Thanks FatedCourage for creating this awesome mod, i have a problem though. At the end of Disk 1 and now on Disk 2, i noticed that Squall in battle, the textures change back to normal, other characters work just fine. Any suggestions on this problem? Thanks again for the awesome mod.

EDIT
: I fixed the problem, don't have to worry about it anymore, it was the weapon Squall used that caused the problem, it was cutting trigger, switch to the other fixed it for me. Thanks

  • Start the game
  • Edit your saves with Hyne
  • Load an edited save with the game
  • Resave the edited save in the game

Anyway, I know why you don't have the user directory, and I think that Hyne 1.8.2 will work with your version of FF8.

Hyne 1.8.2 released !

Changelog:
  • [FF8 rerelease] Metadata.xml (Cloud saves) can be updated manually (File > Sign saves for the Cloud...).
  • [FF8 rerelease] Adding error messages when there are errors with metadata.xml (Cloud saves)
  • [FF8 rerelease] Fixing bug: when saving a *.ff8 file, the metadata file is not saved if the selected ff8 installation is not a Steam installation.
  • [FF8 rerelease] Fixing bug: Steam version can be not detected when there are several FF8 installations on the computer.
  • [FF8 rerelease] Hyne now update the metadata file even it is not in an "user_*" directory. Please let me know if it isn't work.
  • Fixing bug: last save path is not saved when exporting a selected save to PC.
  • Change spell count limit to 100 in standard mode.
  • Fixing (old) regression: animate multi-frame icons in save list view (PS memorycard)

Thanks man, i really appreciate it .You've fixed it. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the reply myst6re and no, i don't have any user name and stuff like that. But no worries myst6re, i've just found out an alternative way to make the game not delete my save game. I use these steps to make edited file playable without being deleted, in case you need it:
1. Edit the save file and save as normal
2. Make a copy of the save you just edited to somewhere else.
3. After the intro square soft, square enix, the edited save file will be deleted.
4. Alt + tab out of the game, copy the save in step 2 to the  "%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Square Enix\FINAL FANTASY VIII Steam".
5. PLAY the edited save file.

Well, I'm afraid I do not have a solution yet. You can maybe disable Cloud saves (game properties in Steam).

Hyne 1.8.1 released !

No, this is not a joke, I found a [insert some synonyms for 'stupid' here] bug which cause a bad update of the metadata.xml file. So please update if you use the 1.8 version.

Normally modified FF8 Steam save files are not deleted anymore.

once again thanks for the update myst6re, but my ffviii still delete the save file after being edited, can you help me with this problem?(ffviii steam version 2013)
