When I wrote alliance in the subject bar I didn't mean joining forces to finish FF7 Remake. I'm talking about something else: Why don't I help in making a kind of online mini version of FF7 remake? If the PSX had Chocobo World for FF8 surely we could do a better job with a PC and the internet?
Think about it...

Have you ever thought of the copyright laws your online game will bend or break?

Hmmmm.... :-?
I could write an e-mail to someone at Square so that they can clarify the situation legally and maybe ask fore some permissions or allowances for the site (it is a non-profit venture). Maybe they'll see the use of the character models as harmless as picture galleries of FF7 art? The character models don't have to be used if there is a problem, right?.
I was trying to reply earlier but I couldn't for some reason (the site redesign perhaps? It looks great though :D ). You have a good point there

Oh no - that isn't the thing to do.
There's a problem with writing to a company; they can't pretend to know nothing about you.
Specifically, they are *going* to say no. There's no way they'd say anything else; even if it's non-profit, they can't let people use their property, otherwise *everyone* would start doing it, and point at *your* site for justification.
And more to the point; once they've said "no" they're pretty much obliged to shut you down. An awful lot of fansites are illegal in some way; fanfic, for a start, breaks copyright all by itself. So long as Square isn't specifically told about them they can always pretend they don't know (and you won't be surprised to know they don't go out looking for fanfic sites to sue) - but if your site is drawn to their attention, then they have to defend their copyright.

Quite correct. Which is why the Remake is kept relatively secret. Or at least, I thought it was supposed to be...? All it takes is for a moron to venture out on his own and mail the wrong people, and that Remake will end up the same way as that DBZ fan game.

fice is right..... just look at BnetD.... this project, however, would probably go underground.
-
Even having a site for the remake is way to risky. Fice, you should just say "What remake? You have no proof. You can't sue us. Haha". Otherwise they can use the site as proof.
-
You could disguise the site as long loooooooooonnnnnnnnnnggggggg April Fool's Day Joke....... :naughty:

The site is a way of keeping me from getting tooooo many emails ;)
It's not registered on search engines (or rather, I didn't submit it to any), and besides, Hal2k goes down for 3 months every year, so it's not like a permanent fixture...

How the hell did the remake, that doesn't advertise at ALL, get on google, and my webcomic, that I've been trying to advertise like crazy, not get in?
That engine's a little fucked up. Too bad it's still the best search engine out there...

It's all in the META tags.
Depending on how you make your websites determines what goes in there... Most authoring programs slap in their own META tags and don't bother telling you (Usually just the same thing as the Title). If you really want to fiddle with what your page is telling the search engines, bust out notepad and edit in your own META tags.
...If you have no clue what I'm talking about, check out www.htmlgoodies.com . That and View Source has been 99% of my webdesign education.

Anyone can find info about FFVII remake. If you type on google "final fantasy VII" remake, you get links to qhimm's and ficedula's site.

Well, that's why I said I didn't *submit* it to any. Webcrawlers get round almost every page, eventually...
-
Where's your webcomic at, Seph?
-
www.add-comic.com
I actually added meta tags to those pages, but...
