Title: Natural Selection 2
Post by: BloodShot on 2010-12-21 21:39:26
Once a great multiplayer HL mod now turned Indie, NS2 has Its own engine and a lot of improvements over the original.

I loved the original way back, and i just got this. Was wondering if anybody here had played the original/got the new one yet.

Its the closest experience you can get to the Aliens movie aside from the AvP games (which most aren't that good)

i used to love the original, though many of the alien classes were extremely difficult to play until you evolved a little higher. I always loved the marine objectives, since you had to clear a path to the hive and then destroy it. For the engine it was on, the original was pretty groundbreaking in terms of mixing RTS/FPS gameplay as well. I hope the developers get it right a second time, and don't pander to the console/gamepad crowd.

I've just been playing the beta, and trust me, they didn't.

It was a christmas present - they even have a special for the holidays, for $35 you get two copies, both with current beta access.

I don't believe it's on the consoles anyway.

It is very faithful to the original in many ways, albeit with new features and a shiny new engine.

However, it does get glitchy when 11+ players are in a server, lag problems arise - and It isn't optimized well enough yet, but it is beta, and they update it weekly so I

imagine these are all things they fixed - but from what stable games I have had, they are very fun and it seems like It is worth the money.  ;D
