I was randomly browsing the web, when I stumbled across Zack Fair's page on the FF wiki. One of the "Trivia" things says:
"Strangely enough, Zack has a menu portrait in Final Fantasy VII, meaning he may have been meant to be playable in game, as he even had an in game battle sprite."
...this isn't true, is it?

thats very odd indeed. i have been working on battle.lgp for the reconstruction sheet.There in no Zack Battle model,If the battle model is there it must just be cloud, w/ a different (undiscovered) texture applied for his hair, there are a few clouds in battle.lgp. We have battle.lgp completely IDed. Infact its just missing a few pictures(well its missing them all for now since my server is off, till i get a new HD). as for a menu portrait i also have not found that but i have not been poking around menu as much as some others around here perhaps one of them can confirm this.

Where was his menu portrait? I don't think I've seen any original FFVII art of Zack apart from a rough line sketch.

I highly doubt it's true. But since the wiki is a reliable source... :-\
