Hey all, just curious, I did a search of the forums and didn't see anything at first look. Has there been any talk about trying to port the Ever Crisis models to FF7? Not sure if it can be done; I was just wondering what everyone's thoughts were on it.

I really wish I knew what the status of the FF8HD release was. I want to play it again but I'm kind of holding out for a Steam release just to check it out. I hope it doesn't come with a Character Booster :P

Word on the street is that Square decided to cancel Versus 13 and apparently they aren't even going to make an official announcement about it. I guess we'll never know if this rumor is true or not if that's the case..

Greenlight is going to allow people to vote on which games get into the Steam Store. Since FF7 PC is being re-released by Square already. Let's focus on FF8 and see if we can get a steam version of it!  :P

Sort of outdated news but a magazine claims that the next final fantasy might be on PC. That would be interesting...it's been quite a while since I've gotten to play a final fantasy on PC :P

Just thought I'd share it. Maybe get some opinions on this rumor.

Hey everyone, I've been playing FF8 again and it got me thinking. The work everyone has done on FF7 is amazing we should see what is possible with FF8. I'm going to start looking into it soon, I have very high hopes for what can be done with it. Would anyone else be interested?

I don't know if anyone has seen this but I just came across it on youtube, the opening video is pretty impressive but I really liked the layout of the main menu at 3 mins and 45 secs in. I don't think it would be do-able but who knows, someday.  :-P

Hey everyone!
   I used to do personal mods for FF7 a while back but it's been a while due to me losing my ff7 discs and being busy with work and school. I just recently bought a new copy of ff7 and have a decent amount of time on my hands and I would like to start modding again. It might take me a little while to get back into the swing of things; using the programs and whatnot. Anyway, my point is, I want to know if there is any project that desperately needs help FF7 or 8. I'll do my best to help in my free time  :-D

Has anyone gotten ff7 to run properly on Windows 7 yet? I tried to use search but...having a search with a keyword of "7" brings up A LOT haha. Whenever I try to run it it is just a black screen forever..no crash..just black. Anyone have any luck?

Hey guys,
        This is 100% off topic but I'm looking for some advice and I know I can always trust everyone here  :-D

I am about to buy a new AMD. Things I do mostly are gaming, such as Crysis etc. and Emulation ( working on getting a good build to emulate PS2 so I need a really good processor for the job) and I should also mention that I use Windows Vista

Which of these processors do you think would benefit me the most?

I was doing a little web surfing out of boredom and found myself on the Eidos site. I came across a FAQ with a question about FF7 not working on XP.

They started off by saying "ff7 just won't work on xp" lol but they went on to talk about a patch that will help the game run better...... and they provide a direct link to animevamp's XP patch   :-o

last time I checked, this patch was horrible. is this still the case?

So, I am trying something I have never done before, I'm trying to import swords from FFX into FF7. Having some issues though. First off, I dumped them from my disc into the ffb files then I used the converter to make them .obj. I got the normal files; model.obj,model.mtl and 0.tga I went into my 3ds max 8 and tried to import and I forget how to add in the mtl file but I ignored that because when it rendered it found the tga texture to render it with and it worked just for the render though, so then I saved it as a .3ds and went to PCreater and made it a .p model...

First problem, please confirm that that's what a weapon would have to be .p because it saves as a weird file when I try to save it as a battle model.

Second, as I guessed, when opened in Kimera or anything it has no texture so that goes back to my "how to import the material library with the .obj into 3ds" question.

any help would be greatly appreciated, Thank you! :-D

I am currently in a project to bring Final Fantasy 7 onto the Source engine. For those of you that don't know, it's what Half-life 2 and Counter Strike: Source run on.

We are looking for sound artists, modelers, but most importantly programmers.

Hey, for some reason none of the CGIs in FF7 work...it's just a black screen if I hit a button the menu comes up so the game is fine.
I thought it was a codec thing but, I can play the movies in windows media player with no problem.and I also have True Motion and ffdshow

the game worked before. then I uninstalled a while back and reinstalled now I have this problem

in light of my previous post I think I should mention, I did get my disc working again and got the movies off of it. so they are the official CGIs

only patches installed are offcial 1.02 and NPC reconstruction

Hello,
   I am back to FF7 after a little break but the problem is there is a big gash in my Disc 1. Luckily it can read it enough to know that it's FF7Disc1 I dont know how...lol   But, it can only read about half of the CGIs. I don't think it would be illegal to send some CGIs. Would anyone mind sending me some?

if you look at disc 1 in alphabetical order, I need every CGI from (and including ) junon to the end which is u_ropein

if any of those are on the other discs I dont need them, I only need the ones that I can only get off disc 1

Troubleshooting / Ff7.exe crashing

I am having a random crashing error that I have never seen in any topics, so I'm concerned

This happens in the shinra building when president shinra is talking to you right before sending you to jail. As soon as he sends the party out of his office. ( transitioning from the office to the jail cell) it comes up with the error reporting screen.

Patches Applied:
NPC Reconstruction version 0.6
New Spell Patch
Official XP 1.02
Chocobo

PC Specs:
Windows XP Home SP2
Pentium 4 1.6 ghz
512 mb RAM
GeForce 6200 512 mb

The Game has run fine from the beginning up until this point


If anyone can help me out with this in anyway, I'd be so happy  :-D

I was just wondering. Alot of people make different text editors just like cosmo. someone should try to make a new FF7Music because I could never get it working along with others  :-P I would do it but I wouldn't have any clue where to start haha  :|
