Title: FFVII European Version?

a while ago i was in Germany, and i think i came across a European FFVII???

it had a way different cover and the previews on the back looked diff...

Is it just me or is something wrong here?

The european version does have different front and back covers.... the same way the Japanese and American ones do.

Final Fantasy games in the UK have all similar boxart. They're just white with the logo on (similar to japanese ones).

The American games usually have some sort of awful mishmash of characters on the cover.

Final Fantasy VIII PC UK had the same cover as the FF8 PSX in the USA
I think it was the same for FF7 UK PC.

No it is different, the other FF games follow this design (Although the logos are smaller from VIII onwards)

Japanese and European covers are always the same.

But, don't know why the USA covers are different and overcharged with so many images or designs.

I think the originals are better, with that clean white and the FINAL FANTASY logo on it with the works of Yosh*taka Amano.

I love it *_*

EDIT: Why can't I post that japanese name correctly? @_@

I remember reading an article about this somewhere.

It was all about marketing, and said basically that the Euro/Aus/Jap audiences prefer the more simple classy look, which is why we have just a white backround with the logo, and the americans preferred the more over the top style with lots of flashy pictures and what not.
Makes perfect sense I spoze americans would need something a bit more over the top to catch there eye in a game store as opposed to a white backround :-P.

Aahh things might've changed now. I mean look at Apple.. Just white. White white white.
