepiroth into the lifestream at Nibelhiem.  Then Hojo must've found him at the reactor afterwards, and taken him to experiment.  This is all covered in the second disk when Cloud and Tifa fall into the lifestream.  He had Jenova cells injected into him that changed everyone's memories to suit his new identity.

I'm a lazy teenager, Saint, but I don't have much free time.  I might be able to send in a tid bit of story ideas every now and then, though.

thats all that I ask, I know that it's a wierd resoloution, but it would be a useful one.  But, like I said, looks great, can't wait to see a finished version, heck, I've seen this monitor do lots anyway.  Just do what you can to get this puppy out!!

This looks freakin AWESOME, I can't wait to see some more pics when it's done.  I'd use the patch, except I have a crappy 15-inch monitor

If there is a possibilty that you could have the resoloution 960x720 (320x240x3), then that would be great for the people who have crappy monitors (a.k.a. Myself)

Keep up the good work!!

« on: 2004-07-19 22:03:08 »
Hey, I can't get the cloud hi-res out of battle patch to work on my computer.  I've determined that my cds never install the field file to my hard drive, so the appropriate LGP file does not exist on my hard drive.  Is there a way to get FFVII to access the file from my hard drive if I copy the file from on of the cds?

Sorry if I confuse anyone, I do that a lot.
