« on: 2001-08-10 22:30:00 »
i have to say i got my preview version of windowsXP rc1 and im full translated XP fan now  :)
i think its a wonderfull change and well worth the new name.
ill keep u all posted on compatibility:
- due to the win2k core theres no aspi layer so my PowerDVD needs to be replaced  :(
-my Homechoice set top box ADSL modem is running perfect (or i wouldnt be here).
-pretty easy to configure, my SBLIVE! Geforce2pro and intellieye intellimouse are all auto detected and the PCI modem all had drivers preinstalled during setup.
-my toshiba combo DVD-cdrw is detected and is write enabled.
thats all for now

I think I'll have to get Win XP, too. I've read a preview in my PC Magazine, and I read that it's quite cool. But Win XP isn't released in Germany yet.

When software actually requires it, I might buy it.

I'm with Three.  I don't like Microsoft's new liscencing scheme.  It seems like it will be a hassle.

I'll be using Win2K (on my home PC) until software and hardware no longer supports it.

I don't like OS update program things. I still remember the problems people were having using that 98 update for Win95. The updated OS was very, very unstable compaired to the complete Win98 version. And plus you have to go through that process of the update, everytime you install windows.
