Hi I have installed FF7 on my PC and it all seems to start up just fine with no modding, fixing or patching (windows 7 x64) only issue is the the up and left keys are always pressed.
so when i launch the game the cursor will cycle between "new game" and "continue" really fast. when i get control of cloud he will start walking forward in the beginning without me pressing anything. when cloud enters the first battle he wont be able to attack because the up and left keys are always pressed so it will go to "switch" instead of attack. i have tried to customize the keys from in game but i cant with the speed that it is executing up/left.
I tried the laptop keyboard mod but that didnt fix it. i have usb game pads but those dont seem to be doing anything. I tried using the remix mod and that didnt fix the issue (but did otherwise mod properly thanks to everyone who put hard work in the patches included in the remix and thanks to the person who organized the remix)
I did some internet searching and havent been able to find any cases where others have been having my same issue.
Any ideas how i can fix it? thanks.
btw this is my first time playing FF7 (*shock*)

Disconnect any game pads you may have connected.

There was an ff7input.cfg floating around that unmapped the joystick controls specifically to workaround this issue. Some forum searching could probably turn it up. Configurable joystick dead zone would make a nice feature to include in the custom driver..

I didn't have any gamepads plugged in but you were on the right track: apparently my usb bluetooth adapter was screwing with it. Nothing is paired with it right now but apparently it being in was affecting the game. Seems to work fine so far it seems.
Thanks for the time.
