7th Heaven Program and Game Crash

I tried to use the music preview in the Music and Sound mod, but it crash's the program, and gives this message:

Judging from where the APP.log stops recording, it might be the 4th question.

I tried, and I'm still having the problem. Ran it twice, just in case. I had this same problem when I first installed it while it was still trying to push I think the 1.55 update. I downgraded and it was working fine. Then I updated the mods and it stopped working again. I am still running 1.54 though, so I dunno. :(

Why is Sephiroth Story Mod in your load order? I've long since taken that out of the Catalog because it's not in any working condition. It shouldn't even show up in your Catalog to download anymore.

I also can't see if you're using Menu Overhaul or Beacause, which both require a separate .exe to setup in the Workshop -> Settings -> FF7 Exe. I specifically ask to post Profile Details, rather than images, so that I can see what mod options you have activated.

Why is Sephiroth Story Mod in your load order? I've long since taken that out of the Catalog because it's not in any working condition. It shouldn't even show up in your Catalog to download anymore.

It's not? I didn't put it in cause i figured it would interfere with New Threat, it's also not in the catalog to download anyway.

I also can't see if you're using Menu Overhaul or Beacause, which both require a separate .exe to setup in the Workshop -> Settings -> FF7 Exe. I specifically ask to post Profile Details, rather than images, so that I can see what mod options you have activated.

It never worked properly, so I took it out until the mod author could send me something more stable. But the screenshot you linked me showed it loaded. In fact, your Profile Details is much different than the screenshot, so now I know what we're really working with.

Miscellaneous - Dynamic Cloud Weapons
Miscellaneous - Jessie Mod
Miscellaneous - Team Avalanche Fields
Battle Models - Weapons
Field Models - Objects
Gameplay - Difficulty and Story (when using New Threat)
Alphabetical thereafter, beginning with Animations

The above is the load order listed in STEP 5 of the written tutorial. You need to move your Battle Models - Weapons and Field Models - Objects to just below Miscellaneous - Team Avalanche Fields. I don't think this load order mistake will cause the game to crash, but rather you won't see certain weapons and field objects in-game because they are being overwritten.

➣ The Reunion - Menu Overhaul: ...\ff7_mo.exe
➣ The Reunion - Beacause: ...\ff7_bc.exe
➣ The Reunion - Beacause + Menu Overhaul: ...\ff7_bc.exe

The above is what is stated in STEP 3 for the .exe usage. I notice in your Profile Details that Beacause is disabled and Menu Overhaul is enabled, so you need to use ff7_mo.exe. This should be the cause of your crash.


I also can't provide any support on the manual upload of NT. It should work, but I am only going to spend my time on what I know is uploaded to this Catalog. SC just released a new IRO minutes ago, so I'll be updating the Catalog with it today. One thing though...you will not be able to play NT + Beacause together. They overlap way too many of the same files, making compatibility near impossible right now.

Ooooohh, wait wait no, the imgur link i posted was the imgur link that is on the 7th heaven page under TIP: Check the Compact list box to help with arranging the mod list. I put them in the order that has them, and was showing that as a reference. It's not my list of mods, sorry for the confusion. That is also why the mods are out of order. I assumed the imgur image had them in order.

I reordered them, and changed the executable, but unfortunately I am still having the problem. I even restarted the program just in case. I'm going to hate when it's figured out, and it's something incredibly stupid that I've somehow done on my part  :-\

I removed NT and put on Gameplay set for NT. I also guessed that you wouldn't be able to use Beacause with NT since it's a Retranslation and would mess with the text that NT puts in.

You found an error in my tutorial then :) That was an old image when I first began the Catalog, so I need to update it.

Copy/paste the paths in your Workshop -> Settings. Post your new Profile Details, APP.log, and FF7_GC.log. I'll check over everything one more time before we have to start troubleshooting.

Oh my god I'm a freaking idiot. I don't even know how it even ran the first time. I didn't let the game converter finish what it was doing. My computer tends to make CMD run stuff not close on their own even when they are supposed to. So after it popped up with the config, and after a while of nothing, I just assumed it was finished and closed it manually. I am so sorry for wasting your time  :-[ I knew it was going to be a dumb problem I didn't do. I reran it cause I didn't have a FF7_GC.log, and now I know why. Thanks for the help though, I appreciate it.

9.5 out of 10 times it's the user lol. No problem :)

Btw, I have fixed (sort of) the audio preview crash. We unfortunately have to live with a .7z download instead of the .iro format until we can get someone (ANYONE!?) to fix it for v1.56. You will notice, after the download, that the install bar will take a bit to finish before the mod is completely installed into 7H. What it's doing is extracting the folders inside the .7z to be used. Audio previews only work with folder formats atm :|

Anyways, you will need to Uninstall your current Media - Music and Sound and download it again to get the update.

Ooch, yeah that download time is extensive, but it's real handy having that feature working. I also love that it's Tifa's theme that it uses for the preview. I hate to say it, cause I loved it so much when it came out, but 7th Heaven has far surpassed Bootleg. It's visually more appealing, and is easier to use. (Especially without the need to use your torrent for all the mods) So good job!!!

Edit: Don't mind the extreme error in the theme name <.< that never happened >.>
