Thanks for all your work on this. I just recently bought the remaster to relive nostalgia from my teenage years. Supported your patreon to try out AngelWing and can't get enough how amazing everything looks. Finally the backgrounds look as high quality as the character models.

I was able to figure it out. I turned off all the mods related to gameplay and textures to see what happened. It allowed me to use the glitch and get the prize correctly.

Hi,

Seeing if anyone can assist with an issue. I'm playing FF7 on Steam utilizing 7th Heaven 2.0 with all mods available installed. I'm at Golden Saucer on Disc 1 playing speed square. When I get points without hitting the zeppelin it gives me a prize. When I hit the zeppelin, I don't get a prize when I return. Gift shop lady just asks if I want to see the Wall of Fame. Not sure if a mod is causing this issue or not.

Hoping to get umbrella/parasol on disc 1. Extremely difficult to get over 5k without hitting that propeller.

Any suggestions?

I think I found the issue.

I deactivated all my mods and the boss's were showing up correctly. I then started adding them one by one to see which one causes me to have the wrong boss. It looks like the Red Werewolf mod 1.0 is causing it. Every other mod seems to work fine for my game. I had it at the top in the load order.

FYI. I was using vanilla difficulty.

Hello,

I started a new game. I was getting the correct boss battles for a little while until I reached Shinra HQ. After I freed Aeris and RedXIII, you're supposed to fight Sample H0512. Instead I fought Hundred Gunner in the elevator, the next boss after that.

I uninstalled and cleaned the registry again. I manually went through and searched every registry key relating to bootleg or Final Fantasy 7 and deleted all of them. I re installed and loaded up the same save. It's still giving me the wrong boss in  that spot. I don't know what else to try. I must be missing a bootleg registry key somewhere that's affecting my game.

8
I think I fixed my earlier issues. I went ahead and uninstalled, cleaned my registry and removed the keys. I then searched for any individual FF7 keys and deleted them as well. I reinstalled everything according to directions, and it seems like I'm not having issues.

One thing that came up was any boss battles I have the enemies aren't correct. I know in the FAQ's this is mentioned. I just wanted to check and see if having a save file back when I was using bootleg would cause this issue if I loaded that save file for 7th heaven?

Thanks,

Hi,

First I just wanted to say thank you for putting together this tutorial. I finished all the steps and downloaded all the mods through 7th heaven. When I first tried it after installing one mod, everything seemed to work fine except sound couldn't be loaded.

I then went ahead and activated all the mods and put them in the order you recommended. Now when i start, I lose all of the opening cinematic's and the screen shrinks to a minuscule size, making it barely visible. This happens regardless of whether I select full screen or not. I then hit a button and it takes me to the "new game/continue" screen, and then I can go into the game. Sound did start working though. I just can't fix the resolution. aspect ratio is correct in settings.

I decided to uninstall all the mods to see if it fixed it, but I still have the same issue. The only other thing I did after testing out one mod was install an xbox360 controller mod. I uninstalled that too, but the issue remained.

Any suggestions on this? I really don't want to uninstall FF7 and do this process all over again.

Bootleg Questions / Re: [Tutorial] Tifa's Bootleg

How do i configure the controls or use a controller once I've applied everything?
For some reason now I start the game and can only use the NUM pad to move and press enter to start.

I have an xbox360 controller that I plug in. The game automatically recognized it. The D-Pad doesn't work, though, only the joystick.

I was finally able to get it to work. I think I kept getting errors when I used the same folder for bootleg and Temp for multiple installations. I think some things were saved in bootleg and the temp folder from previous installations, and it was causing errors when I tried reinstalling.

For the installation that worked, I created a brand new folder to put bootleg and the mods into, as well as a new temp folder. It completed without any issues, and it ran on the first try! Can finally enjoy this game again!

This is answered in the FAQ: http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=13212.msg183582#msg183582

I tried the FF7config.exe fix  and I'm still getting the same error. I've gone through a bunch of reinstallations of FF7 and reinstalling bootleg. I got one to work, but it crashed as soon as I hit a battle. I think my antivirus quarantined a battle file. Still trying to install the mods. Are there any conflicts with certain mods that may cause the game to not even start?

I tried disabling my antivirus, firewall, and clearing the registry. I reinstalled the game and tried to do a fresh mod install as well. Everything seemed to be going well. All the mods seemed to install correctly with no errors. I made sure FF7config had my sound device selected, and Aalis custom driver was being recognized. When I start it up, I still get a black cmd box, and then nothing. If I try to run it through FF7music, it just tells me that that ff7.exe stopped working.

I read someone else was having trouble with the latest NVIDIA drivers. I don't know if that could be an issue.

Hi,

I downloaded Tifa's package and ran bootleg with no issues. I purchased the game through steam. When I run the game through bootloader, the cmd black box comes up and then just goes away. I can't get the game to start.

I have an Nvidia GPU. I also checked to make sure auto-mount was selected. Anyone have any ideas why this could be happening?

Here's my APP.Log

General Discussion / Re: Final Fantasy XIII

I have a PS3 and really enjoy the Dual Shock Wireless Gamepad that comes with it. The only problem I have with it really is R2 and L2 buttons on the back of the controller. They seem so slippery sometimes, especially when playing FPS games. That's why I got these things called Realtriggers that you can hook on to the back of the controller to get rid of that slippery feeling. Best 5 dollars I ever spent.

Sorry about posting too early, I figured out how to fix it. I was using Aali's custom driver and on the new version there's an option to use the Music filter and I turned it on. After that, everything worked fine.

17
This is getting ridiculously frustrating. I'm trying to run this using WinXp and have tried almost every imaginable combination I can think of and still nothing works.

I downloaded the remastered track and tried using mad.dll and outwave.dll as well mp3.dll. I directed FF7 music to look for the files in my FF7 folder as well as my C directory where there isnt any spaces. I'm messed with all the settings and still nothing is happening. Any help?

Hi, I know this topic is very old, but I'm having the exact same problem described in this topic. Now I've already downloaded and installed timidity and followed all the instructions. Problem is, the "Putzlowischts Vista MIDI-Mapper" doesn't work. It doesn't show up in the control panel at all. I also have the other midi mappers as well but none of the midi playback devices even show up in the drop down box.

General Discussion / Final Fantasy 10 PCSX2......

Has anyone tried playing this on their PC yet? I was wondering if anyone could recommend what specs to play this on. I have a intel quad core overclocked to 3.2ghz. Will this be enough to play relatively smooth?

General Discussion / Re: Favourite FF game in the series?
« on: 2008-05-14 06:44:32 »
Well the first Final fantasy game I ever played was Final Fantasy 8, so I would say that is my favorite since I have so many fond memories of it. I know a lot of people hated it cause of the junction system and the story, but I didn't mind it at all. The only gripe I had with it really was Ultimecia was a terrible final boss.

After that I'd say it's a close tie between 7 and 10. I didn't even really start playing 7 until I had already beat 9 and 10, so I got into it late in the game. That's probably why I don't automatically consider it the best FF game like a lot of other people do.

23
Hi, first off I'd like to thank you for making a great patch. I've been forced to play Final Fantasy 8 in software mode for a while now and it's a relief to finally be able to play it in hardware mode. Just a quick question though. While everything looks great when I'm running around the world, whenever I go into my menu interface the colors seem to wash together. I notice different lines of red and green scattered throughout the gray boxes. I don't know if this due to the patch but I just thought I'd point it out and see if anyone can help me.

24
Okay, I looked around searching for where I found the article and re read it. Apparently it's going to be the last final fantasy directed by Nomura. So I guess it's not nearly as devastating news compared to saying it was the last numbered final fantasy.

25
I've read somewhere that final fantasy 13 is going to be the last new final fantasy made. Can anyone confirm this?
