 Aiyoh, when got new Final Fantasy for PC ohhh, i am waiting it for long time ohhhh, hope FFX & FFXI will have it.
-
You can play FFIX on PC with ePSXe. There probably won't be a FFX for PC, but I believe they are planning on making FFXI for PC, it being a massive multiplayer online game and all.
-
 I very happy when FFVII & FFVIII released, i bought in the 1st time and finish the game, but after that no more any for PC, but i really hope FFX will also got a version for PC
-
Many of us are also hoping for it, but the likely-hood of that is falling fast, if it's not already gone. It'll probably be at least 1 or 2 years until a PS2 emulator comes out, despite modern system being able to play PS2 games now, hardware-wise.

:-? But if PS2 emulator release, when we play with it will need high reqiurement for our computer hardware to run those game. :x
-
ps2? hahaha. im waiting for the xbox emulator :)
my pc takes xbox to school.
-
At the moment XBox don't have enough game to make me so like it.
-
i want an emulator for all of em. then i could play all the games i wanted to on my computer :)
-
If the emulator programmer was good enough, all you'd need to emulate a PS2 game perfectly is:
1) A DVD-ROM drive
2) A 64+meg Video card (GeForce4Ti would be fine)
3) 1.2+ghz CPU
4) A Good Soundcard with CD Audio (Like this is hard to find. )

 Wahhhh!!! You think so easy to get all hardware like that, and i think very expensive for us to getting the following hardware. HAHAHAHAHAH!!!! :x
-
why are you looking at me?
anywho..... if i were willing to take apart my ps2 to get a bios dump, and was a good enough programmer... id be working on an emulator at this very moment.
-
What type of console are you prepare to emulate ??? Darkness .... :-?
-
Seph3d: It'd be nice if it *was* so easy. The hard part is emulating the custom hardware.
Remember the PS1? 33MHz processor, very limited 3d capabilities? Now, you're talking a 500MHz processor with a reasonable (16MB+) video card to get anything like decent games out of a PS emulator.
Now, extend that to the PS2, with its custom video processor with its ridiculous bandwidth ... current hardware can't cut it. I doubt we'll have *playable* PS2 emulators for years, plural.
-
:) I also think that PS2 emulator in future need very high requirement to make PS2 game playable
-
im still waiting for a dreamcast emulator. that one is completely possible with todays hardware.... but nooo no one is interesting in one that plays commercial games.
-
so do it your self. dreamcasts are like $30-$40 now
-
try FINDING one.
-
 If I am not wrong, there is a Dreamcast emulator in porgress call "Boob!cast", am I right ? :erm:

SaiNt, Chibimaruko, Joey, sengzai, and yuna are from Malaysia.
The rest are from the U.S. and from England, and from Sweden of course.
Aside from that, FFXI is said that it could also be for the GameCube (since square and nintendo reconcilitated).

PurpleSmurf/vvalentine: hello!!! Yuna is from INDONESIA!!!!
It's 2 diffrent countries....

I remember reading that Squaresoft wants to release FFXI for as many platforms as they can so that it will be available for more people to play online (I guess MMORPGs are more fun with more people... never played one though).
PS2, Gamecube, PC, and even possibly X-Box are all options.
-
I also read that news before, I think FFXI will in PC platform, but I also hope FFX can got a PC version
-
I think its pretty much been decided that there will be no FFX for PC though. To bad :-p
-
Ohhhh, so sad to hear that
-
Yeah. What hurts even more is that it's one of the better FF games, IMHO of course...

Yes, I know. Hopefully they will release it for Gamecube :-p
I think I might be just hoping for too much, though.

When I heard about the SquareSoft - Nintendo "war treaty" I jumped up in the air for joy, spun around, and said: "It's about Bloody F***ing Time!!!"
Whoooo!!!

SQUARESOFT + NINTENDO is a good news, but for me not so important, because I hope it will release new FF series in PC platform only, but also hope in other console too, so everybody can play it.
-
I prefer to get the console versions because they don't take up disk space, you can't get into trouble for owning one of them (emulators), and the files don't get deleted when you're computer has a virus... other than that I like the PC versions too.

its more than likely that ff wont come to pc. the japanese use consoles and the jaspanese like final fantasy.

Notice the cpu power ratio (500mhz needed to emulate a 33mhz cpu). I read somewhere that, assuming the horsepower ratio is the same, you'd need like a 6Ghz (speeding ticket sold separately! :o) cpu to properly run the ps2 emulator.
As for simply using emulators for the games as opposed to authentic pc versions, I agree, but I draw the line at needing to use XA audio for bgm. From what it looks like when it's decoding XA on my system, the it keeps streaming it to the hard drive, copying down the audio to the drive. And keeps writing. And still writing (HD activity light was solid red. With my new cd drive, its not solid, but there is constant HD activity for the entire time of playback)......eventually it wore out the heads on my last hard disk, causing me and my dad to spend another freaking $129 on a new disk.

Final Fantasy release in PC platform mean that people don't have a console(or no PS2 coz FF in PS2 only), can play on thier PC and no need to buy a console only because want to play a good game like FF. :z

Goku7: Here's a question: Is your HD & CD-Drive on the same IDE cable? If so, that's your problem. Having a CD-drive and a HD on the same ICE channel will cause the HD to run at the same speed as your CD-Drive, which would cause tons of problems, including the one you told us about.

Yes, yes, at first I considered those answers, but I think the problem is more complex then that...
You see, when playing regular CD-Audio, or even FF7PC's ".avi" files, the hard drive light does not come on. At all. It simply reads them off the cd, like a good cd-rom drive should. Plus, my relatively new 52x CD-ROM drive lists "CD-ROM/XA" as a readable format, yet I get the same hard disk activity.

Well its bad news FFX is not coming out for PC..and FF11 maybe hard for me to pay the monthly bills........
-
FFXI for PS2 or PC only can play online ??? As you all know......
-
I've finally caved in, I'm buying a PS2 soon, MGS2 and FFX are too tempting for me. Plus, this will take the edge of my PC crashing, hehe.

Well, the hard drive's destruction happened over the summer. I was playing MMX5 (which uses XA audio, and not PSX-MIDI), using the full version of the bleem! emulator.
Lately, I've been playing FF9 using ePSXe 1.5.0, lewpy's GPU, and Eternal SPU 1.20. Now, FF9 DOES NOT use XA audio for bgm, but the movies do. There is a slight lighting-up of the hard disk light during playback, due to the newer cd-rom drive (the 52x one).
Also, I've been playing FF Anthology, with also uses XA audio for bgm. Why they don't simply use the PSX synth for that, I don't know....
-
So sad, I think PS2 sell price at here is more expensive then other countries.........
-
Theres still hope for FFX Pc...
Now I've played the demo I know current generation Pc's would be able to run it fairly well...
But I doubt it I really do. Square are so foolish with there games.
The Final Fantasy games are made to be played. Square should make them for people to play. Port them to every format possible. Hell its more money for them and its more people enjoying there games!
-
Yeahhh, because PC owner is more than PS2 owner so much.....
Sir Canealot: what demo you played ???

Sorry for stating the obvious, but I am from Malaysia as well :D

That's weird though. My brother plays MMX5 and MMX6 a lot of times using ePSXe and nothing happened.
-
Like I said earlier, I used bleem! version 1.5 (full version). I did not have ePSXe at the time. So, I'm guessing the difference was the emulator. I would explain further, but I gotta go now......

Which state you come from ??? :-?
-
Like to say..
Square is not so eager to release FF's on PC's,
but FFXI will be on this platform, cause of the
higher internet access..
FFXII won't be released on PC, because 'blahblah',
but sure, would like to have it. Graphics seem to be
great. Than what about FFXIII? :D
-
We haven't heard ANYTHING about FXIII yet... seems to me if they follow their pattern of "three games per platform" (3 NES, 3 SNES, 3 PSX) ... FFXIII will be for PlayStation 3 or whatever Nintendo system comes after Gamecube?
-
hmmmmm!!!! I think FFXIII will also in SONY console
-
Uh, I was *joking*..
But it's true..
Anyhow - I think that FFXIII might be the mega-online [GCN,PS2(or even 3),X-Box(also 2),PC]. Od course if FFXI ends up to be a hit.
Else - another FFIX style game, but with good graphics.
-
theyre gonna make a pc version of ffx but they need to change the format so it works on windows
i heard square wont put ff on any of nintendos consoles
square supposedly has a contract with sony...
-
Huhhhh!!! You know Square already annouced that GBA & GC got FF games ?????
-
This guy is probably slow in the news. :D :D :D .
No offense cloudago. :D
