Final Fantasy 10 PCSX2......
« on: 2008-06-24 04:01:22 »
Has anyone tried playing this on their PC yet? I was wondering if anyone could recommend what specs to play this on. I have a intel quad core overclocked to 3.2ghz. Will this be enough to play relatively smooth?

Me ^^
A Quad [email protected] and a medium-class vga like 8600GT should be enough (even more :D). You can also set the internal resolution@1920*1080 (or just 1280*720) and playing on a HDTV. It's really awesome ^^ Though fps could go lower than 50/60 fps (100% speed) depending on how many polygons are on a frame (esp while summoning Shiva) but it happens rarely, you dont have to worry

Does it work as well as it would on a real PS2?

I'm itching to play this on my PC, I'm going to start looking into setting up PCSX2, so I guess I'm just wondering if its worth the bother.

The more powerful your rig is, the faster speed you get. Still pcsx2 is a WIP so its speed is not stable. You can get 400fps in menu, 90 in 2D background frame or even 20 in others but if the speed is so high, you can use Limit mode like common emulators. I recommend a C2D/C2Q@3GHz (or higher) and a mid-range vga like 8600GT if you wanna an enjoyable speed and pretty good image quality (1280*720 with texture filtering)
