...or "how to waste two hours of your life". My brother called me telling me "you have to watch it", and I just did. And, oh man, what a bore. Sure, the pictures are pretty, with nice music sometimes, but the storyline... ...It's not the first time my brother makes me watch a movie like this. I also had to sit through Transformers and the horribly-bad-but-critically-acclaimed Avatar. Next time he asks me to watch a movie, someone please remind me to tell him to fuck off.
No originality, cheesy stories with no depth, manichean plots & characters... ...blargh. If these kinds of all-style-but-no-substance movies are your thing go ahead, but if more "evolved" cinematography is what you're looking for, don't watch it. You've been warned.

The first 30 minutes of the movie made me expect it to be good, but it turned way too cheesy way too fast.
I too made fun of Avatar...before I watched it. Sure it's a Fern Gully remake, but I thought it was a really good movie.

it was an effective movie - it did things right, but unfortunately, thats not enough to be a "good" movie. It was good however, at making Cameron's wallet very... heavy.

avatar is poccahontas in space
poccahontas was an awesome movie
+ spaaaaaaaaaace =/= bad movie
transformers 1 was ok, transformers 2 was one eternal-long and drawn out action scene
TRON is really up to opinions. I for one, call your opinion total nonsense
I liked the movie.
pretty sure your top 5 movies are no where close to my top 5

Avatar had the elements of a good movie and it certainly wasn't a horrible movie, but it definately was not a good or great movie. "Well we know these are the things it takes to make a good movie, so why don't we throw them all together and add some overt symbolism and make a few million moneys." There is a distinction to be made between the works of talented individuals and works that follow a methodology in an attempt to be better than they are.

Tron was average at best, just another CGI fest.

Opinions differs, yeah, but... I actually loved that movie, and won't be any tired of watching it over and over and over again.
(BTW, Armorvil, its real name is Tron : Legacy without the "the" since it was added for the French version)

I hated it...until 1/5 through the movie i decided that Jeff Bridges was playing "The Dude" from The Big Lebowski. Watch it again with that frame of mind and it's a much better movie.
