So... this may seem dumb (and apologies if it's already in the faq section somewhere:- I couldn't find it...) but I tried to take a print screen of the game running, and all I got was a plain black screen when I pasted it back into Paint.
Anyone know what that's about?

It wont work like that of you have Fraps there is a screesnhot tab select that and take the prntscrn
-
The bad thing about Fraps, if you don't pay for it you're stuck with a lorez screenshot.
Sometimes running the game in a window helps.
Prntscrn worked for me until I connected a second monitor.

I think print screen doesn't work if the game is fullscreen. You'll have to use windowed mode.

It's always worked for me...that's how I do my screenshots :-o

Yeah it works for me too.

Sometimes print screen doesn't work with video or games. I dunno why that is... It works with me for ff7 but a long time ago it wouldnt. It would take black screens.

Cheers for moving to the right place.
And I figured it would work in windowed, but I prefer running it in full screen :(
what's this fraps thing?

sheesh use google for once lol:
http://www.fraps.com/
it basically records pc gameplays and also can take screenshots

if not fraps, you could also try SnagIt. It works well for games once you set it up, and its also great for capturing video/screenshots of your desktop. I use it daily at work to make instructions for software, and the staff use it to capture any error messages and simply e-mail the error box to me. Makes life soooo easy.

geek answer: print screen only works if the app does NOT use "overlay" to render the frame buffer contents
