Title: Highwind can't finish extracting battle.lgp
Post by: livetruthfully on 2011-02-12 21:02:06
Almost done getting the hang of the modding, just have one more obstacle to overcome!

I'm trying to mod Cloud's AC model into my battle.lgp, and I followed finalfantasy7pc's instructions on youtube. However there is one problem I'm encountering that he didn't, and that is when I extract the battle.lgp files to a new folder, it never finishes. It stops at about 97% of the way and then I get this message:

"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click continue the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click quit, the application will close immediately.

Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. Parameter name: start Index."

Has anyone else ever encountered this? What were your solutions? I feel like I'm one step away from gaining my prize, I'd love some help getting there!

Most people use the command prompt tools lgp/unlgp to extract and recompress lgp's. I suggest you try those.

Just gave it a go and thanks to Aali's lgp/unlgp tutorial it worked perfectly man, you're amazing. I appreciate the help.

It wasn't the file, I got it to work with the method prescribed above. I believe it's a vista thing; I googled it and similar problems that came up all had to do with Vista's security. In short Vista is sucking ass. But thanks for your input.

Well actually, "Borde" recently uploaded a non-command line version. I don't have the link on me though.
