Completely Unrelated / Who here loves their Dreamcast?!
« on: 2009-02-27 19:34:53 »
I've had one for about 5 years and I loved it until it died. Its a shame that a game console with such a high good-bad game ratio was ended so soon. Its like condensing a PS2 game collection, but enough from me, how do you like it?
I enjoyed old school shooters on it, it had such a nice anti aliasing chip on it. Since then I have been playing the 360, but aside from the great controller, theres really not much to play except Halo 3 IMO.

What was your experience with this fantastic piece of technology?

I actually took up your suggestion for playing Deus Ex! Thank you! Does Indigo Prophecy smoke too?

Good games that don't smoke:
Tetris.
Einhander.
Code Veronica.

Seem that you play a lot of immensive FPS style RPGs.

A television? What resolution?
I would remove the paging file alltogether, purchase 2GB for about 100USD, and on a graphics card, HD 4850?

What a terrible signature! It doesn't have proper blending and its basically an image of three poor antagonists, over a stock background with an indistinguishable name at the bottom right. If you're new to signature making at least make it unique and pleasant to look at. http://img184.imageshack.us/img184/6171/ichigomashimarov03c025pqe0.jpg

Oh chaoscontrol, you never stop making me lol. Its the best sig I've seen.

as an owner of a 360 i can say since the news of ffviii coming to 360, im not dissapointed in it at all. i do not want anything on the ps3, except its free multiplayer, i don't use live because i dont believe in paying for garbage. the ps3 is impressive in what it can do rather than what it does (very good console with mediocre games). if any game console interests you it should be the 360 for its content, and ps3 for it's.... potential. i would trade my 360 and all the games for the final fantasy and disgaea 3 though.

Don't watch so much p0rn.

I think it was you who suggested/told of the greatness of Deus Ex. I played it and loved every bit of it. That game has some of the most fun gameplay I have ever played

I don't know why people like AmaroK anyways. I tried it, hated it, and ended emulating foobar2000 until I got Windows again, and I resumed the use of it. What was funny was that foobar2000 ened up running more stable and faster than native Linux apps.

This is really nice! I used to think the opposite: don't get organized and just used a good search program for everything, as long as I could remember their filename that is.

Did all of them come with the mods disc? The version I got did. Aw crap, the only game I bought that I didn't need the CD for and I LOST it.
James, did you ever try to install it on a Linux box?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unreal_Tournament_2004

It came with extra discs, so I assumed I could install it in Linux and Mac. Haven't tried yet though, but I assume it does work.
Supposedly this guy did it with a few crashes to the desktop:

Concerning media playback, VLC can play everything, but Its not good for organization.

I'm not here to argue, I'm just stating the fact that you can play media without any more tinkering on PCLOS, and I assume that because UT2004 claims Linux support, it does.

Games that use openGL like Unreal Tournement can be natively run in Linux.
And don't get Ubuntu, try for PCLinuxOS first, its got immediate MP3 playback and video playback, something that Ubuntu lacks.

13
Try to save your save files and reinstall the game completely.

Naw they're sold out already. I barely got mines. I heard if you got a broken one then they gave you a free artbook along with it, shame mines wasn't. Unless I'm encouraging you to purchase a brand new shiny betamax compatiable video recorder!
Oh right I remember you talking about Bioshock and SS2. This mod makes it VERY hard...
*This is a difficulty and balance mod for Bioshock to make the game more fun for players*

*Contains over 30 changes to make the game more balanced, and difficult*

1) Wrench does 1/5 the amount of damage it used to do!

2) Rosie's have 2x more health!

3) Bouncers have 3x more health!

4) Ammo and money are alot more scarce!

5) Plasmids and Tonics now cost quadruple what they used to cost!

6) Most Gatherers Garden have 9 supplies of Health, Eve and Genetic Slots Upgrade!

7) Harvesting Little Sisters now gives 400 ADAM while saving them gives 200 ADAM!

8) Most Circus of Values Vending Machines no longer sell ammo or AutoHacks!

9) Most Bandito Vending Machines sell AutoHacks!

10) Everything is alot harder to hack, especially Medical Stations and Vending Machines!

11) All Health Stations yield at least one first aid kit if you break them. The wrench works also!

12) Many Splicers have more health, or may be more inmune to certain plasmids!

13) Vending machines now only sell 3 films per roll!

14) Slight tone down to the crossbow's power!

15) Chemical Thrower is now extremely effective, but the chemicals are also extremely scarce!

16) The wrench does 20x more damage to an enemy stuned by Electrobolt!

17) Items from Circus of Values and Bandito now cost more!

18) Damage done by things thrown by the Telekenisis plasmid is alot lower!

19) Explosive barrels, and tanks do more area damage!

20) The game will no longer help you if your low on supplies!

21) Paying the machine to hack itself costs a lot more, you also suffer a lot more if you fail!

22) You will now feel as much damage from being electrocuted on water as the splicers do!

23) You will now feel alot more pain if you accidentially burn your self with incinerate!

24) The machinegun now does slightly more damage then before!

25) Cyclone trap is now more powerful!

26) Breaking stuff like Debri and Locks may take more hits with the wrench!

27) The wrench is more useful against thugs, but less useful versus other splicers!

28) Anti-Personal Ammo and Anti-Armor Ammo are less powerful!

29) Falling does more damage to the player, and enemies he may fall on!

30) Dying will actually slightly increases difficulty.

31) The wrench now repairs security stuff like turrets. Just dont strike neutral machines.

32) On easy mode so you have 4x health, 6x eve and do 6x more damage then hard mode.

33) On normal mode so you have 2x health, 3x eve and do 3x more damage then hard mode.

34) Bosses now have more health or do more damage!

35) The mod is most likely compatible with future versions of Bioshock.

I changed this "difficulty mod" into a "difficulty and balance mod" for those that like the changes in balance, but still wanted the game to be be easy if they chose to play the game on easy.

*The main reason I made this mod is to make this amazing game even better*

Any one may put these files on any site and don't need my permission to edit them .

I got them from: http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=116632&page=2

Awwww. Nah, mine just regular edition, although it has steel book packaging.

I didn't know there would be so many conservatives here... I don't think he deserved to be tazered for his IRL Trolling, but knowing America, hes probably going to get a nice sum of money if he pushes it...

So, not condoning asshat trolling is conservative then, and all trolls are non-conservatives (I'm not going to say liberals, because American political system has turned liberal into meaning something quite different it means elsewhere)?

Sweet!

Then I'm conservative communist, and darned cultural relativist too. I believe that I've also been called a terrorist and pagan. :-D Most of those on this very board.
Nice... I'll post my figurine when I find a digital camera.

There was no word for it, but most conservatives agreed with the decision. To discontinue further arguing, you're right maybe he should have been tazered . He was a jerk and the police were just being jerks back. I just think 5 American officers fighting one civillian (who looked twiglike) was a bit too much, along with the tazering.

17
Uhm what games? Its like asking where can you download files.

18
Ah Jari, bought Bioshock Limited Edition?
I love my big daddy.

Hated it, but thats just my opinion.

Dziugo made an excelent program just for this purpose! Its Gypt/YAMP, and you would have found it if you searched a little.
You use it to skip your movies.

Well since its been revived...
Movies like Hoshi no Koe, and 5cm per second are lovely stories.
There are some graphic novels I also would reccomend, Planetarian being one. You don't get any choices like the traditional ones, and you can put it on autoplay, so you might as well cound this as a movie.

22
All right, someone honest enough to not own something because they can't afford it!  :-D
I doubt that you can run photoshop on a 65$ computer, unless you have huge scratch discs. Good luck on pineapple island though!

Create an NTFS partition on the HDD.
Enable some sort of virtualPC that can wirte to a hard drive.
Install windows.

Try ReactOS for a while.

Hope something has been helpful.
