What are the best mods for Final Fantasy VII?
Which of these mods are your favorites?
Which mods are absolutely required?
I'm working on a tutorial: Bootleg Edit for the FFVII Remix 2.5.1.
I didn't want to step on any toes by repackaging other people's stuff.
Instead, I'm writing a tutorial that documents the installation of all these amazing mods.
I just worked DLPB & Kranmer's Menu and Battle Interface Overhaul Project into the mix.
This mod really shines with Aali's new battle interface, especially with the battle scenes by Magochocobo and FeliX Leonhart.
I feel like I'm playing a whole new game. I even have to relearn my arrow key combos to work with the new menu system!
So what are your favorite modifications for FF7?

I did my own personal difficulty mod and uploaded that a few months ago. It's basically for the people that sleep through the hardcore mod. It's based on his hardcore mod though.
The Aerith mod by ultimaespio is something you should get in any case ( needs tinkering to work with other mods ) and the hardcore mod as well
obviously, the TA mods are pretty much a given
Beside that... there ain't much for me.

Wow, thanks for the insight.
Now I realize I need to add another section specifically for gameplay modifications.
I'm looking for your version of the hardcore mod, but haven't yet found it.
What is your mod's name?

There we go
Be warned, it's BLOODY hard

Felix's WorldMap and battle scenes
Gjoerulv's hardcore mode
DLPB's menumod (and eventual retranslation)
Team Avalanche GUI (hands, arrows, etc..... need their own release now)
team avalanche battle sprites and GFX
Toss up between any of the fractal-resizes on field screens, I honestly cant tell the difference
and thats about it. Since I've been on these boards a lot has happened, but the quality of many mods has been distilled, and these few mix together just perfectly!

I LOVE GJOERULV'S MOD!!!! But seriously, I do. Greatest ff7 experience I have ever had. Hands down. Period...

Okay, I've worked in Gjoerulv's Hardcore Mod 1.04 and Ultima Espio's Aeris Patch (v.2011.03.23).
I'm still testing the mix, but everything seems to work.
Now I'd like to know what is your favorite sound track for FF7?
I'm currently using Titeguy3's soundtrack from the Remix 2.5.1 pack.
I chose this version over Covarr's mainly because it was already installed.
I'm using Titeguy's soundtrack because the bass hits harder and I really dig the intro to costa(remix).mp3-- Suco de Melancia (Costa del Sol).
Are there other complete, looped soundtracks for FF7?
Which FF7 soundtrack is the very best??

There's very little in the way of compiled looped soundtracks, but it's easy enough to loop your own songs if you don't mind a bit of time investment. There's a tutorial somewhere around here.

I'll most likely do that for my own personal use.
I really like your installer and I prefer some of your tracks to those in the remix.
But for this tutorial, I'm sticking to mods already released in the community.
You've been a member of this community a lot longer than I have.
I'm sure that you have a much better idea of what music is appropriate for an authentic FF7 experience!
Argh! I keep finding excellent mods with overlapping content . . . It's just too difficult to decide which to use.
I wish I could use both sets of music and have the tracks alternate.
