errrmm.... Are my files named differently or something? I'm confused. Mine are named file000000, file000001, ect. :? I extracted them using Xpert 2. Could someone clear this up?
Also, I opened up the background files in a hex editor and it begins with RIFF.  I just assumed they were SSCF since they didn't open like the other sound files.  Sorry for any confusion. Like I said before, only the Hi-MD renderer opens the background music.

This, to me, seems like a great idea. The only limits I can think of are that the game might lag some, and it might take up a massive amount of space. The new "backgrounds" could to be generally low poly, though. Shouldn't be to much of a problem.
If you need any modelers I would be glad to help, I have a considerable amount of free time on my hands on the weekends, almost 24 hours.

I just wanted to add that the background music (SSCF audio files) can be converted to wav or mp3 without using the psp. :-) These are the SSCF audio files right? You can convert them using this program here:
http://www.marcnetsystem.co.uk/himdrenderer054.zip
I know it's a Hi-md renderer, but it converts the background music perfectly. Interesting huh?
The voices ( RIFF I think)can be converted by simply changing the extension to .wav and installing the ATRAC3 codec. The wiki says the only way to decode the SSCF audio is using the PSP hardware and AT3 decoder, though :-D

Granted, but your roof caves in and crushes you.

I wish that my boring weekend is over so I can talk to my friends in person.

General Discussion / Recording Videos of FFVII
« on: 2008-12-30 18:37:04 »
Does anyone have any recommendations of how to get the best results when recording videos in FF7? I mean what programs, what frame rate, etc. Every time I try fraps it simply crashes FF7.
Also, many of the programs I tried will only record really slow frame rates.

Did you say goodies folder and no cd crack? You wouldn't happen to have ultima edition would you? No support for pirated games here.

What exactly is a .NET framework and what are run time files if I may ask? :? I'll probably try to Google it right now.

EDIT: I installed the latest .NET framework and I still have the same problem. =(
I didn't have this problem until a Windows Update, if that helps anyone who might have a solution.

Hi, I'm kind of a noob to these forums, I've only made four posts, but I know the basics of modding FF7. One day I tried
to run Kimera 0.84b when I got this error:   :?

Run-time error '7':

Out of memory

I tried closing all other open programs and restarting Windows several times. Alas, my efforts have been in vain and I keep getting the same error. Without Kimera, I will never be able to finish the project I'm working on.
Any help is appreciated very much.

Archive / Battle model location

I was wondering, does anyone here know the name of cloud's battle model file, and possibly the other playable characters' in battle.lpg . I was replacing the main characters from ff7 with Bleach characters. I already have a index of char.lpg but not battle.lpg . There are a lot of files in these archives =P  and if anyone knew the name of cloud's battle model, then thanks ahead.

Releases / Re: [Release] Slayersnext's Customized Models

Hmmm... Interesting. Is it just me or does clouds new haircut look like knuckles'?

Wow these models look great!

I see you've released the max models, but are the ones you just released able to be put in-game? I'm used to doing the old method of extracting the battle.lgp files and then replacing the files with the appropriate replacements and then re-compiling, but i've never done this before. I have 3ds max 8 and all, but did you release these just so that we can view them? Or are they able to be put in-game by ourselves? I'd really like to enhance my playthrough right now with your models, thank you for replying in advance!
I think that there is a program called pc creator that can turn 3ds max models into ff7 format models.
