Title: Sound issue

I'm having sound issues with my version of FFVII Ultimate Edition, I'm currently running it on windows 7 and have tried compatibility mode. Though the game runs fine as far as I've played the sound effects just don't work though the music plays fine. Can someone help me out on this?
